I called for a tow and 30 minutes later CJ showed up. CJ is a total professional. He was extremely knowledgeable and skillful. He worked fast but also took the time to prevent further damage. A $337.30 tone deaf and upsetting experience this morning, for a 5 mile tow. Sherry is racist, price gauges, and makes up payment policies. Maddie does not know her job and simply offers a fake apology. The operator last night was threatening, rude, a liar, and dismissive. $95.00 admin fee, $242.00 tow from Florence to Erlanger, and a 5% processing fee (even though some was paid in cash). The operator towed from a parking lot last night at 1am. While towing, an employee that was parked in an incorrect spot, the operator was threatening, rude, and dismissive. The operator while carrying a gun on his side talked down to an employee who was just trying to gather information and process what was happening. When asking basis questions of how much, where to go, and when can I come pick it up, the operator made comments like, "Get away from the car or I have the right to defend myself." "And this car is mine, until you pay for it." Told the employee it would be $100. Call the customer service this morning and Maddie answers the phone. She does not know what she is allowed and not allowed to do, when offering payment suggestions. Apologies for the operator but is unwilling to discount the outrageous amount of money to compensate for the operator's rudeness. Lastly would not provide the name of the operator to report him for threatening behavior with a firearm. After dealing with an operator and customer service representative, Sherry spoke as the manager on-site to see if grace could be given for the situation at hand. Her idea of grace is waiving a storage fee (the vehicle was there for less than 6 hours) and allowing someone other than the owner of the vehicle to make a payment. She threatens to charge storage if we cannot pay in full today, does not apologize for her operator's behavior, and falsely claims the owner of the vehicle is the only person that can pay for discharging the vehicle, with the owner there giving consent. It is upsetting when you have your car towed for something you know you did wrong. However, Smith Towing had the option to be transparent, polite, knowledgeable, and customer friendly and choose to do the opposite of all 4 qualities. I will be calling the police to ensure all the operators have concealed carry permits and I will be suggesting Jabil/Crane use a different tow truck company in the future. Do not provide this company with another opportunity to treat people's car like a ransom. read more

I am trying to get my daughter's personal belongings out of a car that was towed that she was in and they would not let me do that. I've noticed on all the negative reviews that Smith's towing does not comment or try to explain any of that they only comment on the good reviews. I realize there are a big towing company but you don't have to be rude which they are. read more

TONIGHT While exiting 75/71 south on the Mt Zion off ramp, I foolishly ran out of fuel. While coasting as far as my vehicle could down the long ramp, I never imagined I was about to regret pushing my luck not gassing up sooner. Yet I hadn't considered my night turning from unfortunate to down right miserable. See I coasted from ramp to Mt Zion road itself but I had no choice but to turn westward towards the right which is opposite of where all the gas stations are. Further more my speed had lessened to a point which I couldn't ride up and over the roads tall curbs. I had hoped to in the least pull the passenger side of my truck off the road, effectively parking half my truck out of the road way. WHICH MEANT I HAD NO OPTION BUT TO PARK IN THE ROAD. Although I did manage to turn onto Dr Tim Alexander Way. Which was far better a choice than leaving it out on (3 lane wide) Mt Zion road (it's Tuesday 830pm). I wrote note for my windshield stating my name,time and phone number, as well as informing to whomever it may concern that "I ran out of gas and will be back soon". I walked to buy some fuel, returned 35 minutes later. To my surprise my truck was gone. Immediately I called local police dispatch. While I was in the wrong for leaving my truck unattended and it presented a hazard to others. I left a note and my hazard lights on. AGAIN I WAS IN THE WRONG, I WONT DENY THAT. I was told to call SMITH'S TOWING. I did as I was told, called these sorry excuses of human beings. I was to my dismay this SMITH'S DISPATCH/OPERATOR (MANAGEMENT) next victim. This P.O.S was rude as all get out. As well as most unhelpful, bottom line this guy spun me until I was a dizzying and out of my mind frustrated for it took me 5 minutes just to get an answer from him on how much it was to cost me to get my property back. This guy was a D###. For my 40 minute walk to get gas it cost me $180!!! Crooks these guys are!!! He said or I can pick up my truck in the morning for $298!!! Hywy robbery! Shame on SMITH'S TOWING! On God I was nothing but respectful throughout my entire interaction with this Punk. Yet he brought my truck back not where I had asked for it to be dropped off first at Mt Zion Kroger, but seemed more sensible to send it to SPEEDWAY down the road. Which he refused too. Service was excellent, after waiting for almost 4 hours for AAA to send someone out I called Smith's they had a driver to my location on I-75 in Florence, KY in 15 minutes and the flat on my enclosed car trailer replace in 10 minutes. read more

