It sucks when I was there, Absolutely NO ONE was social distancing!! The employees didn't even try to separate people. I was appalled.

This Smith's has a new service called ClickList. You place an order online, reserve the day and time you want to pick it up, park in a designated spot, and they bring your groceries out and load them into your car! You pay with plastic, and they run your card right then on a tablet. I wasn't sure about this - so much could go wrong: missing items, nearly outdated, substitutions, etc. But I decided to try it. I placed a big order that came out to 60-some items in 16 bags. When I went to pick it up, as they wheeled the cart to my car, I saw that the bagged items were separated into plastic crates, at first I thought so everything wasn't squashed, but later realized it's probably to keep the freezer, refrigerator, and dry goods separate. Two employees came out to my car, Charles who loaded the groceries into the trunk, and Anna as cashier/csr. I think maybe she came out because I was a first-time customer at this, and she may not need to come out the next time. She took a few minutes to explain more fully their process, and gave me a nice little goody-bag as a first-timer. She pointed out on my receipt that I got all the store specials/sales, the benefits of my rewards card, and my gasoline points. Nice. Whole thing took 5 minutes, never got out of my car. When you place your order online, you can indicate whether you will accept a substitution and add comments or instructions for each individual item. I'm a person who doesn't really like substitutions. They were out of a particular brand of Indian frozen dinner that I like, so I told them to skip it. They were out of my usual brand of feta cheese, so I accepted a substitution - at no charge! I ordered two of something and they only had one, that's okay. They let you know about any "issues" so there are no surprises when you get home. As I was putting the groceries away at home, I paid close attention to the selections. The 4 pkgs of meat were fresh and still cold, the frozen items were still frozen, and the dry groceries were packaged in a logical way. Anything that had a "best by" date had a date well ahead. The produce was fresh - nice yams, huge perfect cucumbers, tomatoes that were just right, ready to eat but not too ripe, the right onions. Next time I will feel comfortable ordering more fresh vegetables. I was told that they have specially trained crews to select your items. They did a perfect job, as far as I'm concerned. I couldn't have done better myself. Other than the aforementioned, my order was complete and exactly as I had ordered it. I'm ecstatic! read more

We shop here often and we get the fuel points. It's our go-to for boarshead meats and we take advantage of their sales. Most of their employees are kind and the rest are super friendly. I only have a couple of criticisms. Twice I've found a double charge on my receipt but they were very happy to refund the mistake immediately. So check your receipt! Its also a very busy store located on a very busy street. If you go between 4-6pm, it's going to be hoppin' with people just getting off work! read more

Smith's has a good selection, this particular one has an awesome manager, but an assistant manager named Nathan is a result of the Peter Principal. Smiths has two cool things going. Their fuel discount program and their free Friday item. Each Friday they send you a link to a free food item you can load to your card. Heck, nothing wrong with free. I buy a lot of stuff online and at area merchants they have gift cards for. I bought $150 worth of Amazon cards, got 4X points which amounted to $.60/a gal off on the gas. I buy a lot of Amazon and Home Depot gift cards there. If I need some stuff at Home Depot, I buy a card when shopping at Smitths, then I go through a cash back site and order online. I get 3-5% discount, the bonus fuel points, and the items are waiting for me at the store. I call that a triple deal! read more

I really like it when they mark down their hot deli items in the early evening ... Chicken, corn dogs, potato wedges, burritos, etc. And, their garlic french bread regular price is $2 a loaf, compared to $3+ at just about any grocery store in Arizona and California. read more

Ive recently been back to Smiths. They have gotten friendlier. However, the deli system still stinks.

Clean store, descent bakery. I'm a big fan of the earning points for a fuel discount. They offer a lot of good coupons and their app is extremely user friendly. Until they open a Publix here, I'll be a Smiths shopper. My one complaint... the parking situation is absolutely terrible! read more

Ah Smiths. The local version of your average Kroger grocery store found anywhere in this land. They're pretty much like anyone else, but for some reason I drive twice as far to go to them instead of Albertsons. Whatever. They're not that much different, but I guess I prefer the feel. The prices might be a hair better, but not much. They've got food, which is nice in a grocery store. I like that they have the gas station out front with prices that are consistently competitive with the cheapest around (and better with the 5-10 cent/gal discount with their loyalty card). I like the fact that grocery purchased can be used for discounts on fuel. But the few times I have used your pumps, I often have to fend off pan handlers. It appears to me that it is tolerated by the store and gas employees. I will not put up with it any longer and take my gas business to a real gas station. This store is one we regularly shop at. The staff we've encountered has been fine and Margret (evening shift) is fantastic. As other reviews have stated, sometimes the deli service can be a bit slow and the hours are not clearly posted so its a bit confusing. The produce section is adequate but I've been seriously bothered by (and have mentioned to staff in the past) the amount of rotten fruit (mostly avocados) that are obviously going to be thrown away. Seriously people, discount them, donate them to food banks, do something rather than just let them sit there at a very high price until soft, mushy and attracting fruit fly's. Letting food spoil like that and just tossing it in the dumpster (regularly for the last 10 years)while taking a write off is despicable. read more

