There aren't enough stars to give for this review! Alex was great, and the Knoxville Urban…read moreWilderness (KUW) was a blast!! I contacted Alex a little bit last minute, as we had previously planned on going to a different, more self navigable trail. Had heard a lot of neat things about KUW, and had Alex's Knoxville Outdoor Tours recommended by the local MTB organization, Appalachian Mountain Bike Club(AMBC). Even though I kinda got him last minute, Alex was very accommodating and got my ride set up. After riding KUW with Alex, I can tell you, I'm SO glad I procured the services of a guide to ride it. It would take riding there on a regular basis for a while (as Alex clearly has) to get to know all the rights and lefts and in between's!! Plus, Alex knows what's what as far as downhill, cross country, mix of both, and can plan your ride accordingly. Do you want to go 8 miles or 18 miles? Alex will set you up. He's awesome about warning about hazards, twists/turns, trees (above and below), etc., that you might come up on suddenly. He stops as needed. He had snacks and extra water if needed. Alex had a ton of recommendations of where to get after ride food and beverages, and also sights to see in Knoxville area. We went to SoKno Taco Cantina (right up the street from the trailhead we rode from), and I had a beer specially brewed for the AMBC group, called Best Medicine. I also had the burrito platter as suggested by Alex after he kicked my butt for 15 miles!! Lol!! And last, but most importantly, Alex was just a blast and a true pleasure to ride with. I had so much fun, and can NOT say enough good things about this experience!! If you are visiting the area, and want to ride Knoxville Urban Wilderness, you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't use KNOT guide services. I promise you, it is worth EVERY penny!! Thanks again Alex/Knoxville Outdoor Tours (KNOT)

Went for a ride after the skills and he knew the trails needed to practice the skills. Day 2 took a guided tour lead by Will, again an excellent part of the Bike Farm team, took us out to DuPont and shows us some amazing trails, even had chocolate chip cookies after the ride. I highly recommend The Bike Farm for all levels of riders. Thanks JP

Escaped to the mountains from Florida, work and all the crazy of the world for a few days…read more... to find The Bike Farm and we couldn't be happier. Guided Rides - Our guide Josh managed to make it all work perfect; for a mom who is truly a mountain biking beginner, the dad who seems to be able to handle anything and the son who really enjoys a challenge. My point is, they happily accommodate all skills levels. Rental Bike options - it's only first class here with beautifully equipped new Yeti bikes, you will leave wanting one of these babies for sure! Plenty of choices for all rider types/sizes/etc... Location - The Bike Farm is easy to find just outside Asheville proper then a short trip to unbelievable trail options. Your guide will discuss what you want to do, then plan the route accordingly. We originally chose one day then added a second because we just couldn't get enough. If we could have stayed longer, we definitely would have. We took this trip to have an escape and enjoy the outdoors and couldn't be happier that we chose The Bike Farm. When we return to NC, without a doubt we will book again.

Me and two friends enjoyed the rail tour on a recent trip to Andrews, NC. The views are absolutely…read morepicturesque! Enjoy the countryside, rolling fields of grain, cows, streams and mountain scenery. We literally had to stop to let cows cross the track on the way down! This is a unique attraction that lets you see the area in a new way. We had a lot of fun and felt like kids peddling up and down the mountain. The hand carved tunnel at the top was fascinating! It's hard to imagine the scale and effort that went into creating it in the 1800s. I would definitely pack a snack and drink for your break. You have about 20 minutes to look around and take pictures. If you have small children, I'd recommend a small activity to keep them entertained. Here are a few logistics: They are serious about arriving 30 minutes before your scheduled ride. I would actually recommend arriving 45 minutes before if you want to use the restroom, apply sun screen, pack your bag, etc. They begin the safety speech and loading at exactly 30 minutes before. My advice would be to go into this with a good attitude. The pedal assist does really help, but you still need to be pedaling. The way up requires some effort, but going downhill is always easier. If you are not physically able to pedal, I'd recommend their rail cart that does not require pedaling. Our rail bike worked great the entire way up and down. The bike in front of us did experience some issues, but the staff was great at helping and multiple solutions. This is a great locally owned attraction that I recommend supporting to boast the local economy!

My suggestion to you is book it as soon as possible because those seats go FAST. We booked a month in advance and got the last 2 seats. WOOO that was close. So that is why I say book early so you get dates and times that you want. You show up 30 minutes before your tour leaves. They give you the instructions of how the bikes work and they make sure you are comfortable in your seat before taking off. Then they stop a little way down the line make sure everyone is comfortable one more time before taking you on the most unique adventure. What BEAUTIFUL scenery!! This was a surprise trip for my husband and I am the biggest winner we both enjoyed it Immensely!!!! Make sure you pack a picnic and drinks because they stop for a 45 minutes and you get to wonder around and get in the water and play and eat your picnic and have your electrolytes. I highly suggest electrolytes and stay hydrated, It gets hot. Everyone of all skill levels can do this. They have a car that is electric that you can ride along with the bikes if you cannot bike. That is why I say it is for EVERYONE. I HIGHLY suggest this to all my friends and even my enemies because everyone should experience this much joy once in their life. Did I mention the scenery was amazing and beautiful. Well it is and if you just need to book your bike rail trail tour sooner than later and do it fast. We booked this a month before and we got the last 2 tickets so book it asap

The Sinks is a lovely waterfall along the river. There is a small parking lot with about a dozen spaces where we found parking. An observation area is a short walk from parking. A sign describes the area and that the falls were manmade. During the late 1800's the river was used to transport logs/timber to the nearby town of Elkmont. After a storm, flood waters caused a jam in the river. Dynamite was used to restore water flow. The blast resulted in a twist in the river and creation of the waterfall. A set of stone steps leads up a hill, offering lovey views of the falls. There are dozens of waterfalls in the Park. Sinks is one of the few that is drivable, which is great for people that cannot hike. I picked up a Waterfalls map at the visitor center that I found interesting and informative. Parking passes are required to park in the lot. There are no amenities at the falls. Plan 15-30 minutes for a stop and photos.
