I recently converted all my old physical pictures to digital using Smooth Photo Services. I had additional requirements to edit the metadata of the photos so that they'd be sortable and searchable when I uploaded them to Google Photos. Despite this being an uncommon request, Brandon was very willing to work with me and sent me a sample along the way to confirm that he was editing the metadata correctly. I had considered using other services, but I found Smooth Photo Scanning to be the best option because they gave me the best price and because they do all the scanning in house without shipping my photos to another state. It just feels better to look someone in the face and discuss the project when you are handing over the only copy of your precious memories. I had tons of questions and Brandon was extremely patient and had the expertise to answer all of them. My photos all look great, much better than if I had tried to scan them myself and without having to sacrifice an entire summer of weekends to get it done! I'm very happy with the result; I will definitely recommend Smooth Photo Scanning to friends and family, as well as use them again myself for the remainder of my digitizing needs. Thank you Brandon! read more

I had nearly a dozen unlabeled, outmoded micro-cassettes, with no way to play them but a suspicion some priceless family memories were trapped in them. I asked Smooth Photo Scanning for an estimate to convert the audio tapes to mp3, which they rapidly provided, and further requested expedited handling for one micro-cassette I thought might be especially valuable. Smooth Photo Scanning did everything I asked, quickly, professionally, and under budget. Brandon converted all the micro-cassettes to mp3, sent me the "special" mp3 within a day or two. completed the entire conversion of the tapes very quickly, and provided me with a meticulous final accounting (including credit for tapes he found blank), with the originals returned to me in pristine condition. And the final bill came in under the original estimate. Wow! This was my first experience with Smooth Photo Scanning (or any media conversion/retrieval company) and it was superb, fast, responsive, and economical, Given the personal attention and speed of Smooth Photo Scanning, I would not hesitate to recommend Brandon and Smooth Photo Scanning for ANY media retrieval, restoration, or conversion project. read more

Highly recommended! I had a box of two dozen Beta tapes from the 1980's sitting in my garage and, after 30 years, I finally decided that I needed to do something with them. One option was to toss them out and say goodbye to them forever but I'm glad I chose the other/better option - Taking and entrusting them to Brandon and his team at Smooth Photo Scanning to be transferred into MP4 format. Now I have all of that long unseen material condensed on an easy to watch Flashdrive that plugs into my laptop and Smart TV. The quality of the transfers is even better than I imagined it could be and it's great to be able to enjoy so many of the memories that I preserved during my teenage years come back to life. I live two hours away and felt comfortable enough after having Brandon talk me through the process that I happily made the trip to drop the box off in person. It was a big project but was finished in a timely manner at a reasonable price and now that my order has been successfully completed I look forward to dropping off even more tapes. Next up, the 1990's and the VHS era! read more

I had an excellent experience with Smooth Photo Scanning. My father and I went through a +30 year old storage unit and found many of old photo albums, slides and film from his youth in the 50's and 60's. I did some research and was so pleasantly surprised to find a local company and signed up for their services online and shipped out one huge box filled of our precious memories. Brandon and his team carefully scanned and replaced all the images from the photo albums (not an easy task as some images were smaller than a credit card) as if they were never touched. They sorted out all duplicates and put them aside. It really was a job you know they did with care and respect. They will be offering the images to be downloaded through a link soon, which will be amazing to make sharing easier with family and friends. Would 1000% use Brandon again for any scanning job. They are very dependable and trust worth and best of all, fantastic pricing! Thank you. Kathy read more

Adding my voice to all the 5 star reviews - so glad I took on the project of getting some of my pre digital photo albums (thousands of photos), and a sampling of my old 3/4", betacam, and vhs tapes transferred. Now I don't have to haul out those old heavy albums - I have easy access to everything on my desktop and available to send to family and friends for a walk down memory lane. I was not comfortable shipping my materials so was thrilled to find Smooth Photo Scanning only a half hour drive away. Brandon was always available to speak to when I had a question - he spent a lot of time both on the phone and in person patiently answering my questions and assuring me that my precious albums and tapes would be secure while at his facility and that all would be handled with care during the transfer process. Have already used their service twice and plan to be back. Customer service exceeded expectations. They know what they're doing and do it so well! read more

I highly recommend Brandon and Smooth Photo scanning. I had over 40 VHS tapes that dated back to 1992 to have converted to digital. I had 2 companies that I found on line. My main objective was to have them converted to DVD's. Brandon suggested putting all the video footage on a flash drive as well. What a great idea. You just plug it into your smart TV and all the footage is there labeled into files. I am very glad he suggested it. The flash drive is the best! Brandon told me the job would take approximately 2 weeks to complete. In less than 2 weeks I received an e-mail they were ready to be picked up. We picked up the DVD's and flash drive 2 weeks before Christmas and are still enjoying going through the footage to this day. He also matched the price that I was quoted from the other company. As a project/product manager, I was tasked by a century-old foundation to create an Internet media archive, starting with digital scanning of a collection of twelve-thousand items. The first project phase was finding the best service candidate for scanning. The media was priceless and irreplaceable. Plus, we wanted great results at a fair price. During the eval. phase, after a full/formal RFP process, I was shocked at how unresponsive/unprofessional most of these business were. The clear standout - both responsive and professional - was Smooth Photo Scanning. SPS never missed a beat, did a great job, and was even cost-competitive. Brandon very clearly cares about the quality of his work, and his company's reputation. I suggest you consider them first. (Honestly, the competition for this contract work wasn't too close.) read more

