I brought in my 1997 Toyota 4Runner with 300k plus miles and Alfred was very thorough and very honest with the price. I went to a different place earlier and wanted to charge me $130 for a smog check. So I took it Alfred since he's done smog check from my co workers. He's a great guy and only charged me $80. Super cool guy and very knowledgeable. Fast and efficient. I highly recommend getting your smog check from him.

I called around to a bunch of smog shops and most didn't even want to touch my old 1990s truck, but this place didn't hesitate for a second. The owner runs the shop himself, and you can tell he takes real pride in his work. Straight-up blue-collar, honest, and professional. He got the job done quickly and flawlessly. Fair price, no nonsense, just great service from a guy who knows his stuff. If you're looking for someone reliable who still believes in good old-fashioned work ethic, this is the spot. Highly recommend!

So here I am sitting in the Costco line for gas and I really needed a smog check today to sell a car. While I sit in line I start calling around and this is the first place to answer and the guy couldn't be nicer. I continue to get some price comparisons around the area and I found one cheaper by $2. When I got here I asked if he'd price match and he said "sure, why not?" Vic's a great guy, super fast service and speaks English, lol. Sadly I found out the hard way that if your check engine light is on it is a automatic fail. No matter what it's from. So everyone please be aware first. Testing centers know this but I was told they can't tell you that. I don't know if that is true or not. To me it doesn't make sense but by testing they know you won't go somewhere else later. I paid full price including the certificate amount that I did not get and I don't think should have been charged at that time as I didn't get it. However If brought back within the time limit they retest. After costly repairs I went back and got it. If I had know I would have gone to the mechanic first. Always in life consumers have to stay aware. read more

Ah, the dreaded state-funded extortion racket known as smog testing. Another government sponsored fleecing of the citizens of California. Let's be honest...it stinks. But unless you are going to start a revolution then you are going to have to comply and have it done. Fellow Yelp readers, if you are in the Burbank/Glendale/Toluca Lake area, Vic is the man to see. I've had Vic doing smog checks on my vehicles since 2005 and in all that time he's always been cheerful, professional, efficient, and helpful. I've never visited him, rain or shine, when he isn't smiling. He actually makes this process enjoyable and he seems to love his work. With state controlled pricing you would think that there was no way for a Smog Check place to distinguish itself. Well, you thought wrong. Vic's my guy and he should be your guy too. read more

Coupon price for SmogStopsHere has gone UP to $50 plus certificate so total 58 bucks. I think that's a cash-price-only. Still a good place to get a quick smog check and a convenient location for me, but they really shouldn't be advertising "lowest price in the valley" because it's not. Joe's is 50 bucks out the door and so is In & Out Smog if you mention their website coupon. read more

If you want fast and professional smog this is the place. My smog was due today (Monday)and I had forgotten, luckily I found this place in Burbank on a busy Saturday that accepted me without an appointment. II drove in without appointment, Alfred I believe the owner was very nice and professional. He didn't waste any time, got right on it! FYI, this please is extremely clean for a smog shop and with reasonable price. read more

As others have mentioned, this smog shop is under new ownership. The owner before was amazing, and luckily nothing has changed with this new owner. I have been to other smog shops (In & Out Smog) where they hassled me over not having an O2 sensor. The thing is, my car never came with an O2 sensor. Even after calling Volkswagen and verifying over the phone with the guy, he acted like he was doing me a favor by testing my car! Anyway, I no longer have to deal with that now that I have Smog Stops Here. The prices here are reasonable and the owner even let me know ahead of time what to prepare for so I don't waste my time or money smogging something that won't pass. read more

My mechanic recommended this place. It's actually hard to find, easy to drive right by the first time. Vic gets you out of there quickly. Quick, professional, courteous, but a little pricier than other places that offer discounts with a coupon. read more

I work long hours so I was finally able to get out early enough to finally try and get a smog check today. I found Alfreds shop on Yelp and not only was he open later then everyone else, he waited for me to show up. He was very friendly and inviting, he checked me in quickly and was very informative about 2 recalls that I was unaware my vehicle needed. Shop was super clean and I look forward to making this shop my stop for all my future smog needs. read more

Just returned home from having smog check done, this was the best, easiest and fastest I got it done, ever! Alfred is one of the nicest guys I met in a long time, I've used this location for about 20 years, original owner was Vic, and I liked him alot also but Alfred is the best, he also remodeled the shop and it is now safer and easier to get the smog check done there.
