Bag of donuts... With 3 tony donuts soaked in grease and a gross amount of wet sugar.

I'm not against going to a chain restaurant as Cranberry has no shortage of them. But the fact of the matter is, if you're going to streamline your kitchen, your food better be cheap and serviceable. Smokey Bones gets away being overpriced as it's a BBQ joint, but after giving them 2 tries... Never again. Their ribs are serviceable, at best. And probably the safest option from what I've tried here. Their chicken wings come flourished with an array of feathers and the most disgusting coagulated "garlic Parm" sauce. Frankly, they were insulting and gag inducing. Their 'bag of donuts' dessert seemed fun until they arrived as grease soaked and covered in 2 cups of densely packed sugar. Skip this spot and head to the better barbeque joints down the road.

Ribs were ok. Not much meat on them. I know their baby back, but come on. Service was very good. Not a lot of people there on a Sunday evening.

I know, I know... 4 stars for an older chain restaurant.. but hear me out. The pleasantness and energy of the staff goes a LONG WAY in making a meal amazing. Plus, their food is actually decent. We usually dine later in the evening, around 9pm. I've learned to tell the server to make sure everything is smoking hot since many places start to close the kitchen around the time we arrive. The ribs for $15 (full rack) were amazing.. meaty, hot, and tender. The stew was interesting but still good. What makes this place shine is the employees' attitudes. Everyone is very nice, even when there is an issue. Staff goes out of their way to be respectful and pleasant. To me, that means A LOT!!

Mahi fish it's suppose to be blackened bun soggy and old vegetables

I recently had a very disappointing experience at the Smokey Bones in CRANBERRY My order was messed up, and instead of helping resolve the issue, the general manager, Kayla, was extremely rude and argumentative. Her attitude made the situation much worse, and even one of her own employees mentioned that this is not unusual behavior. She repeatedly brought up her 20 years of experience, but unfortunately, that experience didn't translate into good customer service. Great service is what keeps customers coming back, and this location fell short. The Robinson location, on the other hand, has always been excellent and proves how much of a difference good customer service makes. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because customers deserve to be treated with respect.

Pulled pork sandwich and slightly undercooked baked potato

We wanted to try something new so we stopped in here on a Saturday for a late lunch. There weren't many people inside as it was only about 3:20. I ended up ordering the smokey chicken sandwich with their street corn side. The food took forever to come out, but it was hot and fresh when received. The sandwich was okay. The chicken wasn't dry and had nice flavor, but the BBQ sauce that came on it was far too sweet. If I ever got this again I would ask for no sauce and add my own from the selection on the table. My daughter got the mac and cheese and enjoyed it and my partner got the pulled pork sandwich and a baked potato. He said the sandwich was okay, but the potato was a little undercooked. Service was pretty good - and they were short staffed and only had two servers doing everything. So I have to give a good rating for that. All-in-all the food was just average. I probably wouldn't choose to go back as the prices are higher than other BBQ in the area and the quality doesn't really make up for it.

The atmosphere was pretty nice. I didn't like the boneless wings, they were something you could buy at the store. The ribs were tender. Pretty average though.

We started off with the cornbread. If my husband sees it on the menu, he must have it. It was good especially the top part was very sweet, which I loved. I didn't think the rest was as flavorful as I would have liked. Y husband loved it. I had the two Honey Chipotle Shrimp Tacos and they were absolutely amazing. I loved them so much. I also liked the Mexican street corn side too. My husband thought the ribs and mashed potatoes were amazing. When my mom and I see brisket on the menu, we typically have to have it. She did along with her other favorite mashed potatoes and loved both. I don't think you can have a bad meal there. Anxious to go back and try other things.

On the savory side, I ordered the cheeseburger sliders with baked beans. The sliders were perfect for snacking--juicy, classic burger flavor--and I loved that they brought out a plate with lettuce and tomato on the side so you can build it your way. Thoughtful touch. Years ago, when it was Freedom Square Diner, it was always a cute spot, but didn't feel special. We were all in the mood for something different today. My son ordered the full breakfast spread with eggs, sausage, pancakes, and all the extras and immediately declared it a "10 out of 10 breakfast." I have a feeling his enthusiasm alone is going to have us coming back week after week.My husband had Johnny's chicken sandwich and said it was one of the best sandwiches he's ever had. I ordered a chicken salad, which sounds pretty boring, but it was good. They make the chicken fresh and it was topped with crispy shoestring fries that were absolutely perfect. Our server, Amy, was wonderful. Even though she was busy, she took time to talk with us about the menu and share some of her favorites. When we mentioned it was our first visit, she smiled and said the owner was working and would probably come say hello. Sure enough, he did. You could immediately tell this is someone who truly cares about his business. He had that sparkle in his eye while talking about the food, the ingredients, and the restaurant itself. You don't fake that kind of passion. It was obvious he is fully invested in every detail of the place. I know the restaurant business is hard, especially with so many chain options everywhere. Experiences like this remind me why supporting local businesses matters. Hearing that Bennies also supports other local businesses through the ingredients they source (including carrying my favorite local coffee beans!) just reinforced that even more. So glad we gave Bennies9 a try today. We'll absolutely be back again and again.
