I stopped in here on my way back home to Detroit and talked with who I believe to be one of the owners for a good 15 minutes about different craft beers and breweries that we liked. Prices were fairly comparable with places around the Metro Detroit area too. I was jealous of him for being able to get his hands on Three Floyd's relatively easily (seriously, start distributing to the Mitten guys!) while he was jealous of me for being from Michigan and having such a vast array of great breweries at my disposal. Can't blame him there. Plus he lives in Ohio, the Armpit of America, so that must suck. HA! Seriously though, I loathe Ohio (mainly because it is God awful to drive through, plus the whole sports rivalry thing), but this guy and this place are cool in my book.

(He did not look to confirm). We went out of our way and rushed our activity to get to the store before they closed. They did NOT have the bourbon in stock and there was not even a sticker for it to go on the shelf. Not a happy customer!!

I was more expecting french fries when I ordered the Pommes Frittes but they were a slightly mashed up, small, potato spuds. Still really good tho. They had a special wine list for the event. I love sparkling wines & the Cava from Spain was fantastic! Sitting at the bar the Joui team took care of everyone so efficiently. I also enjoyed a glass of Champagne & finished off with an Aperol Spritz. Their wines to go selection is great & I picked up one of my favorite natural wines Meinklang from Austria to take home to enjoy. I can't wait to visit again soon.

So, we were pleasantly surprised when they were a stop on a food tour we took recently! They are in a beautiful old Victorian home with lots of charm. The hosts were very personable and told us all about their business and how they got started. We look forward to going back and hanging out for a little longer next time.

I'm here 1-2x per year if friends request to go. I'm usually one and done. Drinks aren't that great, and they're not well-balanced. They are more affordable than craft cocktails elsewhere, but you get what you pay for. Back to the service. We have experienced the most awkward rude service here repeatedly, which is so odd, as we know most of the long time bartenders around town and don't experience the same elsewhere. I'm not sure if it's management, a bro, toxic male culture, or what, but these dudes are jerks. It had to be said. If it was once or twice, fine, but something's amiss. Sorry, guys. Do better.
