I would like to give a big thank you to Matthew and his crew. They moved me and my daughter on September 1, 2017, and were awesome. They were prompt and very hardworking and fun to work with. Very satisfied...moving day brought us day long heavy rain, but the storage unit was able to be moved right up to the garage, so the guys were able to get things loaded for storage. They worked without stop and even took time to pack items the packing crew forgot. Smooth Move was our initial choice because they were easy to get set up with and unlike the old guard Charleston movers, they don't charge a fuel surcharge, extra for steps, and extra to use a credit card. That and the way the movers worked made us pleased and reassured about our decision. Their storage units are also a superior solution. Of seven moves thus far, Smooth Move was by far the very best experience we've ever had. The owners were extremely helpful, and also very patient and accommodating when our plans changed due to Covid. The moving team of 5 guys was very polite and professional, and they treated our belongings as if they were their own. Everything was wrapped and secured and there was absolutely NO damage to any furniture or other items. We have a number of glass top tables and other fragile items and they took great care with it all. Plus they worked quickly and efficiently, so the process took less time and saved us money. Smooth Move sent 3 gentlemen to help us clear our main floor in preparation for having our floors refinished. This involved loading a truck and clearing a lot of things out of the main floor of my home. I had not fully prepared for them to do their job. They never complained, they just stepped up and loaded and helped pack and make the move go very smoothly. They took care to be gentle with my antiques, protect glass doors and cabinets and still manage to leave room in our garage for one of our cars. Best moving experience I've ever had, from start to finish! Ralph was extremely helpful from the beginning and helped me get everything organized for a very large (6 bedroom home) and a long distance move. Used this company for a move on 3/8/14 and was very pleased with the results. We requested only 2 movers and 1 truck but because one of their other jobs was running late or got cancelled we ended up with 5 movers and 3 trucks! I was worried they were going to try and upcharge me significantly for the extra people and trucks but they didnt - and it made the move go MUCH faster. Many thanks for being punctual and professional during an already stressful time. 8 hours and 5 movers at the end and was 560 bucks - very reasonable and no issues. We had everything you might imagine from concern for family antiques, to some very large and heavy pieces, to a mix of three different destinations for delivery. This team was amazing! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dexter and his team! I am a new widow, and our move was due to an issue with our Landlord's negligence, and so we had to do it literally on the fly. I explained that I was nervous about my budget, and they came in at just over 1/2 the estimate. They were so nice, they didn't care how hard I cried, and everything was absolutely perfect! PROFESSIONAL! Wow! After having a long distance move last year that was absolutely terrible, Smooth Move was a breath of fresh air! I couldn't believe that they were EARLY to the appointment time (~20min), and even apologized for it. Since the payment is due to time spent on the move, I voiced that I wanted to keep my move under 3 hours, and they obliged and still got me complete in 2.5hours. Movers were quick, professional, and very good and handling. Would certainly recommend and use them again. I forget my movers names- but they were great! Then, the team of Jay, Dexter, Zack, Ronald and Demetriess were amazing on the day of the move. I have a good amount of heavy furniture, including an antique, upright grand piano, and they were careful and professional as they moved me out of my apartment and into my condo on Daniel Island. I cannot believe how easy the move was. Alex (manager) and Eric (crew Leader) were unbelievable. Contact was excellent in advance, despite the Pandemic. They arrived for packing and realized they need more help...DONE. Next day was moving day and there were 6 men who moved so fast, I was amazed. Unloading day, 6 bodies again, some different, but just as polite and professional. My move may be anomaly but the final price was 30% less than predicted. Having used Smooth Move in the past, I called them for our long distance move, Alex sent me an email estimate and we were set. On move day, Dario, TJ, and Justin showed up ready to work. Those three guys are the best, very polite, hard working, professional, and careful with our things. They covered our floor on the path where they used their dolly, and covered and wrapped our furniture. They did not take breaks or ever complain about the heat and humidity. If I could leave six stars I'd do it. I've used these guys twice and both experiences were awesome. Always on time, quick but safe movers and they never seem to stop. In the first move, they came in right at the estimate and in the second, they did it an hour faster than the estimate.