Called around needing tow service and everyone stated they could get out to us till late at night. Called Smith's and they had someone out to us with in an hr. Jeremy was our tow driver. I've used Smiths several times, they are always friendly and affordable. Today had a driver named Charity she was helpful with finding the location of the tow yard that towed my vehicle from McDonald's(we won't get into that here but do not recommend that company at all) she was capable of getting the vehicle in a tight driveway and did it quickly, which I was grateful for because it was very cold out. She was early at pickup, communicated with me about the process and took care not to damage the vehicle. Smiths is all around a company I would Recommend anyone using if you need towing. My car was towed by Smith's towing off of mineola Pike today. The reason my car was towed was totally my fault I cannot blame anybody but myself and I'm not about to complain about that. I am going to complain about Smith's towing trying to price gouge me. I work at Amazon and I had parked my car across the street and a neighboring company's parking lot. My normal end of day is at 5:30 and Smith's towing's normal close of business is at 6:00 p.m. I just happened to have a doctor's appointment today at 5:30 so I left work at 4:00 p.m. walked outside noticed my car have been towed and again totally my fault and called the towing company. The person I spoke to told me that it was $171 and it was a cash only payment. I contacted somebody to come get me drove to facility off of mineola Pike to pick up my car she told me that as long as I have my driver's license and my registration showing that I am the vehicle owner I could pick up my car for $171 and they do not accept credit or debit. I go in to pick up my car I pull out one $100 bill and 4 $20 bills she proceeds to tell me that they do not have change. What kind of company does not have change for a 20? I said we don't have change and she said well we're closing in 20 minutes what do you want to do? I go up to the gas station get change for a 20 return back to Smith's towing pay $171 with my $100 bill 3 $20s and a $10 bill and a $1 bill which I got from the gas station. I feel like a cash only business telling me they don't have any change is a rip off especially that close to closing when people are desperate to get their car back they're only means of transportation. I think other people have probably experienced this and they've been so aggravated they probably just let her have the change and went on about their day. This is a theft however you want to name it it is fast theft of my time theft of my money and they should be ashamed. read more

Smith's towing stranded me for 3 hours in the long term parking lot at the Cincinnati airport. I called AAA at 8:15pm and was told the truck would be there by no later than 9:30pm. Well, 9:30 rolls around and I hadn't so much as heard from a tow driver. I check with AAA and they say the truck is 15 miles away age should call shortly. I give the guy 10 minutes and hear nothing. At this point I call Smith's and get a dispatcher who says that he'll call the driver in question and get right back to me. 20 minutes later I've heard nothing and call Smith's again. The dispatcher tells me that the tow truck broke down, but instead of sending another truck they cancel the work order and tell AAA to send another company. I'm convinced that the dispatcher either never sent a truck to begin with. I find it highly unlikely that a dispatcher would have to call an individual driver to learn they are dead on the road. As a driver, the first call you would make would certainly be to your dispatcher as this is a company vehicle and you have a job to do. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I wish I could give them 0 stars. Kentucky Auto Care provided me with prompt and competent service after Smith's ditched me. read more
