I went to St. Elmo Spa with my mom and sister-in-law to get manicures and pedicures before my wedding. It was our first time here and I'm really glad that I found this place! It's a cute little spot that felt very clean and organized. They have water and coffee/tea for guests which is a nice touch. It was really great to have the nail area to ourselves while we were there. Me and my sister-in-law got our manicures done while my mom waited (there are only 2 nail stations at the moment) but my mom was able to sit with us and chat so it was no problem at all. They got the spa manicure which included the paraffin treatment and I know they really liked that. There were a lot of colors to choose from and everyone found something they liked. I got dip nails with tips and Claire did a great job! She helped me pick out a style and it looked great. (and still does, almost 2 weeks later!!) All 3 of us were able to get our pedicures at the same time. I definitely loved the hot towel/paraffin treatment with the spa pedicure. It almost put me to sleep but Claire was kind enough to make me a cup of coffee..I had a lot to do the day before my wedding, no time for a nap!! We found all of the staff friendly and easy to talk to. They gave us a relaxing and pampering morning before the hectic wedding weekend kicked into full swing. read more

This is the second year I have gone to the St Elmo Spa. I was happy with the services last year and came back again this year. Samatha was my nail tech expert again this year. And once again she did a great job. She is not only a wonder at making my nails look great, she also listens carefully to how I wanted them to look. She does a great job. And she is very kind. My husband and I booked some services at St. Elmo's Spa while we were in town for an anniversary trip in November. I started out with a myofascial/deep tissue massage with Jacki and it was incredible! Jacki has a wealth of knowledge and experience, it was one of the best massages I've ever had -- I loved the special techniques she used, and still felt great for days afterwards. I followed that up with a spa pedicure by Maggie. She took exceptional care with my tired, busted feet! She's a true artist who is serious about details, and it shows in her work. The space itself is really beautiful, and all of the staff are sweet and friendly. The only negative is how far St. Elmo's is from my house! If I lived closer I'd be coming back constantly. I've edited my review to give the spa 5 stars because the response from the owner totally made sense. Thanks for the quick and polite reply! Let me start with the positive: My appointment for a Raindrop Therapy session with GiGi (I'm probably getting the spelling of her name wrong, but she said it was GG or GiGi) was blissful. My therapist was wise, empathetic and experienced; the environment was serene, safe and clean; and the session was restorative and calm. I plan to book another Raindrop Therapy session -- preferably with GiG -- in the future and I recommend others who appreciate a more spiritual message experience to do the same. I regret including any negative feedback in this review, I hope management will find this helpful. It was difficult to reach the spa via phone when booking the appointment. When I did reach a receptionist, I learned the receptionist didn't have access to the therapist's calendar. Therefore, I gave the receptionist 2 possible times that would work for me, my name and number, and she promised to call when she set a time with the therapist. However, I never heard back and it was again difficult to reach the spa via phone, so I assumed nothing would come of it. A few days later -- about 10 minutes after the first possible appointment time would have started -- I got a text from the spa, asking where I was. I had to scramble to rearrange my schedule and find childcare in order to get to my appointment. I didn't want the therapist to lose time and money, but it wasn't the greatest way to start a session. It's not the end of the world! I'm only sharing because I hope the spa can iron out some bugs in the system so others can enjoy its services. read more

I have loved every service I have ever received at the St.Elmo's Spa. I have gotten massages, facials, pedicures and manicures. Their technicians are really personable and experienced. I would say that I feel like they are taking advantage of having a "corner market" inside the institute grounds, and their prices truly reflect that. That is why they got 4 stars instead of 5. Recently, I got a shellac manicure and it did not turn out well. When I got home I got a chance to look at it well and decided for what I paid (which was not cheap, even coming from California), I needed to say something. So I went back in and expressed my dissatisfaction. The owner called me personally and invited me back for a redo, and gave me some money back. He expressed that he really likes to have happy customers. This really made a difference to me because I rarely complain. If you get a pedicure, ask for Heather, she gives the BEST long foot massages. I would recommend this spa to anyone in the area for a special treat. Nice work St. Elmo's! read more

We came to Chautauqua for an overnight and last minute decided we wanted spa treatments. Julie bent over backward to accommodate three of us. Our massages and other treatments were phenomenal. Sara, who was my masseuse, did both reflexology and massage and was terrific. She also did Reikki and a scrub for one friend. My other friend had Lauren who did both also and loved her. My wife called and got last minute reservations for us to get pedicures today. She told them multiple times on the phone that we are not from the area and have never even been here before. So we go, and find out you need passes to get into the Chautauqua Institution area, which was not explained to us. So I go get the passes and am told I have to park in the main parking lot and walk into town, instead of driving in, which at this point I'm already late for the appointment. Then we go to park and they tell us it's $9 to park because we didn't purchase a parking pass, which no one ever told us. I had no cash, so we left and did not go to our appointment. The woman on the phone and the people at will call never explained all the costs, just to get into this town. We also tried to call to let them know we were running behind and no one even picked up the phone. read more

I am very unhappy with my nails, and its not an issue that can be fixed. For whatever reason the nail technician could not remove my previous gel nail polish so she opted to sand down my nails resulting in them now being so thing that the bend back even with the shallac polish on. My nails were strong and long before but now each nail is a different length. Perhaps the new owner will find more success if she doesn't keep people on just because she is friends with them. The nail technician even spoke about how she got her nails done somewhere else.... I see why. read more

So things started out badly here this year. I am a long time customer and love this spa, but for some reason , there was a miscommunication and when I arrived for my hot stone massage, the "stones were not heated" and the therapist told me she couldn't do my massage. She shrugged her shoulders and as imagined, I left extremely angry at having wasted my time.BUT...later that evening I receved a call. The manager called me, extremely apologetic and offered to comp a massage to make things right. I went back, and Natalie ( not the original therapist) gave me an amazing massage, and the owner, Doug, greeted me, anxious to ensure that I was happy .Really great service and an extra effort to make things right.
