I think the bad review under me is just a crazy entitled costumer. This was my first time here and I LOVED IT . THE PRICE WAS GREAT. PROCESS WAS FAST AND PROFESSIONAL. The nice man treats you like family and gets the job done for a great price what else could you ask for? He even gave good advice to keep my car lasting longer. SO GREATFUL I CAME HERE read more

After putting getting a smog check off for months, I decided to bite the bullet and take care of it. I stopped by on a Sunday (which is amazing). Alfred greeted me and explained exactly how long and how much everything would cost. Upon test completion Alfred took the time to answer questions I had and even gave me some very useful car advice... A pleasant experience overall. I would highly recommend this location and will return (even though other locations are closer to me) read more

Had to get smog check for my Prius since she's 8 years old.. pulled in and got it checked super fast. This place is at great as it's always been! read more

Dude was awesome. Gave me a pleasant greeting and told me where to wait, with an accurate time of wait (less than ten minutes.) He gave me a very fair price and told me tips on how to always prepare for a smog check. First time ever getting a check, and new to California. Dude was super helpful and told me step by step what he was doing, and why he was doing it. If you're ever going to get a smog check for the first time this is the dude to go to. Love to see people like him, they seem to be rare these days. Also had a cool table in the sun so you can wait. read more

My go to when I need a smog test. They provide timely service and always help point me in the right direction if the smog fails. Thanks Alfred. read more

Quick drive thru for a smog check. Quick and easy! You don't even need to get out of your car. $58 for a smog check !

Great service, Alfred takes the time to talk to you and give you good advice. He works hard to help you. Going there from now on.

I was recommended to come here. Worst experience and decision. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! They will take your money. Came in and the guy gave me the run around. Most likely because I'm a female. Didn't look under my car and said need to remove my catalytic converter cover. Interesting since I was sitting in my car so how did he see underneath my car. Charged me $51.00 and said didn't pass you need to remove that part. Super rude and unprofessional. I've been to places and paid for a real service. Not like some lazy and greedy company trying to take advantage by not their job. I ended up going to IN and OUT smog check ( HIGHLY RECOMMEND) they lifted my car and said there was no reason the other smog shop didn't pass you. Did they lift your car and I said no ...they said yeah you can clearly see that your car would pass the smog check. Don't go here especially if you're a woman!!! read more

Awesome place, nice guy! Went to AAA for registration and tags renewal and was told I needed a "smog check". This is the closest approved STAR certified shop. It's next to Caliber collision and has a solid parking with distanced chairs. Definitely coming back. read more

Today I had an experience unlike any other in my life. My head is still spinning - what on earth just happened. I took my car for a smog check at Smog Stops Here. I was met by Fred without a greeting. He showed me a price on his phone and when I repeated the price I saw, just so I got it right, he called me suspicious and said "I don't want your business". With no malice I asked him "why are you so angry?" That was a mistake, I realized right away and I regret asking it. He just got more hostile, angry and condescending. I read another review with a similar experience - the response was so revealing. No apologies or attempts to understand what could have gone wrong. Maybe he had a very bad day, since I definitely didn't experience what the five star reviews here describe. But one expects a customer service person, in particular the owner, to be able to separate personal issues from professional behavior. I am just an average homeowner in the area with deep roots in my neighborhood. I hate to leave a bad review, but I feel I have a greater responsibility to my neighbors to let them know about this strange apple amongst us. read more

I had to do a smog the other day on a BMW and Alfred is great. This is probably the 3rd or 4th time I have used him and his shop for smog. He is very efficient and the best part is he is one of the only shops open on Sunday's to get a smog done. I am so happy I found my go to smog shop with Alfred! read more

This place that Alfred owns & operates is TOP notch the best of all the Star Certified Smog Check Stations. I've been going to The Smog Stops Here I think even before I bought my 1993 Mazda RX7-FD when Vic owned it & he was also a great & honest individual just like Alfred is. I took my Dodge RT truck back in the day there & now my Kia Forte & also my Toyota 4runner. It was my 1st time here. I drive by this place all of the time on the way to Trader Joe's and I saw all of the fantastic reviews from happy costumers. This is now my place to go-to for doing my future smog checks. Alfred was a big sweetie. He was a genuinely, friendly person who takes pride in his profession and he treats you like your part of his family. You should go. read more