This crew is incredible. From start to finish, everything was professional about the process, quick, and the end result was worth every penny. I was very nervous about trusting a company to convert all of my videos to digital format. A friend highly recommended Smooth Photo Scanning and I couldn't be happier that she did. Hearing my grandparents' voices again for the first time in years was incredible. The digital formats were very clear, especially considering some of the tapes were not high quality when my family purchased them years ago. Although I dropped off and picked up everything, they also offered a shipping option. They make everything very convenient. Will definitely recommend to others! read more

This is the place you want to convert your analog tapes to digital. I tried iMemories, Kodak Digitizing, and Legacy Box. They all had fair-to-good results, bad customer service, lengthy turnaround times, and huge expense (some services charged me for tapes they couldn't read; no refund). I finally found Smooth Photo Scanning (SPS) because I had rare-format tape masters I needed transferred. SPS not only converted these old, out-of-date formats, but they turned the job around quickly, were very helpful over the phone, and responded personally to my emails. Brandon, the owner, was especially responsive and helpful. Please don't waste your money, time, and energy on the big services. read more

I can't begin to express how grateful I am to Smooth Photo Scanning! I was looking for a company that could help me restore an old military photo that I only had a copy of and not the original of my deceased father. I tried a few other companies who said they were not going to be able to do anything. I spoke with Brandon and this company made a miracle happen. They literally worked magic. The best part was for the work they did the price was extremely reasonable. I thought this was going to be a lost cause, but then I reached out to Smooth Photo Scanning and they made this dream a reality. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking to restore old family treasures! read more

I cannot say enough about this company. For one thing, if you call them someone, A PERSON, answers your call! They have scanned in 1000s of negatives and 30-ish old movies and audio tapes for us! Their work is professional and exemplary! We recommend them whole heartedly to anyone who needs their services. They are very nice to talk to. In Fact, I recommend you open their website and then give them a call and they can get you all set up! Very reasonably priced - particularly if you have A LOT of things for them to do! So get everything collected and send it all in! Worth every penny! You will not be disappointed! read more

Smooth Photo Scanning does wonderful professional work. Brandon digitized all of my tapes (VHS Hi8mm and MiniDV) in a very reasonable amount of time. He did an outstanding job. The customer service is exceptional. He quickly answered each and every one of my emails with very helpful information. He also answered all of my questions during phone calls too! Since I live in another state, I mailed all of my tapes to Smooth Photo Scanning. And once everything was do, they put all of my digitized files on an external drive. They returned all my tapes to me in excellent condition. I am very happy with their service! read more

I was apprehensive about trusting my films and videos to be handled by someone else. However, Smooth Photo Scanning now has my full trust. They converted my 16mm,8mm, and super 8 films and also video tapes and have exceeded my expectations. Now I don't have to worry about maintaining three projectors, split films, and lugging out a screen every time I want to view a movie. Also, I can now select a single frame from a movie or video and make a still picture and also since everything is digitized my worries about film and video degrading are over. I wanted to transfer old 35mm negatives to digital. They contained important memories and one-of-a-kind photos I had taken. So finding the right company to do the job was an important consideration. I chose Smooth Photo because there was no middle man in the process and no outrageous minimum order needed. They completed the order in 48 hours and I was able to download the photos immediately. Every aspect of my experience was outstanding: convenience, price, customer service, quality of work and clear communication. I would not hesitate to use them again! read more

I'm an artist. I needed to have 1200 slides scanned and digitalized so I could put them up on my website. I worried about doing this for years before getting up the courage; worried about entrusting my life's work to ANYONE. If something happened to those slides, it would be like having my life disappear. I'll just say that I felt led to Smooth Photo Scanning. From the first conversation on, I felt certain I had found the right place. Small operation. Like family. Addressed all my concerns. Came through beautifully. Thank you for everything. read more

We had over 400 old school photos that needed to be digitized. The process was simple to send in our photos to a secure location using a prepaid label. I did have to email initially for assistance, but they were very responsive. It did take a few weeks to scan but the quality was amazing. We got a temporary online gallery link and paid for an extra USB. The originals were shipped back safe and secure. Overall, Very satisfied with the service and would recommend Smooth Photo to anyone wishing to capture their memories in a digital format. read more

I contacted Brandon when I realized that I needed to have my wedding video put onto a DVD. He was very friendly, courteous and reassured me that this transfer would be smooth. A few days later he contacted me saying the process was complete. Not only did they do a great job in a very short amount of time and at a reasonable price, they also provided me with a digital download of the video as well. Great job by Brandon and all at Smooth Photo Scanning. I will be bringing all of the photos I have that need to be digitized as well. read more

I used to Brandon and Smooth Photo Scanning for an extremely large and sensitive job. We needed our family photos, over 10,000, digitized and preserved, as our son had passed away and we wanted to make sure we had these cherished memories forever. Brandon and his team were very helpful from every aspect, from coming to our home to retrieve our photos, to keeping us updated during the process, to safe return of our original hard copy photos and videos. I highly recommend Smooth Photo Scanning Services. read more

Brandon at Smooth Photo Scanning is amazing! I avoided having my VHS tapes copied for years because these were the only recorded moving images of my late husband. He died when my kids were 5 and 8 in 1989. I couldn't even watch the VHS tapes when we had a VCR, and then the tapes were lost to me and to the kids. Brandon has been so sensitive to my feelings and nervousness. He is patient and respectful and is a superb human being. I cannot recommend Smooth Photo Scanning highly enough. Don't DELAY. read more
