MH Handyman was one of three estimates we received and theirs was substantially lower than the other two. Plus Mike's vision for adding the shower made a lot more sense than the other two companies. Because the bedroom is relatively small, the other companies wanted to convert the only closet in the room into a shower. Mike found a way to add the shower and keep the closet!!! This was perfect since we wanted to eventually rent the room out and a closet is a must have. Most contractors go over budget and take longer than the estimate, but Not MH Handyman! They completed the work in the exact time they said they would and charged us the exact amount estimated. As a matter of fact, they fixed a few other minor things not originally in the estimate. Mike came over each day to review the work and progress of his team each day. Rather than having one person doing everything, he sent a specialist for each aspect of the project: plumber, painter, grout and tile work and so on. However, Mike himself was the master planner and designer. All three closets were built incorrectly in the exact same way and did not match the reference image or instructions. When I pointed this out, I was told it must be a manufacturer defect. He throw away pieces of the installation without consent. The closet manufacture confirmed it was incorrectly installed. There were incorrect drilling and the back board was all incorrect. I contacted FixTman customer service and was told to call the manufacturer and that FixTman would pay for replacement parts. However, the store's only option was a full return, which I accepted. FixTman sent another handyman Chris the next day who looked at the previous person's job and told Nihal he could not fix it because some of the primary tools that came with the closet were missing. After that, FixTman - Seattle attempted to charge me extra for the additional handyman I never approved. I was initially promised a full refund, but later received a call offering only a 10% refund instead from Nihal. This company does not stand by its word and does not take responsibility for poor workmanship. I am still trying to obtain the full refund that was promised, and they are unwilling to honor it. Avoid this vendor at all costs. The company proceeded to deny my refund and I filed with Thumbtack who saw the incident gave me $284 fully back.
