Pork Roll, tomato, mushroom omelette with cheddar cheese.

Smithville Bakery is a wonderful place for fresh baked goods as well as a place to have a tasty sit down breakfast. We arrived for breakfast and waited about 10 minutes for a table on a rainy Thursday morning. The whole place smells great so we were certainly prepared for a nice meal. Our server Courtney was fast efficient and friendly. We started with coffee which was refilled without being asked. I had one of the daily specials, which was a Pork Roll, tomato, and mushroom omelette with cheddar cheese. Absolutely delicious. Came with home fries and cinnamon raisin toast. These were delicious as well. This place is about as quaint as they come. It's like going back in time.

Walking in maids your immediately immersed in visual and culinary delights. From the long row of glass refrigerated pastry displays, a view of some of the baking going on and some of the original brick from this very historic building(see photo for a brief history). The walls are nicely decorated with remnants of its past many antiques such as an old mechanical teller machine, holiday decorations, antique Knick knacks and cooking tools etc. the pastries are delicious and I can say after eating breakfast I was totally satisfied with a fresh meal down to the in house made bread for toast etc. a special thanks to our waitress joy she was very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend you check this place out !

Homemade baked goods are always a smile-producer when baked to perfection and offered at a very reasonable price but to me I never think about baked goods when I think about the Smithville Bakery! Ok, I know that sounds strange, but I am pretty sure that the "Bakery" has been in business since before we purchased a home in Smithville decades ago. Longevity is truly a mark of success but to me what matters most is that the Smithville Bakery continues to provide comforting, delicious, and affordable breakfasts. Yes, when anyone suggests going to "The Bakery" it's all about breakfast. Yes, the fact that the toast is homemade matters but also what matters is that "Cheers" like feeling you get from the wait staff. It seems that everyone working at "The Bakery" knows who you are. And, frequently when you are at "The Bakery" you will see someone you know (Alright, that matters for locals but if you are visiting that "hometown" familiarity only sends off good vibes not exclusivity.). Always check the special board because some very nice surprises can be discovered there. The regular menu offers the choices you need to have a good breakfast before walking around the "Village of Smithville's" eclectic group of shops. The coffee keeps coming ... the conversation is good ... and yes, when checking out you just might be tempted to purchase some baked goods because after all this is the 'Smithville Bakery!'

We arrived at the adorable Historic Smithville at 9:30 am on a Monday, which was sadly before most of the shops and restaurants were open.  Thankfully, we saw that the Smithville Bakery was serving breakfast, and do not let the name fool you, the place was much more than your standard bakery.  While there were display cases full of pastries in the front of the space, there was also a decently-sized, diner-like room just beyond that, which was full of tables.  The décor was actually made up of antique and historical items from the town and the surrounding area, which made the space like a small museum.   The restaurant was packed, but we were still able to get a table after only a five minute wait.  Our gracious server was a pleasure and really fit the homestyle vibe.  Their coffee was bold and flavorful.  My Egg White Vegetable Omelet was perfect!  It was not greasy and included some of my favorite vegetables, such as mushrooms, spinach, and tomatoes.  It was served with crisp, seasoned home fries and house-made raisin, whole wheat toast.  It was such a satisfying breakfast!  So satisfying, in fact, that I was able to escape the bakery without indulging in any of their giant, decadent sweets as I left.   The Smithville Bakery offered delicious food cooked from the heart and an environment just as touching.

Sfogliatella, blueberry lemon bun, walnut & raisin sticky bun.

Classic bakery setting serving up old school delights. Parking was easy around 10a on a Friday morning & inside wasn't too crowded. We ordered the sfogliatella, walnut & raisin sticky bun, and lemon blueberry sticky bun. The walnut & raisin was dry; the lemon & blueberry seemed not fully baked. Both were dissapointing. The sfogliatella was perfect & made up for the other 2 items lacking a bit. This dessert takes a long time to make so it was nice to see it on the menu! If you've never had one - Sfogliatella means "small, thin leaf/layer", as the pastry's texture resembles stacked leaves. Crunchy on the outside, soft & creamy on the inside. I'd go back if the buns were fresher & made fresh.

Small, cute and quaint. Be prepared to be there for a while. Small portions good Experience at least once in your life.

Bacon Omelet with Pepper Jack Cheese

I went here on a Saturday morning with my girlfriend. We have gone here in the past, but this was my first time in awhile for breakfast. I ordered the bacon omelet with pepper Jack Cheese, Home Fries, Toast and Coffee. Overall, the meal was really good! I would say that the omelet was really cheesy to my liking, personally. The service was really good as well! Overall, I would recommend coming here for breakfast! They also have some nice baked goods, which are very good too.

Day olds are generally not the best, that's why they are discounted, but I didn't expect mold to be on the day old bagels, disgusting.

We bought an apple pie today. Unfortunately , the crust was not baked. The pie tasted like salt. Very disappointed.

Fresh baked goods are my weakness in Smithville offers a variety of things that you hardly see from time to time in other bakeries.

The workers are extremely friendly and the coffee service to go have been quick. They have a wide variety of different coffee and tea selections. I always enjoy an iced coffee or latte. I also like to venture and try one of their specialty drink. This time we tried their strawberry's and cream latte and tiramisu cream top drinks. They were tasty, but they fell slightly short of expectations. I will say the strawberry coffee combination didn't mesh well and the tiramisu drink was mostly ice and cream topping. Nonetheless, my wife and I still enjoyed our beverages. I have yet to try any of their food except for their cookies. The cookies have been delicious, soft with a little crunch on the outside. Tried an oatmeal butter cookie and it was heavenly. I keep looking forward to trying and enjoying the new specials and drinks at this spot!

I've always known the Place as Joe Joe's; a little out of the way for locals only. New owners as of July of this year and I've seen a lot of cars outside so when my Uncle wanted to go out for lunch I thought why not. The new owners have done a remarkable cleanup so the place is bright and airy. Kind of throwback booths that are really narrow if you have a waist bigger than 40 inches, however there are tables available and counter seating. This is a laid back place so don't be in a real hurry. Menu is really basic breakfast stuff and primarily sandwiches for lunch. Check menu since it may change. Several specials on the board Kind of in between lunch and breakfast so I got a ham and cheese omelet with some onions with grits. Omlet and grits were good. More than enough for me. Uncle got a daily special of cup of crab soup and half of corned beef sandwich. He really liked the sandwich and amount of corned beef. Said soup was good and spicy. He likes spice so perfect for him. My wife got bowl of lima bean soup and she said it was very good. My Aunt got a tuna sandwich. She must have liked it because there was nothing left. Two coffees and two sodas. Bill came to $31 so no objection there. This is a basic coffee shop/restaurant that draws primarily on locals and passing motorist. Probably a lot of duck hunters and fishermen in the area too. Like I said; laid back so don't be in a rush.
