I brought my 9-year-old son in for a simple short taper fade with only 1-2 inches left on top left due to sensory sensitivities. A reference photo was shown. What he walked out with looked nothing like what was requested. The cut was uneven, choppy, poorly blended, and had to be fixed by another stylist at Ray's -- who even admitted it was difficult to correct because of how badly and how uneven it was done. What disappointed me most was not just the haircut itself, but the way the situation was handled afterward. Instead of apologizing and taking accountability, the owner, who had cut my son's hair, became defensive, sarcastic, and repeatedly hid behind "42 years of experience" and claiming that it was a "miscommunication" rather than simply acknowledging the haircut was botched. I was only offered half of my money back because he technically "performed the service," even though I had to pay someone else at another location to repair it. At that point, It's not even worth it. I've been taking my son to Hall Of Fame since he was 2 years old and I have never ever had to deal with this severe of a problem before. I understand mistakes happen, and I would have respected honesty and professionalism. However refusing to own them and treating customers dismissively is the real problem here. A sincere apology and proper resolution would have gone a long way. Sadly, that was not my experience. Thankfully hair grows back. However, i will not be returning again. They always know exactly what I want done and always go the exra mile. They only hire stylists that are experienced. My stylist informed me on that. The stylist always makes sure my hair is cut and styled the way I want it. The vibe is good. Everyone seems to know their stylist very well and it's always a good atmosphere when you are there. The price is never bad either. Always a good price.
