Best waxing ever! I've been getting waxed for over five years, and this is the cleanest office and most painless experience ever! (Initial waxing for the first time is always painful just FYI.) I love Tori the owner and her expertise in clean and perfect waxing!!)She is super personable! She uses all natural products that she created on her own! Lastly the ambiance and decoration in her studio is charming! Can't forget to mention her amazing and welcoming receptionist - Theresa! I love it so much that I brought my husband with me today and he was surprised at how it wasn't as painful as he thought it would be. As a guy, and especially with the pandemic still rocking the nation, I was very weary to go get a Brazilian wax anywhere. I'd been adhering to lockdown guidelines and hadn't gone to any establishments that were not essential businesses since March and as you can imagine (please don't), things were getting a little... unkempt... down there to say the least. I had a friend who frequented this place before and told me they were offering a great deal for getting waxes and decided it was time to bite the bullet and finally take care of appearances regardless of my inhibitions with both pain and COVID. I was absolutely relieved upon arrival to see that this business was adhering to social distancing guidelines. I was the only person in the lobby for my entire wait, masks were required for entry, and hand sanitizer was available at the front desk. With one of my two major worries put at bay, I was able to see Kristen for my scheduled appointment and she absolutely put me at ease for the rest of my time there. Her sparkly mask and even sparklier (is that a word?) personality really got me feeling comfortable or as comfortable as one can be while naked from the waist down on an elevated table. The effortless dialogue and surprisingly deep conversation topics took my mind off of everything going on and I was shocked when she announced we were moving onto another section of my body as it felt like the time was just flying by! Kristen is not only an experienced aesthetician with great technique, she also supplied some excellent advice in regards to some personal affairs I had shared with her. Overall, I left the room feeling better than when I had entered and given the circumstances of my visit, I'd say it was a major success. If you're looking for a waxing experience without the dread, Kristen is the person for you! I cannot say enough great things about her and when you walk out of Smooth as Silk with a fresh new confidence, I bet you'll feel the same way too! read more

This is by far one of the cleanest and most welcoming wax salons I've been too. It was so easy to make an appointment and the receptionist was very professional and sweet. The waxologist Tori was amazing. She made it quick and easy with her nice personality and reassuring tone. She was happy, smiling, and I could tell she loves what she does. I had been coming to Smooth as Silk for a few years, up until a few months ago. Since the pandemic closure, I'd always appreciated how accommodating Tori and her crew were, especially to do their best and still offer a wide array of services, during this difficult time. Now my review will specifically be referring to my experiences the past six months and overall how it made me feel. I started to book appointments with a particular aesthetician, for leg waxing, and my overall routine care, facials, underarm waxing, etc.... I'd always love my facials, underarm waxing, and even tried a back facial with this particular aesthetician, and was always impressed. However, whenever it came to leg waxing, and any lower body hair removal, I was repeatedly told to exfoliate the day of my appointments, and the next day after. Now this is the complete opposite of any advice I'd ever received before in regards to safe hair removal, particularly regarding my sensitive skin as well, but I continued to follow her instructions because I believed it would yield better results and she seemed to be professional. I'd repeatedly mentioned how my skin particularly my legs were extremely sensitive, as she saw first hand when she did my leg waxing for the first time, and was still repeatedly told to exfoliate day of and day after. I of course followed her after care instructions and relayed my side effects to her during my next appointment, where I was told again to continue exfoliating day of and day after. Having experienced horrible side effects, I realized this was the worst advice I could have ever received. I also want to mention that the overall communication between my aesthetician at this time and the front desk, was unfortunately not what it used to be. Most of the appointments I booked were in response to deals advertised on their Instagram page, and text message member deals. During some appointments, my aesthetician was completely unaware of any deals having to do with my appointment, and even in some instances, mentioned that services booked with her would not be included with the deals. This was not specified on any advertisement nor when I checked in for my appointment. The last appointment I had with Smooth as Silk was this past August, and I have not rebooked since then. I sincerely do appreciate the hospitality and kindness of Tori and her staff for offering to the best of their ability services and treatments during this time. However I do not plan on returning in the near future. I would love to revisit once the establishment is back on its feet and will gladly be the first in line having seen changes and improvements. read more

If I could give a higher rating than a 5 star I would give a 20! This was my first wax experience and Tori was absolutely incredible! She made me feel comfortable and I was worried about the pain (I have very little pain tolerance) but she was so efficient and has light hands it wasn't bad at all! Tori is so personable and amazing and her mom is pretty awesome too! Tori is extremely knowledgeable and makes her own wax that is amazing and I didn't break out at all!
