I came for mash potatoes and mac & cheese only. I know thats weird. I had some dental work done, and have been ordered to be on a toddler diet of soft things and got tired of eating yogurt and soup. Got a strong craving for mashed potatoes and thought I want Mac and cheese too! I didn't want to go to a restaurant or go to kfc - I just wanted good and accessible sides. It was a vibe. My disappointment was tasting the brisket and burnt ends. It was really dry and tough. I couldn't eat it. Decent barbecue if you are craving it and in the area. Both of the guys working were very friendly, so no issues in the customer service department. There was a review a few days ago talking about how the restrooms were disgusting, I did not find that to be the case during my visit, everything was clean and well maintained in the restaurant and the restrooms. The food itself was alright, we ordered the 3 meat combo with pulled pork, brisket burnt ends, jalapeno sausage with mac n cheese and potato salad. The pulled pork was extremely dry and difficult to enjoy without sauce (which was good). The brisket burnt ends which are a $4 up charge, had a good bark and flavor, but were also pretty dry and benefited from sauce, which you can see both in the attached photos. The jalapeno sausage was my least favorite, something about it felt generic almost like i've had the same exact thing elsewhere. The mac n cheese was pretty good, and the potato salad was also good in a very classic way. Overall, its worth stopping by and giving it a shot, especially if you're on this side of town and want barbecue because there is not many options. I placed an order online to be delivered. I've never had bbq brisket and watching the bbq shows on tv made me want to try it. I found Smokints on Yelp and they were close to my house in hopes that the food would still be delivered warm. I know that nothing beats in restaurant dining for fresh, hot food. Unfortunately, the beans were not in the bag so I'll have to try them another time. The ribs were tender and I chose the Carolina sauce to try also. I picked up an order after toggling through the Postmates maze of distractions. It was about 7pm. I was greeted pretty much immediately when I entered. I ordered a 3 meat combo but they were out of chicken so I requested more ribs. The entrance is pretty wide open and the menu is available for viewing at the door. Since I ordered pickup I just went right to the counter. It looks like a smokehouse/bbq type of place if that makes sense. Like you feel like you're at a backyard bbq and I enjoyed that. I got the sauces on the side and the meal comes with a Texas toast and 2 sides. Fries (which were def the freshest I've had in a long time) and bbq baked beans (one of my fave sides of all times). Brisket was juicy and flavorful and not tooooo fatty. Like you really get a good amount of actual meat. The ribs were so tender and well seasoned. Smoky and delicious. Most all the brisket was tender and delicious, while a little bit was dry and sliced too thick. Most all the chicken was good, but some was a little dry. The brisket burnt ends were great, but again a few were hard and dry. We're guessing most of the dryness was the result of us coming in near the end of the shift. Over $200. Six people. A prepaid order placed two days in advance. And somehow we still showed up to find out they had forgotten our order. We ordered from SMOKIN' T's for a very important annual anniversary meal. This wasn't a walk-in order or a last-minute request. We placed the order two days ahead of time and paid for it in full. When we arrived to pick it up, the manager told us our order had been forgotten. Then we learned they were out of pulled pork, ribs, and coleslaw--the food we had already ordered and paid for. The explanation we were given was particularly frustrating: a large, last-minute catering order had come in earlier that day, and they sold the available food to that customer. So let me make sure I understand the order of operations here: Take our $200+ order two days in advance. Collect our money in full. Have two days to plan for it. Forget the order. Fail to set aside the food we purchased. Accept a large last-minute order. Sell the available food to that customer. Then have the prepaid customer arrive and discover you can't fill their order. That's not simply "we had a busy day." That's an operational failure. And after all of that? No meaningful apology. No discount. Not even a refund for the items that had to be substituted. We ultimately received about four pounds of meat for six people, along with sides so small that everyone received roughly two tablespoons each of mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, potato salad, and baked beans. The baked beans were actually pretty good. Credit where it's due. The rest? Well below average. The food was barely warm. The fries were soggy. The mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, and potato salad were disappointing. After spending more than $200, nobody walked away feeling like we'd just eaten $200 worth of BBQ. And then there was the "Texas Toast." I'm attaching a picture because describing it really doesn't do it justice. Apparently at SMOKIN' T's, Texas Toast means taking ordinary slices of sandwich bread, cutting them diagonally, adding some butter, and introducing them briefly to a toaster. I've seen thicker bread holding together a gas-station BLT. Calling this "Texas Toast" is incredibly generous. Texas is the second-largest state in America. There is absolutely nothing Texas-sized about what showed up in this container. After spending more than $200 on BBQ, opening the box and finding this somehow perfectly summarized the entire meal: underwhelming portions, underwhelming execution, and a whole lot less than what the name led you to expect. The picture speaks for itself. But here's what really puts the value into perspective. Right up the street, Rolling Smoke BBQ offers its Super Sampler for $245: A full rack of St. Louis ribs. A whole chicken. 