Dayton Smiths Pharmcy drive up is hit or miss. I asked them the hours they are opened and was told we we are slow at the conter.

The new Pharmacist is lowering the amount of people's pain medication that the doctor has prescribed them, WITHOUT even talking to the doctor or the patient!! People are in pain, some are terminal and she is doing this!!! Who does she think she is? GOD?!! This is unacceptable on so many levels!!! read more

My daughter loves all of the staff (especially Fairy Princess Jess)! The sushi area and the man who works there is another one of my daughter's besties. Look- the pharmacy is BUSTING at the seams, but you know what? I have flu A and was about to pass out waiting for my prescriptions. I asked very nicely if they could PLEASE help me because I was about to pass out and they got my prescription out 10 minutes later. I'm sure there were thousands of prescriptions to be filled, but I was there, ready to pay, waiting, and NICE! Kindness can go along way. This store is so busy at peak hours. This store is AWFUL! We have had issues with ordering groceries and how they bag items, we have even had issues with meat juice spilling all over produce and cheeses, management told us it's how they are told to bag, whatever. Tonight though we pick up groceries and a good portion of them are missing like cheeses, meats, toilet paper...those items add up. We have called now 5 times and spoke to someone who took our name and number. We spoke to someone to only be hung up on. It's frustrating, I chose to shop at this store and their customer service is terrible that this is the last time after I get my groceries that I paid for. read more

I recently placed a large catering order from the Dayton Smith's. I had a great experience from start to finish. They have a large variety of choices on their catering menu. We ordered a variety of sandwich platters and some fruit and vegi platters. Everything was very fresh, there was a good amount of food and it was all presented beautifully. Several people at our event commented on the quality and freshness of the food. Furthermore, I had to contact the deli staff a few times to make changes to my order, and every interaction was pleasant. They were consistently friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Overall, it was a really positive experience, and I would absolutely recommend them for catering. If you want it shorter, more enthusiastic, or more casual, I can rewrite it in a different tone. read more

Due to medical issues keeping me from shopping inside the store as much as I used to, I use the curbside pick up and order online. I have been using the service for 2 years and have only had 2 occasions where items were wrong. Smith's was fast and efficient on fixing the issue. We just moved to the area and I had our previous prescription transferred to this pharmacy because it's the only one I saw in Dayton. It's a prescription for my cat. The first person I spoke to was kind and helpful. He advised me to call back in a few hours to make sure the prescription had been transferred and filled prior to driving over and picking it up. I called back to confirm and the lady I spoke to on the phone was nice. She sounded like she was in training since I could hear another woman's voice in the background. The lady in the background was condescending and started making fun of the fact that the prescription was for my cat. She also started mocking his name. I've been impressed with the customer service in Dayton up until this point. I don't appreciate being treated like a joke and I hope none of her animals ever have any heart conditions she has to deal with. read more

Picked up a rice bowl for dinner, since I was working on a project. Time was limited. This is the last time I do this. The bowl was 90% rice and an extremely thin layer of meat and sauce. While it tasted good, I would suggest stopping a Panda Express for something other than rice. read more

I always enjoy shopping at this store. I prefer it over Walmart. The food & fruit is always fresh. I have never gotten sick from the food that I've bought here. The reason I say that is because I've gotten food poisoning multiple times after purchasing frozen food at Walmart. So I have peace of mind when I buy my groceries here. All of the store associates are nice & helpful. Everything is easy to find & there aren't tons of boxes & carts full of merchandise that needs to be put away in the isles. I typically always have a shopping cart, so it's inconvenient & hard to get around when store isles are full of boxes & carts. My dad & I went here a few weeks ago & my dad accidentally left his wallet full of cash at the self checkout machine. We had only noticed it was missing once we were on our way back to his home. We both had a heart wrenching feeling that his wallet could be gone forever.. Still, we turned around & went back in the hopes of finding it. The sales associate had it waiting for us. He said that he noticed it & picked it up right away. There wasn't a penny missing from my Dad's wallet! We were both so thankful that the associate was observant. If he hadn't seen my dad's wallet, we would've lost a lot of cash. I wish I could remember that man's name. He deserves to be recognized for being on top of his job & also for being so honest. They have it all there! Great service, great food & it's nice & clean in there too. Smith's will always be our family's go to grocery store. I am on a food budget. I look at Smiths ads and, counted them.....over 800 digital ads. They only let you " clip" 200 maximum. They send you these ads to " clip coupons"every couple of days.Its like they think, all I have to do is pay attention to their plethora of clip ads and clip the ones that will save me money. Ha! Smiths in Dayton,Nevada is already 10% higher than most grocery stores in Carson city,Nv. The physical ads in the stores are deceptive. Example.....Milk $3.50/ gallon in big letters....then in small, small letters...with card or digital coupon, you go to check out and get charged the higher price.I wish there was a better grocer in Dayton. read more

