I have come here for a smog for many years now and they are always reliable! The wait depends on what time a day you arrive but I usually wait about 30 minutes or less. The owner is very friendly and they are willing to take the time to highlight your cars problems if it doesent pass smog and what needs to be fixed. BEWARE: most of the employees are very friendly and helpful but when I recently came in they have an older male employee with brown hair and blue eyes who is extremely rude. When my car failed smog the first time he told me what I needed done then basically proceeded to say it probably still wouldn't pass smog. When I came back within the 30 day retest period not only did it pass but he could barely look me in the eye and never said it passed until I asked, but he happily made a series of comments to myself that I found inappropriate. As long as they get the job done that's most important but having employees like that defiantly leaves a bad taste in your mouth! read more

Came in to get my car smogged. During the pre inspection the attendant noticed my mass air flow tube had broken. He notifed me and gave me a slip that would give me 30 days to return and test again. I took my car for Smog test. They did the Smog Test. Smog Test was quick however service was not good. The price of Smog test was standard. Once the smog test was done, they asked me if I want to do the registration as well and I said Yes. What they didn't tell me was it would be extra processing charge. I could have simply registered online for free. They charged me processing fee of 20$ just to do the registration online for no reason. Definitely don't recommend this place. read more

It has been 18 months since I was here, but it has been bothering me that long. I was passing through Sacramento and had some time to burn. I stopped at Smog N Tag with my Dodge diesel which runs really clean, great and smooth. I knew I would pass. Smog N Tag knew I was from out of town and took my $59.75. Very quickly, they failed my truck on the visual inspection without even testing it. They said they didn't like the color of my exhaust. Fail. They refused to test the truck and refused to give me my money back. I took the truck to the dealership who checked it all over and told me there was absolutely nothing wrong, so I paid another smog shop near my home that has experience with diesels and it passed no problem. Pass. I was told Smog N Tag is required to have a certain amount of failures to report to the state, so they saw an opportunity and took it...either that or they lack experience with diesels. Either way, I got burned. I called Smog N Tag back and asked for my money back again since they failed me in error. They said no. I don't like leaving one star reviews and hitting small businesses like this, but they have decided to keep my money, so you can keep this review too. read more

And he told me that I need to drive it 50-60 mph on the freeway for a bit.. something about my computer resetting and would fail the test... so I drove around a bit on the freeway and came back.
