I have used Smooth Move Charleston twice now and they are pros at moving anyone. We had 7+ military moves in our lifetime and this company surpasses any previous moves. Dexter led his crew well and TJ, Justin, and Mel were helpful, so kind, and took time and care with each item. I had made a diagram and labeled everything where it went and they executed the move extremely well. They live up to their move - thank you again for another Smooth Move! read more

Smooth movers out of Charleston not a very good experience. Over two hours late to move us to our new home. The company needs to communicate with there employees much better. The movers thought they were done for the day, and also lacked motivation when they arrived! read more

Great group, very well organized and efficient, a very smooth move. Call Alex to help you out.

Welp - I can't speak to their rates or performance, because they blew me off. They were initially very responsive, friendly, and professional, but after sending a guy named Alex out for an in-home estimate... radio silence. He came out on a Friday and promised to get back to me with a quote either that day or the following Monday - and I never heard from him again. I called on Wednesday to follow up, and no one answered the phone. I called again on Thursday, finally talked to someone, and requested an update. The person promised to let Alex know - but I still haven't heard back. At this point, I'm not interested in hiring Smooth Move, regardless of if/when I actually receive the quote. Their customer service is terrible and they clearly don't care whether or not they get my business. read more

This was the most pleasant experience we have ever had in moving. The three men that moved us in were professional, courteous and efficient. We had a horrible experience with the moving company in Florida that loaded our truck. We would recommend Smooth Move to anyone! We would definitely use this company again. Joe and Judi read more

Bad experience. Gave a list of furniture to be moved and explained they had no boxes to pack or any boxes to move. Was told 6-7 hrs was estimated for the move and the price was advertised at $150. Had to give a deposit of $150 and was told the estimate with driving would be 6-7 hrs. Couldn't ever talk to anyone in person until the night before when I was told the $150 was a base price for 2 movers and they needed a 4 man crew so it would be $300 per hr. When I voiced concern that it was advertised as 150/hr I was told if I didn't use 4 men, it would be a 12 hr job so it would take less time and money to use 4 men. They had me over a barrel since it was too late to get another mover for next day plus they had my deposit. Day of the move the crew showed up in a u-haul, not a company truck. They took 10 hrs to move and in the process of moving broke the feet off of two large sturdy dressers most likely by dragging the pieces on the truck. 3 other things were also damaged. What I calculated to be an approximate $1000 move cost me $2650 plus I now have to have 2 pieces of good furniture repaired and have to deal with 3 other damaged items. I would not recommend that you use a Smooth Move movers because it was anything but a smooth move! I chose them because of reviews on NextDoor, my neighborhood site. Beware!! read more

We had the best team move us today! Marcus, Mark, Marco and Cody were friendly, careful and efficient. They got us done in less time that we thought. They were careful and thoughtful with all of our items. Setting our time up was easy and clear. Checking out was quick and straightforward. read more

Really solid move from our storage unit to townhome. They were on time and worked hard. Couldn't ask for anything more. Would definitely recommend using this company, and definitely will if I ever have to move! read more

I have to say these guys are amazing! Very respectful and careful with your furniture. Also at a reasonable price! After moving us, I noticed there were my head post pieces missing. After a week, I contacted Kevin the manager and sent him pictures. He sent me an email in less than an hour saying he had found them and arranged a date and time to bring them to my home and put them on my headboard. Amazing customer service! Thanks so much for making my day as this bedroom suit is so old and irreplaceable! read more

Smooth Move - Headboard - Movers Near Me - North Charleston, South Carolina

Smoothest move ever! Our crew was friendly, quick, and efficient. I would absolutely use them again.

Smooth move was the best! Marco Antoine and Pierre, were outstanding! Great crew to work with!

I recently used Smooth Move for a small move across town. I just paid for my furniture only--I had packed and moved all boxes of smaller possessions prior. They sent two guys, a mid-size pickup truck, and a trailer to move the furniture only for a 2-bedroom apartment. It took the guys a bit longer than I thought, but they were meticulous in wrapping and padding everything. One bookshelf was significantly damaged, but I was partially compensated for it. Pricing was competitive, owner/manager was very responsive, and overall this was a pretty positive experience. I'd use this company again when needed. read more

