We ordered catering pans from here for 4th of July 2025. Everything was excellent. The turkey wings and gravy are so good. Yams, green beans macaroni and cheese were also delicious. I usually cook myself but needed a break this holiday. All of the food was seasoned well. Not salty just well seasoned and flavorful. Customer service was great and they were very accommodating with my large order. We will definitely frequent this business again. Ok so I thought I was supporting a B.O.B but this is not a Black Owned Restaurant. I sought this establishment out because I wanted Chitterlings for New Year. I called the day before where the employee said 11am!! I got there at 11:02am and there was a line. Chitterlings came in the small $18.99 and medium $26.99 sized containers. They called the medium a large which confused several people. The chitterlings were decent. Not overly seasoned but just right. Everything else I ordered was not seasoned like the cabbage and the black eyed peas. The catfish and Shrimp were fine as well. Not a fan of their Mac and cheese. The deserts were store bought. I dislike the price inconsistency based on their menu and what I was charged. If I try this establishment again I might look into the chicken plate or a dinner option. read more

The meatloaf was not even meat. I don't know what that was. The Salisbury steak had no onions or green peppers in it. If you don't ask for gravy they give you a hamburger patty and that's it. It's just not good. read more

Well well well...let me be the 1st to say that this place is possibly the best soul food Ive had in this area! (DMV) yes..I went THAT far. Out of all of the places I have tried, this one definitely had me craving to go back the next day! The actual place might look suspect if youre not familiar with the area, but dont let that fool you. The people inside are very polite and ready to serve you. The food is awsome.org. My coworker suggested this place and said that its an old "hole in the wall". Once he said hole in the wall, I was in my car ready to roll. They pack your plates with large amounts of food where your plate would overflow with deliciousness! Meh, I've experienced better, but it's OK... so I guess that translates to a 2.5? Well, I stopped by this place because I had a serious hankering for some fried shrimp after church. I got the shrimp and scallops with mac and cheese and collard greens. The shrimp and scallops were decent. The scallops were small, but had a good batter. The collards were solid and textbook. The mac and cheese was mediocre. Lately, I've experienced some excellent mac and cheese, so it felt really lackluster. The cornbread was horrible. I took one bite and didn't even bother to eat it. The "cocktail sauce" provided seemed to be mixed ketchup and hot sauce, but definitely no horse radish. They give large portions of the sides and fair customer service. I'd go back if I got another strong craving for seafood and probably just get fries as a side, with some wheat bread. read more

I use to visit this spot often back in the day. Boy has it changed. I try and support black businesses, even though I know that only the front desk and cooks were black. It's Asian owned. Anyway went today 1-5-23, ordered a wing dinner with Mac and cheese and string beans. Also a four wing dinner with Mac and cheese and string beans. I paid $26 dollars. It has two stars because the turkey wings were pretty good. The Mac and cheese is boxed with no seasoning so prepare to doctor it up at home. The string beans were just okay. Not let's move on to the fried chicken wings that was a big disappointment. They were OLD and dark wings that had clearly been cooked in old grease and had been sitting most of the day. I called and the lady who answered said I'll let you speak to the cook, I was on hold for 18 minutes he never came and she never came back. I'm so disappointed, that this place is in a black community and treat the people of the community this way. We paid hard earned money and deserve better. Food always good you have to wait a while but it's worth it . My only suggestion is redo the menu board both online and especially inside gives you a headache trying to read it stuff all over all the windows. And take down those faded food pictures. read more

This was one of the top soul food spots around 30 years ago. Now as many of the soul food spots in the DMV it has new Korean ownership. The menu is massive as they have mostly everything that you can imagine behind that wall, I however can't bring myself to eat there. Seems a little dark and run down, I get food for my elderly mother who has yet to complain. On my last visit the wheat bread had mold on it, so don't trust the bread. read more

I just want to say that I love this place...I have never had pork chops so big and so good. They are my favorite. That with greens and potato salad. I've only been here for the seafood so I can't comment on chicken or pork chops but the shrimp are greatly seasoned as well as the whiting fillets. the crab cakes can be hit or miss at times, sometimes a tad too salty for my tastebuds. The cabbage and sweet potatoes are to DIE for !