Coming here for over 20 years, always excellent service, and thorough explanation of the process and results! As a disabled woman, far too many businesses take advantage of my obvious vulnerability. Not here! The owner went out of his way to make sure I was physically comfortable and safe, and explained every step of the process before it started. Jon from J&S Auto in Burbank referred me here for my 1999 4x4, Ford Explorer XLT, many years ago. I keep coming back because of the honest, transparent, and frankly, very kind service. I appreciate the accommodation for Covid with an outdoor seating area, and one of the cleanest garage bathrooms I've seen. While some places offer an "under $40 smog check", they hit you with the state and federally mandated fees once you're at their shop. At Smog Stops Here, you are made aware of all costs, there is NO "bait and switch". I was in and out in 20 minutes, paid $69.95, my car passed, and the owner showed me the entire breakdown and explained what it meant. The customer comes first is the Motto here. I am very thankful for the courteous, professional service at Smog Stops Here. Highly recommended! read more

This is only my 2nd smog test since moving to LA and I didn't really know where to go, but Smog Stops Here was very highly rated on Google so I gave it a shot and was not disappointed! I was in and out in 15 minutes and the owner even checked my VIN for current recalls which was appreciated as I had one that I wasn't aware of! Couldn't really have asked for more! read more

This place is horrible. Firestone did repairs on my car. They fixed all the censors on the car and I was told all censors have activated except the oxygen one. They told me I need to drive my car far, so it can activate and then take it again to get a smog check, so it can pass. I was trying to explain that to the employee there. All I said was, "Firestone told me" when he started yelling at me. Didn't let me finish one sentence. Started telling me, "You're saying I'm lying! You believe whatever Firestone told you." He scream at me for 3 to 4 minutes straight, not letting me get a full phrase out. I told him he was being rude and he kept screaming and arguing, at this point alone. I decide to leave and just walk away from him. It is ridiculous that someone would behave live this in a place or business. read more

I had a fantastic experience here. I realized when I went to pay my registration renewal fee (very close to the deadline) that I also needed a smog check. This location was one of the only places nearby open on Sunday -- even better, there was no wait! The technician was very helpful and nice. He even gave me advice for my next smog check after I expressed frustration with one I'd had in the past. Will absolutely be going here from now on! read more

Quick and friendly smog check! Answered our questions and offered friendly and prompt service.

$70 For a smog check??! I mistakenly waited too late in the day to go to my usual place so I went here because it was open an extra half hour.... At least he was quick about it, as I was sitting outside shivering and getting eaten by mosquitoes. But he didn't discuss price with me at all. Granted, I guess I should've asked. Ugh, I looked at the receipt on my way home and was like WTF???! I even called to make sure it wasn't a mistake. Save yourself 30 bucks and go to my usual place, Joe's Smog Check, he gets it done in 5 mins for $40 out-the-door, he's nice, and you can sit in the comfort of your car while he works. read more

Courteous greeting, quick, and thorough smog test service. Easy access from Victory blvd. Thank you!

This place is outstanding! My Prius' 12-volt battery had died and had to be recharged due to lack of use (thanks, Covid!), when I took it in to be smogged it failed. He explained to me in detail that there were several sensors involved in the emissions system, and the car hadn't been driven enough since the battery recharge for two of them to reset. Advised me to drive the car around, both street and highway driving, then bring it back for a free retest. I did; he ran a check before the second smog test, one of the sensors still wasn't reset. I drove around some more (at this point it had been weeks since the first test), brought it back, and it passed. He really went above and beyond and saved me $$ by testing the sensors before running the retest. He took the time to explain what the issue was and how to solve it. He never rushed me to get the retest. This happened back in the spring and I actually feel guilty for not writing a glowing review sooner. That's how excellent the customer service is at this shop. Any time I need a smog check, I'm bringing my car here. read more

Fred is the owner and is a really nice guy. I have an older car and he took the time to treat my car with respect. I passed and he instantly forwarded my status to DMV. He prices are very competitive, even if you use a Groupon elsewhere and there's no hidden fees if your car is oLder than 2000, nor extra charges for the certificate and the ETF. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. read more
