I'm not against going to a chain restaurant as Cranberry has no shortage of them. But the fact of the matter is, if you're going to streamline your kitchen, your food better be cheap and serviceable. Smokey Bones gets away being overpriced as it's a BBQ joint, but after giving them 2 tries... Never again. Their ribs are serviceable, at best. And probably the safest option from what I've tried here. Their chicken wings come flourished with an array of feathers and the most disgusting coagulated "garlic Parm" sauce. Frankly, they were insulting and gag inducing. Their 'bag of donuts' dessert seemed fun until they arrived as grease soaked and covered in 2 cups of densely packed sugar. I know, I know... 4 stars for an older chain restaurant.. but hear me out. The pleasantness and energy of the staff goes a LONG WAY in making a meal amazing. Plus, their food is actually decent. We usually dine later in the evening, around 9pm. I've learned to tell the server to make sure everything is smoking hot since many places start to close the kitchen around the time we arrive. The ribs for $15 (full rack) were amazing.. meaty, hot, and tender. The stew was interesting but still good. What makes this place shine is the employees' attitudes. I recently had a very disappointing experience at the Smokey Bones in CRANBERRY My order was messed up, and instead of helping resolve the issue, the general manager, Kayla, was extremely rude and argumentative. Her attitude made the situation much worse, and even one of her own employees mentioned that this is not unusual behavior. She repeatedly brought up her 20 years of experience, but unfortunately, that experience didn't translate into good customer service. Great service is what keeps customers coming back, and this location fell short. The Robinson location, on the other hand, has always been excellent and proves how much of a difference good customer service makes. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because customers deserve to be treated with respect. read more

This was an all time awful experience. Went here for my niece's birthday, service was the absolute worst. Food came out at snail pace, 45 minutes for a side salad. When the meals came out, they were lukewarm at best and the icing on the cake was being served two pieces of meat that could've been cube steak and was told these were filet medallions. When I questioned it, they insisted it was filet, but then came back and said, no you are right it doesn't look like filet. Not to mention that I ordered it with mushrooms and onions and they weren't even on the steak, when I questioned that the entire plate was wrong, they brought me out two little cups of mushrooms and onions. At that point, I had enough of this lackluster experience and told them to just take it off the bill. It appeared there was only one waitress for all the tables yet there were other staff milling around, joking with each other. We weren't even offered an apology for the absolute garbage experience. It was rumored this location was closing, honestly this one was a bit better than Robinson, but they all need to just throw in the towel. We won't be back again, ever. read more

Our last dinner was a few days ago. We had a hankering for their pulled pork. We both got the platter that comes with two sides. I had the baked beans and fries. My spouse got a baked potato and broccoli. I like their bbq sauces. Everything was really good. I also ordered their Strawberry Dream adult beverage. It was huge and hit the spot. We wanted to try something new so we stopped in here on a Saturday for a late lunch. There weren't many people inside as it was only about 3:20. I ended up ordering the smokey chicken sandwich with their street corn side. The food took forever to come out, but it was hot and fresh when received. The sandwich was okay. The chicken wasn't dry and had nice flavor, but the BBQ sauce that came on it was far too sweet. If I ever got this again I would ask for no sauce and add my own from the selection on the table. My daughter got the mac and cheese and enjoyed it and my partner got the pulled pork sandwich and a baked potato. He said the sandwich was okay, but the potato was a little undercooked. Service was pretty good - and they were short staffed and only had two servers doing everything. So I have to give a good rating for that. All-in-all the food was just average. I probably wouldn't choose to go back as the prices are higher than other BBQ in the area and the quality doesn't really make up for it. read more

The chili was loaded with raw onion which overpowered any brisket taste. The chicken and pork were incredibly dry and the bbq did nothing to redeem it. Fire roasted corn was awful. I was in the mood for some good barbecue and saw that they had burnt ends on their menu. I am always looking for them, so I had to give them a shot. Their menu is quite large. I went with the burnt ends as an appetizer. Most of them were, sadly, a little dry. The one which were not were very good. I also got the jumbo smoked wings. Sadly, they wouldn't let me try any of their other wing sauces with these wings. They are limited to one choice. If you want the other wing flavors, you have to order their other wings. I did like they brought out a 'bone bag' that you could put your bones and trash inside of instead of trying to make place for them on your plate. I don't think I would have the smoked wings here next time, but I'd give them a shot again with something else on their menu. read more

The employees working really huddled and worked together. The food was fabulous! The cole slaw is creamy and one of the best I've had. Baked beans also yummy. If it wasn't so rude I'd have liked the baked beans sauce to get every drop! French fries were good also. Decided to try something different and walked into Smokey Bones at opening on a weekday. It took a while for somebody to come as I sat at the bar, but once the server came, she took pretty good care of me. The menu is gigantic and I appreciated that she pointed me to a couple of things, and even told me what different items I should pick based on how much I wanted to eat. I went with their lunch special of $12, adding beef brisket for a $5 upcharge, since I wanted to try some special BBQ item. I also wanted to try some smoked wings, so I got 4 of those as an addon for another $5. I'm not a BBQ person, so I feel it's my non-expert opinion that the brisket could have been more moist. Was not a fan, and don't see why it should be at that upcharge. The wings, however. I got them with just the memphis rub, and they were amazing. I had no need of BBQ sauces (they have lots!) or the bleu cheese. There was a certain sweet-and-spicey thing going on with that rub, which I really liked. I'd come and eat a lot more if wings didn't pile on the calories, ha Service was great. However, the restaurant has a leaky roof, and the staff/restaurant know about it. It drips in random places during the rain. Wasn't a huge issue though. One day will go back and have more smoked wings. read more

Great place for BBQ! The menu is filled with many options of meat; from ribs to brisket to pulled pork. We ordered wings as an appetizer and they were pretty good. They had a smokey favor and the skin was crispy. The meat was also juicy and warm right off the grill. I would have liked more bbq sauce on the wings themselves, but they brought us extra on the side to add. As an entree I got the pulled pork sandwich. The meat doesn't have any bbq sauce on it, which I thought was odd, but thankfully we had leftover bbq from the wings that I poured on it. My entree also came with a side, I ordered fries and they were delicious. They were seasoned nicely and crisp. We also ordered corn bread, which was some of the best I've had. It was sweet, warm, and the honey butter is incredible! Prices are also reasonable for the amount of food you get with entrees. read more