Smooth Move is the best. These folks are the exemplars of the moving industry in Charleston. From getting a quote (they actually send someone to look over the move) to moving day they were professional, efficient and friendly. We had to make two moves with them because our house was not ready so we mad a seven month stop in an apartment before the final move. Everything was move to the apartment and then seven month later tot he house. Smooth Move did a great job. Not one plate as chipped and the grandfather clock made the move perfectly. The guys put every piece whre we asked them and in many cases I cannot believe how they were able to get some things into the house. You can not ask for move. I always thought it would take longer, but was surprised at how efficiently they worked. Price of each move was ridiculously reasonable, I expected to pay more. read more

This was absolutely the best move we have ever had, the 3 gentleman who did the job were very professional and careful with our property as to damage anything, we would definitely use them in the future and also highly recommend this company to anyone. Thank you so much! read more

Great company & team/people to move your good safely, efficiently and it all arrives in great shape. They use the blanket and wrap to protect our furniture. The were considerate of our furniture and worked to protect it as we moved. We had packed most of our belongings in boxes, well labeled... to be ready for a day of loading and then unloading. We just moved... very well arranged and coordinated with Kevin. Plenty of info on the Smooth Move website to help get prepared/ready. We had Eric and his well organized, professional, friendly, considerate, determined and high energy crew. A long day... a good day loading up in Myrtle Beach and then moving to Mt. Pleasant with one delivery to a storage facility and then our delivery to our apartment. Everything completed by 5:00pm. WOW!! All was very good and very professional. We are very happy with our move. Thanks Smooth Move!! read more

Julius and his crew kicked ass and took names!! I was amazed at how fast and efficient they were- a five man crew worked like clockwork on both the load and unload. I was highly impressed and would recommend them to anyone. It's obvious that this company knows how to treat its employees- they've got the best!!! read more

Move went great! Our Smooth Move Team arrived on time; got right to work moving us out of a 3rd floor apartment that requires a long walk down two hallways. Loaded up carefully, systematically - unloaded all with care. Nice guys, great teamwork. Highly recommend. read more

We hired Smooth Move to relocate my parents to a senior facility; the amount of damage is almost unbelievable - a curved screen television irreparably cracked, many gouges and broken pieces of antique furniture, and they even smashed the control panel of their washing machine. They also concealed damage from us. In following up, they have been unsympathetic and unresponsive. Don't use them under any circumstances. They are highly unprofessional and unwilling to take proper responsibility for the thousands of dollars of damage they made to the items they moved. read more

Tried to reach out to these people several times to get quotes for moving through multiple methods and found it either very difficult to get a quote or even a response. Their services may be good but they really need to work on responding to potential customers. EDIT: (in regards to business owners response): The original request for proposal was in March of 2019, where no voicemail was returned. The second request was via Yelp in June 2019 and after realizing this was the same company we quested a quote from in March and received no response we decided to leave feedback. Note that the most recent quote was only received AFTER we posted negative feedback about the business. read more

Third time was the charm! We had a bad experience with Two Men and a Truck out of North Carolina and with College Hunks Move Junk locally for the move out of our storage unit. I called Smooth Move and was quickly able to reschedule our move from our apartment. These guys were great!! Prompt, friendly and took great care with our belongings. They wrapped and protected all our furniture. The other companies told us the would but did not and almost all our wood furniture was damaged Wish we had used Smooth Move from the beginning!! read more

We have used Smooth Move several times over the last five years, and we can't imagine using any other company. The guys are always nice, quick and reliable. Yesterday we had two trucks, five guys and three different location drop-offs, and it all came in several hundred dollars under budget. Not a scratch on anything, and the entire crew was happy, energetic and actually seemed to be liking their job. They made moving fun. Smooth Move is the best. read more

These guys are awesome! From the ease of scheduling through the move. Everything went so smoothly, just like their name. Demetrius gave us a 30 minute courteous call. He, Marion and Artee worked effortlessly Together to get it all done in just under 3 hours. Thank you so much for providing professional moving services locally! read more

The worst. They broke my stuff, lost entire pieces of furniture, were supposed to pack up the kitchen but left behind piles of items in the cabinets. When we got to the place I was moving to, they were sullen and annoyed that they had to carry furniture and boxes to the top (3rd) floor. I called the owner about the broken and lost furniture, but realising that these things were irreplaceable and no amount of money could replace them, I let it go. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. read more

Not open on Sunday! What moving com[any is closed on the last day of the month? July 31

I moved from NYC to SC and had a specific time window for moving. The previous move they were doing lasted a little longer than expected and in order to get to us in time they sent a third man to the previous job and to us for no charge. Not to mention, they showed up earlier than expected and had my entire truck unloaded, bed put together, and were out the door in under an hour. They were so efficient, kind, and did not break one thing. They really care about their customers and I could see that through their communication and skills. I will definitely use them again. Thank you guys so much for everything! read more

