What an amazing shop that makes you want to be more sustainable and environmentally friendly. I stopped in here on a Friday after work before they closed to attend a Yelp event. The owner was friendly and explained the process to me. I ended up purchasing a tongue scraper, which I've been wanting to do for a while. I waited to get it from Little Salmon because I try to buy local when I can. I also bought some sunscreen, which I'm excited to see how it is, when Buffalo gets some sun in its life. I also got a 4 tablet pack of the toothpaste tablets. I tried them and love them. I need to go back to this shop ASAP to refill my hand soap containers, dish soap and get more toothpaste tablets. Not only are the tablets great for home use, but I'm thinking when traveling, they will save on space and are TSA friendly.

Wonderful part of Buffalo. I walked in and was immediately entranced! Lots of sustainable options, and the owner is super eager to explain all of her amazing products! More than that, she is willing and eager to provide insights on recycling options in Buffalo. So many cool ways to save the earth, have warm conversation, and enjoy some fantastic smells. Will totally be going back!

I stopped in the shop because it was on the Yelp elite squad to-do list about new things around Buffalo... the proprietor, Tracy is awesome! She really cares about her business, about people, and importantly about Is the Earth... I was given a gift bag with many great items in it and I also purchased a few more things a bar of soap, or dry shampoo and a container of bee's wax wrap that I can reuse. Please shop here, support our local businesses and this one will make you feel good too!

Buffalo's first zero waste shop is here and they start their journey in what was the Lexington Co-op way back when! After catching my eye when walking my dogs, I looked up Little Salmon and saw that they are a zero waste business that sells bath and body care, dish and laundry detergents, reusable bags and baskets and much more. A while ago a friend and I talked about trying toothpaste tablets. Opposed to having and using traditional toothpaste which is wasteful and leaves behind a non recyclable container. Not wanting to commit to ordering online I found the tablets here along with a bamboo toothbrush (compostable and silk dental floss. The floss is sold in a tin that is refillable with spindles which come in silk or bamboo fiber with charcoal. Additionally I finally found a white sage bundle for my cleansing needs and I'm going to give the reusable towels a try. Apparently they are to be treated like paper towels but can be rinsed/washed and reused before being finally composted. I hope to kick off a more eco-friendly, sustainable lifestyle through Little Salmon and oh, be sure to check out the refill station where glass and aluminum bottles (also for sale) can be filled with a variety of detergents.

Little salmon is my favorite place in Buffalo. Every time I come back they have new products too which is awesome. They carry Who Gives A Crap toilet paper which is hands down the best toilet paper and the only kind my husband will let me buy the owner is so nice too and is often there when I stop in. It's so nice to see this place gaining more traction finally because they deserve it. The prices are very fair the duality of products they're offering too. Make sure to bring your own containers to fill up (I ALWAYS forget ) but they do offer free jars to use and you can fill up their products if you're buying them.

Sage and palo santo bundle with lavender. The sage gets the negative energy out, and palo santo invites positive energy back in! $11.50.

Finally made it to this beautiful shop! I have had my eye on it since seeing David C's first review. This is Buffalo's first zero waste shop and it is filled with all sorts of hacks to help you help the environment - from biodegradable garbage bags, to refillable soap stations, bamboo toilet paper, stainless steel straws, dryer balls, and so much more! Plus fun stuff like sage, incense holders, jewelry, soy candles, and much more. I got the sage and palo santo bundle with lavender sprigs and used it to freshen up the energy in my house! Sage first to get rid of the negative, palo santo stick second to invite the positive back in. Woman-owned, and mama-owned. My heart has a soft spot from moms of young children who are making waves like Tracey. I asked her if she uses the biodegradable garbage bags and she said "no", and I realized after it's because there is no waste in her house! Amazing. #Goals Highly recommend you check this place out if you are looking for the next small step you can take to help the world. Tracey is happy to answer any questions without judgement. Located across from The Place and next to Kunis.

