Incredible experience working with Christ Movers LLC. I've moved nearly 20 times in my life, so far, and this was one of the absolute best experiences I've had working with a moving company, and this one was not even for myself. A close friend was hospitalized in the middle of a self-move, and we needed to find movers FAST to help. I was referred to Dez and Christ Movers from a maintenance man at my friend's old building. I was nervous about hiring last-minute movers without having a chance to do my research. Sometimes things go very badly when you are desperate, but wow, if ever there was a time to feel blessed, it was now. I called, and while I did not get an answer, (they were wrapping up a job) I took a chance and sent a text to the office phone, and they responded back! They thankfully had same-day availability. What a huge relief after a really tough week. They do require a $50 deposit to secure the job, and yes, it was a risk to pay it without speaking on the phone first. Even though the correspondence was over text, I willingly paid it because it was a small ask for the situation we were in. When I tell you I needed someone fast, I mean like immediately. My friend had exceeded his move-out date and was stuck in the hospital unable to do anything. I sent the Zelle. Dez and Tonya, the co-owners kept in touch with me about arrival time and their two guys were able to show up within about 1.5 hours. Obviously this won't be everyone's experience, because I'm sure they will only get busier as word gets out about their amazing work. Truly lucky that they could fit us in. They handled my friend's belongings with care and patience. The team communicated well along the entire move. They are mindful of visualizing space in order to get the logistics right for how to load and unload the truck, and how to get everything in the right order going on and coming back off of the truck. They used moving pads and blankets to take care of my friend's heavy wood furniture. It was a long walk down a hallway to the freight elevator and the move took a couple of hours longer than originally quoted. The price was very fair in the beginning and in the end. I got a quote, and in case moving is not something that you do often, just always be prepared for the quoted amount to change. This is the norm because unforeseen things happen. The original quote was for 4 hours and two men, but my friend had a lot of items and a much longer distance to the truck than they were able to see over text. I was just so appreciative of everything. A 4-hour, 2-man job ended up being a 6-hour 3-man job, but Dez adjusted the price in a very fair and reasonable manner. In the end, the final price was well-within what we were bracing ourselves for, all circumstances considered! Everyone was very kind and extremely professional. Dez has a really great energy about him and an amazing story of overcoming a lot. While I won't be moving homes myself anytime soon, I do look forward to hiring Dez for his other businesses in other home and renovation services! When you meet someone, shake their hand, and just know they're trustworthy, and then they come through, that is how good business is really done. Dez and Tonya are a truly great business pairing, and I would recommend Christ Movers with confidence every time. *** DO NOT USE**** I hired this moving company to pack two PODS for a cross country move. I wanted to hire a "professional" packing company to maximize space and fit my belongings in the PODS. I had two major downsides with this company. The owner and the packing job. The packing of the pods was very unprofessional. They left approximately 3 FEET of open space at the top of each pod. This allowed items to shift during the move and alot of stuff not to fit. I had to spend two days repacking the PODS to fit my stuff. Towards the end of them packing when they realized 1/4 of my stuff was not going to fit, one of the workers said " this is why I always pack". So essentially I could of saved the money and just packed myself for the unprofessional packing job they did. The major issue is the owner and lies. During the move my $2000 king bed frame was damaged when the workers left it free standing on my driveway. Luckily I was outside to witness when the wind blew it over to crack the wood and knock metal pieces off of it. The worker immediately contacted Dezzy ? The owner and informed him of what happened. Dezzy told me on the phone that it was "an act of nature" and they are not responsible for items that they are not "actively" moving. The guys left it unsecured on the driveway to make space in the pods. I advised Dezzy that it was not even wrapped in a moving blanket. Dezzy agreed to cover the damages once I advised him of that. I heard him tell the worker on speakerphone after that "they need to wrap everything because since it wasn't wrapped he did not have an excuse not to pay" . Anyways his word does not mean much because it has been 4 months and they never paid the insurance claim. They also have not responded to multiple emails about the matter and I am out the money. AVOID and pay alittle more for better service! read more

I'm not one to write reviews really but I had to give credit when due. I reached out 2 days before my move, and got emailed responses and booked all within one hour. I did the 2 hours w/ 2 men & truck deal ( $349 ) and the guys got my move done in exactly one hour. And I was on the second floor so that says a lot. I'm very thankful to have found them! I appreciate the cautiousness of my stuff when they moved, fast time frame, and quick responses. Definitely will recommend and use again on my next move! The owner advised me on booking 2 movers for basically a one bedroom apartment from West Ashley to the northern side of Daniel Island. Estimating 3 hours would be enough time. I was budgeting for 4 hours. I didn't even have a living room set, bought a new one delivered the following day from the furniture company. The move ending up taking 6 hours & I think I ended up paying for their lunch break. 4 years ago I moved from MA to Charleston from a 2 bedroom to a 2 bedroom and I ending up paying the same price. The final negative experience was when the bill was emailed me it included a 15% tip on the total price. That was the 1st time the tip was included on the bill for a moving service I've used. I had planned on giving them each $40. The guy said I could adjust the tip but didn't want to be seen as cheap after it was already on the bill. Sorry I can't recommend Christ Movers read more