My husband and I had used Smooth Move a few months ago and had a great experience. They were able to help us last-minute, when another moving company did not show up, last minute. So, we wanted to use them again! The people in the office were responsive and patient. The one frustration with the process was that not all fees were quoted initially, and not until I spoke with another staff member a couple days after scheduling. The movers, Irvin ,TJ and Flood, were wonderful! They were polite, fun and hard-working. Overall, it was a positive experience and we will use them again. read more

I had a terrible experience with Smooth Move this summer/fall. The movers were unprofessional and the owners/schedulers were very disorganized. The movers broke a number our furniture pieces and blamed it on the shifting on the truck. Some of the items were antiques and difficult to repair and replace. The movers were also HOURS late showing up with no communication and no explanation. The movers were rude (except for one man) and all of them refused to wear masks, despite the COVID pandemic. I helped them move all day and wore a mask the entire time. I understand that this is a hard job, but the movers didn't seem to have experience at all. I had to ask them multiple times to wrap pieces of furniture and large breakable items. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I would have been better off hiring a few people off the street. read more

These guys were excellent. Efficient and kind, helpful and cheerful. They arrived on time to load my first house and were super patient while our closing took longer than expected. They unloaded super fast and put everything where I needed it to go. Great service, will definitely use again. read more

My move started out with the drivers showing up high and then took the 1.5 hours to move to bedroom sets. Than we get to where we are going and found that they broke a bunch of fragile items and tore up a $1200 leather couch. And then the company expects to be paid. Worst service I have ever had. My house stunk of weed and my wife had to get it out before the owner showed up. read more

TJ and Darryl were great! Worked very hard and fast for us. Competitive pricing and very easy to book. Our only complaint would be we wish Kevin would have been a little bit more apologetic when he informed us the truck was going to be late but besides that it was a Smooth Move ;) read more

I called Smooth Move at the last minute on a Saturday afternoon and they were able to fit me in their schedule for Monday, which was a miracle for me. They actually arrived early, moved quickly and were so polite and respectful. I will definitely use them again in the future and recommend them to others. Thanks Smooth Move for making my move so painless! read more

Smooth move did an excellent job with our move from downtown and we will definitely use them again! We have tried two other local moving companies and were always disappointed. Smooth Move was friendly, quick, clean, and efficient, and nothing was damaged! And please note we have lots of large pieces of furniture and antiques, and they took really great care to wrap everything and transport it with care. read more

We could not have been more pleased with the guys from Smooth Move!! They were so efficient and worked so hard and quickly! They moved heavy furniture from one floor to the next for us that was already in the house. They remained on site till everything was to our liking! They were courteous as well! They get high marks from us and highly recommend Smooth Move! read more

Quick and efficient. We had issues with two pictures being broken. I'm not sure if they were the ones who broke them, or if it was the previous movers we used. read more

I called for an estimate from Summerville to Raleigh. I have a one bedroom and office. I was told that's going to be about $3,000. No one asked what furniture I had. Nothing. When I called the company back since the "estimator" worked part time and on his own hours, I was told it was because they were a small company. I advised that I moved from D.C. to Charleston for less than that. Ridiculous. If you don't do distance moves, don't waste my time. The response provided by the company is irrelevant and my review stands as is. I was not happy and had excellent move for half that through another company. I told your estimator at the time I would complain. Someone should have followed up with a phone call. And rather than generically posting a response, AGAIN maybe a phone call would be better. read more

The moving team showed up with an extra guy on the house. They were professional and did a great job moving our home to storage and our newer much smaller place. We really appreciate the work they put in to get us set up. Highly recommend Smooth Move! read more

These guys are very professional. You will not find a better team to move you at a better price. I'd recommend them to anyone. I'd use them over and over but thankfully I don't have to move again anytime soon. They are quick, efficient and I was beyond happy with the final cost. Great group of guys! read more

My sister recently moved to Chs and hired this company to help her unload the moving truck. They were very courteous and efficient with the whole process. Called a day in advanced to confirm the time and place, then called 15 minutes prior to scheduled arrive time and showed up early. Nothing was damaged and they took special care with fragile items. I watch the whole process and was impressed. They estimated an hour of unloading time and were dead on. Price was very reasonable and worth every penny. I will be hiring them again when my wife and I move soon. read more
