Walked in at 4:54 PM and asked if they had time to do a smog check. Their posted closing time was 5:00 PM. The employee immediately told me, "Nope, we're closed." I asked what time they closed, and instead of simply answering, he said, "We closed a long time ago." I asked again what time they close, and he just told me, "Come back Tuesday." The attitude was unnecessarily rude and completely unprofessional. I said, "Thanks for being so professional and nice," and walked out. What really got me was that after I got back into my car, the owner came outside and suddenly said they could do the smog after all. At that point, I declined. If you can do the service, just say that. If you can't because it's too close to closing time, that's understandable too. There's no reason to talk to a customer like they're bothering you for walking in while the business is still technically open. I'll gladly take my business somewhere that knows how to communicate professionally with customers. read more

The African Americans man who works there it's horrible and needs to be fired ASAP... He is one of the nastiest human beings I have ever encountered in my life. He slammed the doors on my car yanked my wire out of my scanner left it hanging towards the floor and slammed the hood of my car which has probably done damage. We have been coming here for years and we normally can avoid him he knows we do not care for him, but he purposely placed himself in our situation and instead of walking away because we were already being helped he aggressively inserted himself in our transaction and extremely escalated the situation... We were perfectly fine with the two gentlemen that was helping us... They politely asked him to walk away numerous times, yet he refused. He forced himself in my car, slammed my car door in my face and smashed on my gas flew around the corner when I told him do not touch my property... He violently forced himself in the middle of our transaction knowing we did not want to deal with him.. This was our last visit, you've lost a few loyal customers who have been coming here for years. He needs to go ASAP!!! I can't believe a grown man with behave like a child and throw a fit. I can't believe he still works there with that type of attitude. He never smiles never greets you never says hello this walks around looking pissed off . I WILL ALSO BE ESCALATING THE SITUATION TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. THIS SITUATION WAS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE VIOLENT BEHAVIOR read more

ery disappointing experience. The company reset our account settings without the owner's authorization or permission. Making changes to a customer's account without proper approval is unacceptable and creates unnecessary problems for the business. Communication was poor, and we had to spend additional time fixing issues that should never have happened. I expected much better security practices and respect for customer authorization. I would not recommend this company based on my experience. read more

Smog N Tag - Came in at 5:38 on a Friday and lady in her condescending tone turned me away and said they were closed. Okay then - Smog Check Stations Near Me - North Highlands, California

They are great about getting you in and out as quick with multiple bays open. Why I do not want to smog there again is because of their negligence to stay on top of the changing laws around diesels which they actually passed after showing them the requirement on bar.ca.gov. read more

Not enough space. Unfortunately some of the employees do not know the basic hoses in a vehicle!! Won't be back!!

The smog check took about half an hour at noon. Within 10 minutes, DMV had no "Needs smogcheck" note.

Dropped in for smog check, renewal, and tags- In and out in 20 minutes, and $30 cheaper than where I used to go where I didn't have anywhere to sit- that was a nice "perk". I'll be going back next time read more

I went in for a smog, they were friendly, the price was a little high but for the fast and friendly service I'm ok with that.

I have come here for a smog for many years now and they are always reliable! The wait depends on what time a day you arrive but I usually wait about 30 minutes or less. The owner is very friendly and they are willing to take the time to highlight your cars problems if it doesent pass smog and what needs to be fixed. BEWARE: most of the employees are very friendly and helpful but when I recently came in they have an older male employee with brown hair and blue eyes who is extremely rude. When my car failed smog the first time he told me what I needed done then basically proceeded to say it probably still wouldn't pass smog. When I came back within the 30 day retest period not only did it pass but he could barely look me in the eye and never said it passed until I asked, but he happily made a series of comments to myself that I found inappropriate. As long as they get the job done that's most important but having employees like that defiantly leaves a bad taste in your mouth! read more

I can't say enough about this location. I have been taking all my cars and my families cars for a long time . David was so helpful and went out of his way to check something for me. So many places lack great customer service these days but I have never ever had a bad experience. Thank you to all the guys that have treated me with kindness during all these years. read more

Came in to get my car smogged. During the pre inspection the attendant noticed my mass air flow tube had broken. He notifed me and gave me a slip that would give me 30 days to return and test again. I got the part fixed and was back 2 days later and passed. The attendants were friendly and approachable and they honored their offer with no problem. In and out in 15 mins. Definitely recommend read more

I enjoyed my visit to Smog N Tag. They were very nice and service was quick. I even got 10.00 off from a coupon I just happened to find on my phone. They will be my "go to" from now on. I did not realize you can pay your registration there and get your tags on the spot! I had already paid mine so I will receive mine in the mail. You can even pay your registration and get your tags if you're not due for smog. How great is that? I highly recommend them! When I first pulled in I thought they were pretty busy but they were fast! read more

ITS 447 and they are closed !!! I can yesterday and they said their Wi-Fi was down now the smog machine is down I'm definitely not ever smelled in another car here again because they paid off my balance and said I have a free recess all because of a legal air filter that any other shop will approve but this one particular business Told me to take my air intake out and put stock. What a waste of my time in a bad look for a business yes I will let them know I gave them one star...This is ridiculous wasting my time and gas money especially since they do not announce it on the website that they are closed read more

It has been 18 months since I was here, but it has been bothering me that long. I was passing through Sacramento and had some time to burn. I stopped at Smog N Tag with my Dodge diesel which runs really clean, great and smooth. I knew I would pass. Smog N Tag knew I was from out of town and took my $59.75. Very quickly, they failed my truck on the visual inspection without even testing it. They said they didn't like the color of my exhaust. Fail. They refused to test the truck and refused to give me my money back. I took the truck to the dealership who checked it all over and told me there was absolutely nothing wrong, so I paid another smog shop near my home that has experience with diesels and it passed no problem. Pass. I was told Smog N Tag is required to have a certain amount of failures to report to the state, so they saw an opportunity and took it...either that or they lack experience with diesels. Either way, I got burned. I called Smog N Tag back and asked for my money back again since they failed me in error. They said no. I don't like leaving one star reviews and hitting small businesses like this, but they have decided to keep my money, so you can keep this review too. read more

Got smogged and tagged! Thanks guys ! This is my go to spot they make the process simple and easy including fast service! They are also very honest and helpful, they do their best to ensure we get through the process successfully. If you any pass they will explain what exactly is the issue and point you in the right direction if needed. Just smogged 2 of my cars and that's a big win for me! read more

I took my car for Smog test. They did the Smog Test. Smog Test was quick however service was not good. The price of Smog test was standard. Once the smog test was done, they asked me if I want to do the registration as well and I said Yes. What they didn't tell me was it would be extra processing charge. I could have simply registered online for free. They charged me processing fee of 20$ just to do the registration online for no reason. Definitely don't recommend this place. read more

i have come here for many years for my smog needs today 3/23/24 was not a good day the irresponsible smog tech knowing that it was raining, and my window did not close he took my car out to the rain causing water to poor into the interior of the vehicle causing water damage to the seat, door and carpet seat i am very disappointed with the way it was handled. now am stuck with the cleaning and repairing of damage. read more

Quick and friendly service! I came in for a smog check and my car died! I explained to the man at the front that I haven't driven it in months! Since it's my extra car. And he told me that I need to drive it 50-60 mph on the freeway for a bit.. something about my computer resetting and would fail the test... so I drove around a bit on the freeway and came back. So glad he gave me that tip! Such a nice man. During my short wait.. I also heard him making small talk with all the other patrons too! I would def recommend this place! read more