I had 2 guys come to my house for 2 hours and move heavy items to a pod. They were such hard workers. Came in I told them what I wanted moved and they worked nonstop and filled up the pod like pros. I drove from DC to Charleston with furniture to move my daughter into her apartment while she attends CofC. I planned on unloading on July 4th, a holiday. I didn't plan on my daughter's apartment being loaded with old Southern stairs. I also didn't plan on it pouring rain. I called movers in a panic and everyone was closed. I got a hold of Christ Movers. They probably understood my desperation. They came, moved the furniture like it was nothing, and were polite and courteous while doing so. They saved the day!!! Absolutely amazing company. These guys came in and handled our big and small belongings with the upmost care and respect you could ask for. I was nervous about moving bc we've had some bad expierences in the past but this team is the absolute best around! A horrible experience with these movers. Right now, during the height of Covid, these guys showed up without masks. We provided masks, which one of them wore pulled down beneath his nose. Another guy showed up without a mask at all. Then the owner came over, also wearing a mask beneath his nose. Nevermind that I'm high-risk. Clearly no one cared. The service was also very bad. First, they showed up around 2 hours late. They had given us an estimate for the move, but the final price ended up being THREE TIMES as much. The movers were definitely in no hurry, as they are getting paid by the hour. Tell me - should it take over 15 hours for 'professionals' to move the contents of a two-bedroom apartment?? Let's just say that we ended up having to sleep on a bare mattress in the middle of the move, in an empty house, because they weren't able to finish in one day and all of our stuff was still locked up in their truck. The owner advised me that the mowers would be there at 9am on Monday. The movers were an hour late but the owner called and texted me apologizing for the inconvenience. Three guys showed up. They were all friendly and funny. I really had a good time with them. The move did take about 6 hrs instead of 4 hours as quoted and the price reflected that. They did wrap everything, and nothing was damaged. They were very careful not to damage anything in the new house. The men work really hard. If you are a customer, please get them something to drink when they work in the heat. I offered them Gatorade and water/soda. I definitely recommend Christ Movers. read more

BEWARE! We needed movers and contacted Tonya for a quote. We were quoted $99/ an hour & $99 for a truck, and she thought we'd need 4 hours. We accepted the quote and paid the deposit. Day of the move, they arrive with a quote of $155/ hour and a small short truck for a move from a 2600 sq ft home?! Tonya called and we agreed upon $125/hour because there was a 3rd guy and it would take a lot less time. SEVEN HOURS later.... we were paying a $1100 bill for moving. I paid in full even though the movers lost screws to the bed frame, damaged two items, and misplaced the power cords to the TVs. Made a claim and was assured they'd make it right. The coward owner was supposed to call me, never received the call. Desi wrote me a blurb in square, where he refunded me $25 for the damage to my property, saying they are not liable for damage to delicate materials. Slap in the face! I would NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. Completely regretful of my decision to hire a bunch of ex-cons that profess their "faith" and honesty but are complete swindlers. Damaged multiple valuable items in my cross town move, with promises to make it right that were never upheld, costing me hundreds in damages and an irreparable piece of furniture. Final bill was nearly twice the quote, work wasn't completed, and personal items and bathroom were rifled through when unsupervised. Then tried to charge additional $$ (discounted slightly) to finish the job they didn't do, which they then never showed for. (Maybe to avoid addressing the damaged items they never fixed!?!?) Staff are paid by the hour so they are in no hurry to complete the job, which dragged on and on at my expense. Go with a professional company that has quality standards of service...these guys have neither. read more

Went thru 3 different companies, until I found Christ movers. They delivered within 3 hours of me speaking to the owner. So, I went back for seconds. He delivered on the exact time I'd asked. This was the worst experience of our life. They piled heavy items on top of fragile items. Our boxes were destroyed. Several pieces of expensive gym equipment were ruined. They were slow and did a terrible job packing the truck. It took two days for a job that should have been 8 hours. When we asked for their insurance information to file a claim on all the damaged items, they refused to provide it and blamed us for the damage that their terrible service caused. I had to find a moving company last minute when my husband, who is military, had to leave early unexpectantly. Seeing a company w/ a Christian name made me investigate b/c I needed a company who would treat me like a person and not just a client. This company treated me like family and helped us w/ all the inconveniences that kept popping up throughout the process on my end. Devonta Middleton, Deltavis Wallace, Don Dixon, Romonte Dixon, and Dessi were all part of my moving crew at one point or the other. All were beyond polite and very professional. Ms. Tonya was always quick to respond to my emails with all the million questions I had. I appreciated the care they gave to my possessions and my homes on both ends. The price seemed high at first, but they definitely worked hard and earned their moneys worth. These men don't lolly gag and try to waste time to extend the hours, and therefore the pay. They even clocked out for any breaks they took and never took the full break time they said they were going to, they got right back to it as soon as possible. Thanks to all for your help. I NEVER respond to Yelp, but can no longer keep quiet.. I called to schedule this mover because of their Christian name. Spoke to owner and scheduled a move. No one came out to look at our house. Two men came with a small truck, complained about heavy furniture, walked slowly around.. boss sent another man out after 5 hours and bigger truck. These guys verbally fought between themselves and one went to the truck to sit. Finally, after 10 hours they were unloading at new place. They taped completely around the drawers, Even the freezer (which was turned on it's end and frozen glass items were turned upside down) Then turned things upside down to make fit in truck. They left some of our outdoor furniture saying "it won't fir, were done" My husband actually helped load trucks to hurry things along. We are 70. There are dings in our doorways and on our walls from their unloading. One complained that he needs to leave soon, because of his wife. The owner charged us by the hour and then asked us to tip his men. We were appalled. Be that as it may, I am sorry to do this but ever time I try to untangle a drawer or see a ding in the woodwork, I cringe. read more
