Not a lot of seating, so you may need to wait a few minutes... but the food is quick to come from the kitchen and people are friendly to share a table if possible. I've only been for breakfast a few times - had the Hungry Man today. Crispy bacon, sausage links (not bad, not the best ever), shredded potatoes, two eggs and half order biscuits and gravy. Really good if you're getting breakfast to last to dinner... the B&G are some of the best you'll find in the area. Go early, because they have been known to run out. There are ~15 tables - mostly booths, and no two-tops... pictures of patrons and old kitchen decor on the walls. Cash and local check only - plan ahead (there is a bank/ATM across the street if needed). Super friendly staff... just a nice place for good, homemade meal.

The Green Hill Diner is an unexpected local hole-in-the-wall gem on the east side of Morgantown. We…read morefound the diner based on the great Yelp reviews. The diner is not fancy or upscale, in fact, the side walks could use some love. But the food is fabulous and service is downright friendly. The dining room is filled with about a dozen mismatched tables. The regulars were bantering and watching "The Price is Right" on the tv monitor. The place has a lot of small town character. Our server brought water quickly, took our orders and checked on us several times. The menu is divided into breakfast and lunch and dinner entrees. Breakfast is served until 11:00 a.m. Menu options include an interesting twist on traditional breakfast and lunch items. Eggs are farm fresh, oats are organic and tomatoes are heirloom. Daily specials are listed on a chalk board. Prices are reasonable. I had the Griddled Sourdough BLT which was packed with bacon, lettuce and heirloom tomato. My sandwich was beautiful and tasted great. The hand cut fries tasted delicious. My husband had Bob's Breakfast, a dinner favorite named for one of the dinner's first customers. The plate is a delicious concoction of hashbrowns, topped with two eggs, smothered in sausage gravy. My husband said "it works!" and devoured the entire plate. In a case by the cash register were the most gorgeous cookies that were huge. The cookies are made fresh daily. We took home a Blueberry Cream Cheese Cookie that was probably the best cookie that I've ever tasted. I'm not exaggerating. The cookie was chewy with caramelized edges and lots of flavor from the fresh blueberries. I'll be making regular trips to Morgantown for those dang cookies. The restrooms are a bit tight. I'm guessing a wheelchair could not get through the door. There are a couple picnic tables outside if you want to bring your dog and eat. There is plenty of parking in their private lot. I'll be returning to try the dinner menu. I have to try the Shrimp and Grits.

It fills not just my stomach but my soul. Good old home cooking -- fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans with bacon fat, homemade bread, pan desserts. All I can eat. The place is clean. The staff is friendly & keeps the glasses filled. I don't feel rushed like I'm a mere commodity like so many Indy restaurants. My only request is that they rent cots in the parking lot for food-coma recovery. But it's worth it to me.

We all ordered breakfast for lunchtime because we did not care for the offerings they had for lunch. I ordered Biscuits and Gravy while my granddaughter ordered Chicken and Waffles with Blueberries. We both ate our food until we were full.

It turned out, they had to make my iced tea special, because they weren't allowed to use the tap water because of some boil order that was established in the area. OK! They were able to pivot and make me my unsweetened ice tea with bottled water, instead. My iced tea was great and just what I wanted. What customer service! I wish I wanted some baked goods while I was here, because this place has all of the homemade-looking baked goods. Peanut butter cookies in a Tupperware container, bread pudding covered in plastic wrap, apple pie in a metal pie dish. All of the baked goods look like they were made by someone's grandma. And they looked like they were labeled by someone's grandpa, carefully, in grandpa handwriting. Nashville General Store has a breakfast and lunch menu along with baked goods, with a big indoor dining room that you can sit in and enjoy your meal. Breakfast foods include pancakes, quiche and breakfast sandwiches; lunch options include things like sandwiches, soups, salads and sides. This place is also a store. You will find things like jams and canned goods, home decor, and lots more stuff with a country aesthetic. It's a cute place to visit to grab something to eat or drink, and look around.

The basic pancake (to which you can add various fill-ins like fruits, nuts, chocolate chips) is huge and very fluffy. They also sometimes have specialty pancakes in different, which come as 2 regular-sized pancakes instead of a single massive one. The specialty pancakes I tried were also very good but, for me, don't quite beat out the perfect texture and novelty of the giant pancake. The tea on the menu is from Twinings, and I drink a lot of nice tea, so honestly Twinings doesn't really cut it for me anymore for black tea. Maybe I'd get it again if I really wanted tea with my food but if I have time next time, I might just grab tea somewhere else. If you like herbal teas though, they do have a variety of herbal teas, and I don't mind the cheaper brands of herbal so much, so that's nice to have. The waitstaff is always friendly (I've had both college-age and older waiters) and the kitchen was pretty fast, but I've only been on weekdays where it's not too busy, so can't say how it is when they get busy on weekends. The only complaints I have are that one time there was a little bit of an unpleasant smell in the building (this was my second visit, it was not a problem again when I visited a few weeks ago), and they keep it really cold during the summer (if it's 90+ F out, anything less than 70 inside doesn't feel good for more than a few minutes).
