Their outside "showroom" is extensive and impressive. One day, because I'm lazy, I bought a Toro zero point mower from Home Depot's website and, as fate would have it, Lano did the bulk of the dirty work for HD. They delivered it to my home, gave my wife the rundown of how to use the thing (we've only ever used push mowers before), and generally made me really wish I'd just stopped in and bought directly from them. My wife was incredibly happy with the way they treated her and, in true small town fashion, they sent a follow up 'thank you' card to us. Well, fast forward exactly THREE mowings, and my sweet, new Toro now stalls out before it gets going. It turns out this is a known defect involving the parking brake that many people have experienced. Lano sent a guy out to check it out, but even he couldn't get the parking brake to disengage. The frustration. For him, less for me. Still, once again, and this time with my mother in law... nothing but kindness and helpfulness. They came back out with a truck, got it loaded, and did the work for us in 2 days' time. That was a long story, but one you hopefully read. These guys do things the right way and we have been nothing but impressed. Their service department was incredibly friendly every time we talked to them, they worked quickly (and under warranty) and really helped us out. Couldn't be more impressed; they deserve this 5 star review.

And they're packed with an incredible variety of quality merchandise. They have something for everyone. The prices are also very reasonable. I'd go so far as saying that Annie's Attic is one of the best antique malls within an hour drive outside the Twin Cities metro area. BTW, we stopped at the other places in Buffalo and they all paled in comparison to Annie's. (Unfortunately, we didn't make it in time to Walden Woods which looks like it might be pretty great.) As we were downstairs looking around, one of the ladies (short hair and striped top) came down and ducked around the corner watching us. I knew what she was doing but chose to ignore her hoping my kids wouldn't know what she was doing. We did find 3 lead soldiers and asked for help, the ladies at the counter told is they would be right with us. We stood there for about 5 or more minutes until someone finally came to help us...apparently they all needed to help one customer. We bought our items and left. My two kids pointed out in the car to me that they knew the lady in the striped top was watching us. There were plenty of other customers also shopping but she decided to follow and watch us. No thanks. This is the last time we'll ever come here. There are plenty of other antique shops around that don't do this to us. We love antique shopping. It's sad too, as we live in Elk River.

The three levels are laid out well and you are not cramped walking through there. Never an old musty smell or tons of junk. I have bought many things here over the years from old fireplace mantles, to upcycled gifts, a midcentury drink cart, Vintage Pyrex, and even Cutco knives. I love this place and every time I am up in Elk River i make sure to stop in!

The the store front looks small from Highway 12, don't be deceived, they've got plenty of room inside, and on many occasion have had everything I have needed. As it's right off of Highway 12, there's not a ton of parking right in front of the store, but there's plenty of parking to the east of the store. Joe's is a small town, family run place. There's no pay at the pump, but having to talk with the friendly staff isn't a problem, after all we need a bit more social interaction! The Sport Shop side of Joe's is evident in the front of the store with the fishing equipment and bait, but don't be fooled as there's plenty they have to offer for basic houseware and maintenance needs. My suggestion would be that if you need something, check with Joe's before heading out of town!