1 lb. of brisket. 1 lb. of pulled pork. 1 lb. of hot links. 1 lb. of rib tips. 3 quarts of sides. 2 pints of sauce. 24 slider rolls. $245. For roughly another $40, we could have had what looks like enough BBQ to feed a small neighborhood instead of carefully dividing tablespoons of potato salad among six adults. That's not just a food-quality problem. That's a value problem and an operational problem. And from a business standpoint, perhaps the biggest mistake is that this was an annual anniversary meal. Handle an order like this well and you've potentially earned a repeat customer every year--not to mention the normal visits and recommendations that come with giving people a great experience. Instead, a last-minute order was apparently allowed to consume the food needed to fulfill an order that had been placed and paid for two days earlier. Think about that business decision. You already have one customer's money. You already have their order. They've given you two days' notice. Then another order comes along at the last minute, and somehow the customer who planned ahead is the one standing there being told you don't have their food. That's a great way to turn $200+ in today's revenue into $0 in future revenue from that customer. Restaurants make mistakes. Orders get missed. People have bad days. But what separates a good business from a bad experience is what happens after the mistake. Own it. Apologize. Refund what you couldn't provide. Offer a discount. Make the customer feel like you actually care that you failed to deliver something they'd already paid for. We got none of that. So if you're thinking about spending $200+ at SMOKIN' T's for an important meal, I'd recommend doing some comparison shopping first. You could drive up the street and get substantially more BBQ for your money. Or... Save your money and wait until McDonald's brings back the McRib. At least when you order a McRib, there's a pretty good chance they'll actually have it. And based on this meal, it's better than SMOKIN' T's anyway. read more

Hidden gem! Outstanding burnt pork ends. I've been to every bbq place in town and this one is amongst the best. My partner and I came in around 8pm on a Wednesday night. I'd been curious about this place for awhile because I could smell their smoke across the lot when visiting the frozen yogurt shop. It reminded me a lot of the famous Franklin's in Austin, TX. The restaurant was clean. Plenty of seating is available with large tables and there is a bar/counter. The menu is packed with a great selection of meat choices and ample sides. They also have a full bar with a specialty cocktail list, some draft beers, wine, and a drink of the month. They do have a happy hour and Ladies Night on Thursdays featuring half off bottles of wine. We were quickly greeted, order taken and our food was ready in no time. Staff was very friendly. We ordered the 3 meat combo with 2 sides. We chose pork burnt ends, brisket, and ribs with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. This has to be the most tender and juicy meat I've had outside of Franklin's. All three meats were succulent and had the perfect amount of smokiness that was so tasty. The 3 sauces provided (smoky, plain, and sweet) complimented the meats without overshadowing the meat flavor. Describing the burnt ends as divine does not do that dish justice. The green beans were delightfully soft without being mushy and the garlic mashed potatoes were so good and rich they were almost like a dessert. Their meats are so flavorful - you won't even need to put sauce. The sauce is less vinegary which I love too. You can buy meats by the pound, in a sandwich, a combo plate or on a baked potato. If you get a combo plate, you get Texas toast and your choice of 2 sides which is the best option so you can try different meats and sides. We came here on a Thursday night and surprisingly, there was nobody dining here. But they did have a long ticket for a to-go order that nearly sold out their ribs. Plenty of tables for 4 people with power outlets at each one so you can charge your electronics. There's a bar area and a big table close to the door. You will smell like BBQ when you leave this place so either get food to-go or come here whenever then shower again. Decided to try some BBQ but was not overly impressed with the brisket we ordered due to the amount of fat and greasy taste that made our stomaches upset later in the evening. Additionally, the corn bread was very small pieces. The 3 BBQ sauces here were very good along with the fries. Overall, the restaurant is a bit disorganized and when they brought our food out they didn't give us any silverware or plates (they also don't have any out). I am a very picky consumer, so customer service and product are essential to me. So upon entering, I was greeted by Alex. He was so personable and I felt like he was eager to help me and he looked like he wanted to be there. His vibe sold me before I even ordered.