I found out they had a Ticketmaster inside store, at Customer Service Department. I had a few tickets to get, so i knew it would take a bit. They only had one person handling both Ticketmaster and all of customer service. Her name is Amanda; very Professional, Courteous and Helpful. Unfortunately due to the time it took I had people behind me getting very annoyed and angry. Making direct insulting comments towards me. Using Profanity And disparaging remarks. I apologized to Amanda for the remarks behind me. She politely told me that's OK, you were fine. Later that day I called and spoke with Barry the store Manager. He told me he would mention to Amanda the fine and Professional job she is doing and make sure they receive extra help in those situations. I hope to visit Smiths again, But I Would not want anyone to experience the same situation I encountered at Customer Service Using Ticketmaster. read more

Every time I go to this store I end up frustrated. Either there's something missing when I leave the store, I am charged the wrong price for something, or the sale items are not available etc. Thos is inconvenient but at least someone tries to help me. This time however all I was told is they can't help me. You see I bought a gift card but it was not in any of my bags when I got home. I called them immediately and they said they would look for it and call me back. Needless to say no one called me back. Why do that when they can just keep it and use it themselves? Next step: I found an 800 number to call. I navigated the phone tree only to be told by the automated system they were too busy to answer my call and hung up me twice now. Once I am done with this mess I will never shop there again. There is no good deal on earth worth this aggravation. Especially with the gift cards. read more

A great supermarket, with excellent stock and selection, a friendly, helpful staff. The store is well lit, clean and spacious. The products are fresh, they have an in house bakery and sushi made daily. The prices are quite good and they source produce from local farms, this place is definitely worth patronizing regularly. read more

Came in here to get Biscoff cookies, who knew I'd be sent from end of store to another. Cookies are usually with cookies, not here I am sent to Deli who sends me elsewhere. SHERI was "working" in the deli behind prepared foods, When I came up to the counter to ask her where else these cookies might be she is in the middle of having a personal conversation which carries on for another minute and then turns to me and says what. I said excuse me she says what can I do for you and I said well I didn't mean to interrupt your personal conversation but I am looking for these cookies. She didn't even bother to look or check anything out she dismissed to me by saying we don't carry them.. well that is not true because I get them every single week. So I asked her to ask someone instead of dismissing me she said she couldn't do anything for me because the grocery manager was gone. I guess I will go back to Albertsons because customer service here is anything but desirable. What a shame, BTW the cookies were in the entryway area, What a rude employee SHERI IS, management take a closer look at who you hire you just lost two customers. read more

I don't understand how the majority of clerks in one grocery store can be so unfriendly, verging on rude. It has to be coming from the top down. I try to avoid this store like the plague but sometimes its just incredibly convenient as I do my other shopping in this area. I've been in this area for approximately one year, probably been in this particular Smiths 5 times. Every single time employees have behaved as though I should be lucky that they're waiting on me. The word snotty comes to mind. Have been to several other Smiths throughout Albuquerque and never experienced this type of attitude. This has got to be a secret test store...see how rude you can be to customers and see if they keep coming back. Love me some Albertsons, Sprouts, anyplace but this dismal, parking lot from Hades, lackluster haven of unhappiness and despair! read more

Goodness lord why put the rudest person available at the self check isle if she dont want to help it gets old you close the registers way to early and then I got to deal with this rude lady who always stares you down and when she has to actually help you she rummages through your items to see if you stole something are you serious??? Generally speaking, Smiths is a nice grocery store. However this particular location just doesn't measure up. The parking lot is too small and it is difficult to find parking no matter what time of day. Be prepared to wait if you are seeking deli meats as the deli counter is poorly run ( I have waited as long as 30 minutes with only two customers ahead of me, damn my love of Boars head ham!). The store opens at 6:00 AM. yet there have been several instances where I've arrived for shopping between 8:00 and 10:00 AM. only to find the bakery has yet to have bread available in the case. There seem to be an awful lot of management types standing around "observing" rather than pitching in even when things get very busy (again ESPECIALLY at the deli counter). Unfortunately, the grocery store options are pretty limited in this town so I'll continue to endure the foolishness that is the Rio Rancho Smiths food & drug but it sure would be nice if they'd get their stuff together! read more

The staff at this store is phenomenal. The frontin supervisor Chris is outstanding. He will go the extra mile to help. Since he been at the store the staff has gotten friendly. Recently I had a loss of a member of the family and Chris made sure I was ok. I can't say anything bad about the store. read more

The grocery store is great, but every time I get gas here I get hit up by panhandlers looking for "money to buy gas" or "my baby needs diapers." This time a young guy who was a little menacing looking walked up to the women pumping gas, but not the guy filling up his truck. Sorry Smiths, but not a good message. What was disappointing is that the person running the gas pumps isn't paying attention to the customers and the people walking up to them. Some more security would be great. read more

I love this grocery store it's not the staff your lucky you get a hello or a smile at the checkout but I love the variety of products and can usually find some pretty good bargins! I love Kroger stores yet completely disappointed with the meat counter lately it stinks and seeing blood in the meat packages isn't appealing they use to have the sanitizer to use after you touch it wish they would clean it up better at times its ok others not so much..Also the parking lot is rather dinky watch out when going in to the store or coming out if you have kiddos they will run you and them over people are rude and speed bumps aren't for slowing down obviously but otherwise oh yeah don't go to the restrooms up front they are always nasty and lucky if they have toilet paper in them if you got to go either leave or go to the one in the pharmacy it is usually a little cleaner and its just a private bathroom is nice when you have kids. Also good luck in the deli section of getting help there is one nice younger guy who says hello and such and that annoying begging sushi lady but its nearly impossible to get help, you can stand there and wait for over 20 minutes while they talk or whatever it is they appear to be doing beside ignoreing you.. read more