New cool biz alert off of Elmwood Ave on Lexington Ave! The Little Salmon is unique shop that offers sustainable options .. for example I bought a small peppermint anti bacterial spray and instead of buying another when I run out it is a reusable bottle. I bought a bigger refill bottle to refill it multiple times. My husband and I both bought stainless steel razors and it is by far the best razor I've ever owned. The make up lines and skin care lines are clean yet reasonable. I love the "Up Circle" skin care line - especially for the colder months when your skin could use more moisture. The Little Salmon also offers shampoo & conditioner refill stations, cool gift options such as candles, drink tumblers, soap, lip balm, etc. The owner Tracy is very informative, friendly, and helpful!! My husband and I have been back multiple times in two months and have purchased items were satisfied with. Check out - Little Salmon on Lexington across from The Place!!

There's a variety of styles and price ranges in the store. For example, you will find a rack of…read moreFree People items right at the front of the store when you enter. This trendy label appeals to the younger, fashion-conscious, crowd. And then scattered throughout the store, especially in the back, there are styles that look a bit dated and ordinary. There are some high-price designer items as well. I think their jewelry section is rather blah. I've never bought jewelry from them. All sorts of used handbags and practically new shoes. Both my teenage daughter and I have bought clothes from here. Something for everyone. What I like about consigning my gently used clothes with this business is that they itemize the clothing that you give them. When the consignment period is over in 3 months, you know exactly which item sold and how much money you will get for it. Unlike another consignment store in the area that just gives you a number for your items and never tells you exactly what sold. Becomes a mystery. And then you have to hunt all over the place to find your items that didn't sell if you want them back. But here, I ask for items that don't sell back and they keep them for me to pick up within a window of time. They take appointments on their website for consigning your things the first few days of the month only. It's very organized and I appreciate that. They may not take many of the items you hope to consign. But at least they're honest and organized.

After winning a gift card to Second Chic at a basket raffle, I was introduced to this store (I also…read morechecked out the Elmwood location). I have come here twice now and I really like it! I don't normally consider myself a thrifter, but I found this store well-organized by style and size and a mix of trendy and classic selections. The staff is very friendly and helpful! The price tags are different colors and the staff, and signs all over the store will tell you which color tags are on sale and what percentage off. The staff can also help you find things, or find similar items if you like something that doesn't fit. They have ample, clean fitting rooms. They will let you know if something looks good on ya! They have a reward program and I don't remember the exact details but I think it's 1 point per dollar spent and at some number of rewards points you get $5 or $10 off. The Williamsville location only carries ladies clothing but the Elmwood location has some men's selections. I think the only thing I didn't like was when I find something I love but it's not in my size, but the bright side is you can go home and try to find it by searching online. After my visit here, I left with 2 items and hunted down 2 other items I loved but were the wrong size online. It's also a fun place to experiment with styles you may not usually wear. Consignment is by appt only so go to their website to set up a date and time for them to go through your items. There is no pressure to buy and it's a very comfortable shopping environment (I took forever in there to be honest). So come have a look! You never know what you may find.

Riley answered the phone and gave me a quick review of what they had in store and made me realize I better stop in. When I got there, she helped me find the perfect pair. Although they were a half size bigger than what I would have ordered and a different color than I had in mind, they ended up being the perfect Sorel wedge sandal and now I'm obsessed. I also was able to use my 30% off bday coupon, which you can use pretty much everything (excludes Birkenstock and another prestige brand I can't think of). What a great deal! Riley also told me I could "double dip" and head over to Sunshine and Bluebirds (right next door). That's where I found more of the Teleties hair clips. These are so great because they lay flat, which omits the uncomfortable feeling of driving with a clip on the back of your head. Brittany who was working at the store, was beyond friendly and easy to talk to. The customer service alone makes me want to go back to both Research and Design & Sunshine and Bluebirds. Pro tip: add yourself to your mailing list and enter your birthday. You'll get a 30% coupon that I can use at both stores.
