Absolutely love this health food store... Prices are fair and selection is great. Finding a lot of natural remedies to try versus chemicals/pills. Moringa, castor oils, teas, collagen soursop, chlorophyll just to name a few favorites. Latest find is wild oregano oil for respiratory problems. read more

I needed to restock my chlorophyll, and since I was completely out, I headed to Brown's market vs. ordering from somewhere online. I called on my way there to make sure they had it and received great customer service over the phone. When I arrived, the person at the register showed me exactly where to find the product. They have a huge variety of vitamins, teas, soaps, skincare items... I definitely recommend this place. The price was just a bit higher than my usual online retailer , but the service was so good, I really didn't mind supporting this business. read more

Got over charged at that store a while back. Questioned the clerk about it. She gave some lame excuse. Did a half ass attempt of resolving the issue. I went online and posted my receipt along with items purchased. What bought didn't match what I paid. Didn't get a response from mgt. Another business, Natural Health Center 2 is now my health store go to. They are also in District Heights. Smaller store however they sell similar products. read more

Went here for the first time about a month ago. Had a great experience. On my way back today together me some Iron supplements

The older lady who works or maybe own the store doesn't have great customer service as the two younger people who helped me. Her attitude is the reason I put the product back and will go somewhere else. She saved me 50 plus dollars because of her attitude. I googled the same product & found it cheaper somewhere else. I was just going to buy it there because of the customer service from the two employee's and it being local. read more

Exceptional place good products honest service , professional and helpful staff. Quality quality

African American owned business, which is a wonderful to see in this day and time. The place is small which gives it the human touch from the moment you walk in, you feel at home. Someone's greets you and everyone is always cordial. They sell vitamins, supplements and a variety of other things. If you don't know what you want they'll always there to help you and at a lower price then GNC or any other big corporate health food chain. I would highly recommend you just walk in, you'll definitely get the feel of being in a comfortable environment where no one rushes you in or out. You won't feel robbed for your dollar or no one cares. read more

Brown's Market - the outside of the store - Health Markets Near Me - District Heights, Maryland

OVER PRICED, DO NOT COME HERE TO SHOP YOU CAN GET MOTE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK ELSEWHERE! It just doesn't make sense to me how they can rip off their own people like this, first time here a case of water cost me $28!?? HOW!? Now leaving here for my second time spending almost $40 on 2-3 items. Small items at that it's just insane and I'll honestly never come back here again! read more

This store is the only one of its kind in this area. They usually have many of the items I use (supplements, detox aides, teas, natural beauty and body products, organic and natural foods, vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/dairy free products, books, a vast essential oil collection, all natural health aides, etc). However, they are expensive and often have poor customer service. Mr. Brown and his wife are lovely people and make you feel welcomed. There is also another gentleman who is very helpful and pleasant but that is where the friendly stops. Other employees look annoyed when being asked questions and frequently have bad attitudes. I continue to go there because its 10-15 minutes from my house and I don't always feel like driving to Whole Foods in Alexandria. Basically, it's convenient and gets the job done even though I may spend a little extra. read more

Good selection. Good location. I prefer supporting local small business rather than the big health supplement chain stores. Excellent and knowledgable staff, too. read more
