If there was a rating higher than 5 Stars, I would definitely give it to them. There website drew me in and after speaking to their very knowledgeable and courteous customer representative, Nan, about their services I made an appointment for a dryer vent cleaning. Their technician, Drew Rowe, was excellent in every aspect and a local fireman as well. I received a reminder phone call the day before from Nan and Drew called me that morning with his eta. He also sent me an email with his picture. Drew was so courteous and professional. He took photos of my dryer vent before and after the service and also showed me the air flow before and after. I like to know how things work versus how they should work and the way he explained things along the way was very helpful to me. He showed me a picture of the vent cover I had on my roof, which was a bathroom vent and not one for dryers. Before he finished he showed me the proper vent cover as he had one in his van. Since I live in a townhome community, I contacted my HOA to see if they can have the correct dryer vent installed. In addition to cleaning out my dryer vent, he did an overall home fire safety inspection which was very informative from my smoke alarms (monitored or not), fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detectors and gas fire-place cleanings. His van is equipped with these products but he did not try to push them off on me. In fact, I was the one that asked if he had fire extinguishers as I wanted to buy two once he explained the difference to me. I plan to use them in the future to clean out my chimney. My wife and I have used Smoke Alert numerous times since moving into our current home three years ago. Specifically, Justin Carter has been out to install and maintain two gas log sets in our fireplaces as well as conduct a whole house fire safety inspection and dryer vent inspection and cleaning. Everything about my Smoke Alert appointment was great from start to finish. When I made my appointment, the earliest service date was over a month out, but I was put on a cancellation list and was able to get service 4 weeks earlier than expected. Justin arrived during the quoted service window. Before coming inside my house, he explained all the safety protocols that Smoke Alert follows to ensure his safety as well as my family's safety (mask, gloves, booties, alcohol wipes on all touched surfaces,etc.). When the service was completed, Justin provided a comprehensive review of the dryer vent cleaning including multiple before and after pictures. He did make 2 recommendations to improve the safety and functioning of my dryer, but was honest and did not make me feel like I HAD to make these improvements immediately or we would be in danger. He also went through a fire safety check to make sure we were covered in case of any emergencies (fire alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, escape ladders, etc.). This is my 2nd year getting service from Smoke Alert and I would recommend them to anyone! read more

Ever since moving into our home, our basement would smell like smoke whenever we would burn a fire in our upstairs fireplace. After recovering from the shock of the amount of lead time it was going to take to get one of the better known chimney sweep companies out and what they were going to charge me for just the inspection, I called Smoke Alert. Justin came out performed two sweeps (less than the cost of a single sweep from the more well-known companies) and an inspection. He pretty much diagnosed the problem within minutes of walking in the front door. Justin was back to make the necessary repairs (fairly extensive) yesterday, which he did for less than what he quoted at the time of the inspection. This company is top notch. I have been putting it off for a couple of years and I'm so glad I had them come back out. Justin was prompt, very efficient and explained everything that he did as well as the issues with my fireplace. Amanda in the office was very quick and professional in setting up an appointment. I certainly take comfort and having firefighters do the inspection since this is their wheel house. I have some work to do in order to use my fireplace safely but so glad that I made an appointment and had it inspected and cleaned. You will not find this kind of service from other companies. Justin came out to inspect our fireplace and our dryer vent- we bought a house from an hgtv show in 2018- low and behold, Justin pretty much saved our house from a future fire! I was a big skeptic about having this service done but boy am I glad I did. 3 years only in our home and our dryer pipe vent was very clogged and I am faithful with cleaning my lint screen. The builder has so many bends in our pipe that it doesn't go directly out. Justin was the best and very professional. I had my home totally refitted with new smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. was so tired of beeping batteries in the middle of the night.
