Service was a bit slow but still okay. In terms of the food itself, most of our group ordered steak or chicken Philly sandwiches. Both varieties were good. Rather than using a traditional hoagie, the rolls were more like baguettes. I really liked that as hoagies often get too soggy from the juices whereas here the rolls stayed nice and crispy on the outside while still being soft on the inside. The highlight of this place though was the sweet potato fries. I like sweet potato fries but at most places they are never as crispy as regular potato fries. Here they were perfectly crispy while still retaining a nice softness and bit of sweetness from the sweet potato inside.

The service was good at first but I haven't seen my server for a while so another waitress got my tea refill. The brewed was great. The decor and dining room atmosphere is very cozy and rustic. It's located on a perfect place on the corner of the square in downtown Sullivan. My first waitress left the building without telling me and another one finished the sale and got me a to go drink.

The building itself is over a 100 years old and is on the National Register of Historic Places, this helps its cool vibe. We came in at 12:30 on a December Thursday, it was absolutely packed, what appeared to be multiple team/holiday gatherings. We were told a 20 minute wait, but we eventually were able to find a seat at the bar in less time. With as busy as it was, I was concerned food coming out may be impacted, but it came out quick. Allie was our bar tender, she was very friendly and attentive, shout out to her. First I started with a local beer, wango tango. I would call it a hazy pale ale. It was perfect for me. Had grilled shishito peppers. It was my first time to ever eat one, I loved them. I enjoyed them better without the sauce, but the wasabi Mayo did provide a nice kick. I ate the fried wontons with the sauce. We shared the crab Rangoon flatbread. It did not disappoint, and had a healthy serving size. I would get it again and again! Then I went with a comfort food, fried bologna sandwich. It came with a side, but the sandwhich alone was enough. I added a close pic of the sandwich, it had two thick cut pieces of meat. Impressive. It came with melted cheese, that was a twist for me, but I wanted to try it the way it was on the menu first. I eventually added ketchup, lol. We now have a new place to stop as we're passing by on 70. If I lived closer, i definitely would be a regular!!!

The interior features table seating, some coolers with ice cold Coca-Cola (and Pepsi, RC Cola for those wanting more options) and other soft drinks, a kitchen area and of course, walls littered with amazing vintage farming advertisements, thermometers, antique tractors, etc. This place takes me back to my childhood, growing up in a small town with nothing more than a grocery store and some grain elevators. A Midwest mom and pop joint, one of the finest I've set foot in. The folks working in the store were friendly and welcoming. After getting our drinks, we ordered entrees consisting of a double cheeseburger and Cajun cheese fries, as well as a chicken sandwich (add cheese) and mozzarella sticks with, you guessed it, another side of cheese. Both sandwiches were fantastic and fresh, hot off the grill. The burger I had was perfectly done, with a slim char on the outside. The chicken was very clean and juicy. Both were mouth watering. The Cajun fries were cooked just as I like them: crispy but not burnt. The cheese had some spice to it but not an overwhelming amount to the point it was "hot". I did taste a mozzarella stick and the absence of grease and the abundance of crispy, well seasoned breading was fantastic. Top notch all the way around. The wait for the food was surprisingly very short considering everything is made fresh. We felt as if it was just another day eating in the kitchen at grandmas, which I miss a lot these days. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to slow down and take a step back in time and enjoy a meal. In my opinion places like this get overlooked and shouldn't. I can't wait to come back and try the Angus burger!
