She knows what she's doing and what she's talking about, and really individualizes treatment as me and my sister got quite different treatments but she helped both of us. She will actually take time to discuss risks and benefits of each treatment and lets you choose what you think will work for you. She will give kenalog injections in the face if needed, which can flatten out the pimple within the day. The clinic is quick, whenever I go in, I can go straight to a room. There is no wait time. The main problem at this clinic is the receptionist and the service she provides. There is only one receptionist who has been there for the past few years. She is rude to patrons in person and on the phone, and makes it very difficult to get appointments (which shouldn't be tough because every time we go there it's not busy). Their phone machine is for cancellations only, and they have weird hours and are randomly closed. You literally have to keep calling until the rude receptionist picks up and then she will schedule your appointment within 1-2 weeks, but sometimes the clinic will be closed the day she schedules the appointment for, and they don't call to even let you know. So you show up for your scheduled appointment and the clinic is closed. If I could find another acne clinic in Mississauga that could take me without a referral, I would just go there. It's not worth the hassle and time to call repeatedly for appointments and then show up to find the clinic closed.

I recently visited DeLuke Dermatology for the first time; this was my first-ever visit to *any*…read moredermatologist so I wasn't sure what to expect and was somewhat nervous about my visit until I walked into the building. The waiting area is very bright and welcoming, and everything is so clean - a wonderful first impression that says 'details matter here' and made me feel like my care will be stellar. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. Shortly after arriving (hardly any wait time), I met Dr. Ashley Knavel. She performed a small procedure on me. Now, the procedure itself is not a pleasant one but Dr. Knavel made it bearable and worked quickly and carefully to complete it. It certainly wasn't my favorite part of my day but she did a superb job and was very gentle. I hope to never need this procedure again, but if I do: I'd go back to see Dr. Knavel. I did read the reviews here on Yelp - you should probably disregard *all* reviews prior to 2022. When I was in the office, I learned that this location (353 Kenmore Ave, in Tonawanda) used to belong to *another* dermatologist and that DeLuke Dermatology acquired the space a few years ago when that dermatologist retired, and even expanded the space. It is my understanding that this location has a completely new staff from the staff that was here prior to 2022. Which makes sense because everyone I spoke with or was helped by was very pleasant. Oh, and: they have their own parking lot, with plenty of spaces.

I had grown weary…read moreof my dermatologist after i discovered that the effects of acutane were merely temporary. With amber my skin went from not so great, to the worst it has ever been and then some. She told me time and time again that my skin would get better once my skin finished purging, I just had to trust her approach, and I was ready to believe. For four months, I got peels and extractions, and my skin got worse and worse. Rather than change her approach, she insisted that she was doing right. My skin would be tender and red for weeks after her peels, and I was still getting large painful breakouts. The last straw was when I came in with a large cystic lesion on my forehead. I let her dig into it until it became an open bloody wound bed, even though EVERYONE else in the business knows that you never try to extract a cystic lesion. I literally wore a bandaid on my head to keep it from getting infected. After that I went back to a dermatologist, a different one, but someone I felt I could trust. I now see the people over at Elise Deluke in williamsville. I still get peels, but my face is fine. My skin looks great, and they're not constantly trying to sell me products throughout my treatments. They consult with one another, too, so you know you won't become the victim of one person's hubris.

I felt like a teenager again, avoiding eye contact, caking on makeup... I was totally fed up. So I decided to make the plunge and see an esthetician for a facial. I was nervous but felt like I'd tried everything. Amber is knowledgable and makes you feel comfortable. She assessed my skin and suggested I make a few changes to my routine. I purchased some of the products she sells (ilike brand) and have enjoyed them all. The monthly visits and new routine have totally changed my skin. I'm so impressed with the improvements I've seen over the past few months. I am hopeful with regular visits and consistent home care I'll feel totally comfortable in my own skin!
