They were a little sweet and paired nicely with the sharp tang of the feta. We also split the Dune sandwich. Big fans! The turkey was warm, the focaccia was light and fluffy. Served with a pile of kettle chips. The music was a man and his guitar. A one man show of sorts, he was great. We had a great experience and we will go again, for sure. Seemed to be light on the meat (i.e. not much turkey or chicken respectively) and too heavy on the sauce (mayo, mustard, etc.) so much that the sandwiches were dripping sauce. Looks like they have a nice backyard bar with music, but if you're looking for sandwiches - I'd pass.

First time eating there, will not be the last. There were 5 of us and we all thought the food and service was excellent. I enjoyed the brisket, delicious and tender. Their fries are as good as I have ever eaten, if not the best! We shared some burnt ends and chips and salsa as appetizers, very tasty. The beer was cold and server very good. Almost everything arrived at the table in under five minutes--except the mac and cheese. All of the food was lukewarm, aside from the mac and cheese skillet. The speed and temperature made it feel like they had simply assembled leftovers that had been sitting out. The sandwiches tasted fine but nothing special. The kids' pulled pork meal consisted of two broken pieces of bread with only a few tiny bits of meat and a huge container of essentially room-temperature tater tots. The nachos themselves tasted great, but they were also lukewarm and overpriced for the portion--especially since the "brisket" we paid extra for seemed more like taco meat. Our waitress was excellent, but the portion sizes and prices just didn't feel worth it. The food would have been much better if it had been served hot instead of warm or nearly room temperature. I wouldn't recommend this place for a family with young kids. Overall, very disappointing.

My wife and I were excited to try Allendale Grill and drove 30 minutes for what we hoped would be a…read morenice night out. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish and ended in a way I've never encountered at any restaurant. We were seated quickly, but service immediately became an issue. After waiting quite a while to place our order, we ordered an appetizer. Roughly 20 minutes later, our server returned to tell us it was unavailable and asked us to choose something else. At that time, my wife also requested a water refill and was told it would be brought right out. It never arrived. Things continued to go downhill from there. One entrée arrived before the replacement appetizer, while my entrée was nowhere to be found. The queso appetizer was extremely disappointing--thin, bland, and barely resembled queso at all. Meanwhile, we repeatedly asked for updates on my meal but received little information. Eventually, a manager came to the table after our server suggested speaking with one. Ironically, my ribeye arrived at about the same time. It was extremely thin, overcooked well beyond the requested temperature, and served with a cold side. I asked the manager to check back in a few minutes after I had a chance to cut into the steak. He agreed but never returned. After finishing what I could of the meal, our server reappeared after another lengthy absence. I calmly explained that both the food and service had fallen below expectations. I also acknowledged that the restaurant was new and likely experiencing growing pains. Rather than discussing solutions, the conversation shifted to how overwhelmed the server was. I expressed sympathy and suggested management may not have been providing enough support. I paid the bill, left a tip, and prepared to leave. That's when the situation became completely unacceptable. The manager--who later identified himself as the owner--stormed to our table, grabbed the payment device, and loudly ordered me to leave. He stated that "no one will make my server cry" and continued raising his voice in front of other guests, children, and my wife. When I attempted to explain that our concerns were related to the service and food, he responded by saying, "We can take this outside." I was stunned. A restaurant manager or owner was essentially challenging a paying customer to a fight because I had expressed concerns about the experience. He continued the confrontation while blocking my exit from the booth before eventually moving and escorting us out while causing a scene in front of the entire restaurant. I've dined in hundreds of restaurants and worked in the industry myself. I understand that mistakes happen, especially at new establishments. Delays, kitchen issues, and staffing challenges can all be overcome with communication and professionalism. What cannot be excused is threatening, intimidating, and publicly confronting customers for providing honest feedback. The disappointing food and service were frustrating. The behavior of management is the reason I will never return. I encourage you to consider this honest feedback from someone who went to your business with nothing but the hope to find another dining option to add to our list of regular visits.

This is probably going to end up being your go-to if you're in Muskegon as it's one of the only places that actually has options on the menu. + chips and guac ($7): such a HUGE portion of house made guacamole and fresh fried chips. Expect some spice with that guac too: very oniony and lots of chunks of jalapeno. Seriously, this would cost at least $11 to $14 where I'm from. + "Secret Love" vegan tacos ($5): deep fried cauliflower covered in buffalo sauce, a celery cucumber sauce, and scallions. This flavor profile is hard not to love, and these were fantastic. Good textures, very hearty. +/- "The Bruss Lee" vegan tacos ($4): deep fried brussel sprouts in an Asian marinade, kimchi, scallions, and peanuts. These were okay. And had a totally different experience. The first night I came (a Saturday; they were SO BUSY), the bartender was engaging, interactive. Other staff cleaning up and around customers seemed friendly and cool too. The second night (a Sunday; there wasn't more than twelve or so customers there)? They were so rude. One staff member was yelling at people to get into a single orderly line (we were) and the bartender said they were cash only (they weren't the previous night, and...) "The people in front of me just used their card," I pointed out when it was my turn. "Yeah, but now the internets down. The whole street is dealing with it. Not our problem." 1) This was not true, as I went to other businesses on the street and paid with card no problem, 2) Just an observation: it seemed like they were only telling this to people with food menus in their hand (I saw the cook repeatedly shaking his head and using his arms to make an "x" at the bartenders). I saw a few other reviews mention similarly polarizing experiences, so it's definitely something to note.