Ugh... this Smith's seriously needs an attitude check. Unfortunately, customer service at this store seems to get worse by the day. Pharmacy staff are overworked and won't help much if you have an insurance issue... yet, the insurance company tells you that the pharmacy needs to call them to figure out why they can't process a claim. I called Kroger customer service last week and am still waiting on a call back from the pharmacy manager. Ordering seems to be very hit-or-miss - I get it that COVID has things screwed up, yet this store still misses considering other Smith's stores in the region have those products in stock. They need better management so they things flow a little bit better. Stop stocking during busy hours and help your customers. The pharmacy needs help desperately. The last several times going to the pharmacy the lines have been horrible!!! Twice I've waited for 45 minutes only to be told that my prescription would not be ready until the next day. This was after waiting over 24 hours before going to pick it up. So if you need same day service I'd suggest you go somewhere else. I had tried calling to confirm it was ready only to get no answer. It doesn't seem to change no matter day or times. I tried going on different days and times and waiting for no less then 45 minutes each time. I was out of one of my medications for over 48 hours last week. Their assistants are so nice and it's close to home. I am missing save marts pharmacy though. Please get them some help. read more

Smiths pharmacy has a terrible reputation regarding their reviews and how they treat their customers. They are very rude and condensending. They can not handle the volume of business they are receiving from this community. When people go to urgent care or emergency, they most likely are in need of their medication immediately due to pain or whatever the need may be. That's why they went to Urgent care or emergency in the first place. This community is in dire need of another pharmacy that treat their customers with better respect and empathy. And can relieve Smiths Pharmacy of their lack of ability to genuinely care for the Dayton community. I suggest writing to your congressman and or chamber of congress like I have done. Dayton is growing rapidly... we need another pharmacy period...Smiths pharmacy could care less especially the people that work there. They must hate their job. I don't have a problem with this store itself, but I do have a problem with the pharmacy. The pharmacy is drastically understaffed, and this has created a lot of problems with being able to pick up prescriptions. If your prescription is even ready when it's supposed to be, the wait times standing in line to get it are beyond unreasonable. It's become usual for the line to wind it's way through four aisles, and a lot of people either don't have the time to wait that long or they are physically unable to do so. We are going to transfer our prescriptions to a different pharmacy. I have to say, for all the stress they must be under, the pharmacy staff has always been friendly to me. read more

Dayton is lucky to have such a nice store! I have not been in this particular one in a very long time, and it has really been updated. It is also a full service store. they have a bank, and booze, bakery, deli, floral, pharmacy, meat, seafood and wine departments. They also carry cards, stationary, organic and kosher food and various kitchen and home accouterments. Upon walking in it felt open and clean and well lit. Items were nicely displayed and it did not feel cramped. The staff were helpful and friendly. A large number of the checkout lanes are the self service type, but it was adequately staffed if help is needed. This is a really nice option if one is on the road traveling on US 50. Great stopping spot it you are heading east as there are not many option between Dayton and Fallon. read more

Just left Smiths. So embarrassing! I accidentally did not scan my short ribs and here comes the self checkout cashier. I get it she's doing her job. Now I bought much more expensive food than those ribs, yet I scanned all my other items. After all that, here come like 2 to 3 managers and stand by. Wow!. I get it people steal a lot!!!. Anyway I've had a very difficult year and sometimes as humans we don't do things right. I thought I had scanned it and did not. It was just very embarrassing. I'm giving it 4 stars because they have a friendly staff. Awesome store. Was just uncomfortable. Not the first time this has happened. Seems we are in a long line of people having issues with this store. They usually have one checker plus self check, I've seen as many as 10 people in line, so we are always in a long line 8 am is not the time to go, the folks that put stuff on the shelf have boxes everywhere, I always wonder about the ice cream sitting on the floor the people pulling orders for pick up are rude and block every row, and/ or they cut you off if your walking through, they cleary don't gave a damn about the customer the pharmacy takes forever, somedays they are helpful, most days its a 5-10 person line, and when your stuff isn't done they say how many orders they have pending, I care if I'm asking for a rush, but I'm looking for an auto fill that my husband ran out of because no one bothered to fill it. we have made 3 trips to get this one script, and out here is a 20 minute drive, today he witness an pharmacy employee tell an upset customer, waiting inline at 815 (to finally get told the open at 8 am is for shots). anyway, employee told customers if they didn't like it they could go somewhere else... trust me in saying.. if we had somewhere else to shop in town, a lot of us would be going there. Why when I want to order deli meat do I have to stand at the counter waiting for the THREE "customer service" reps to: finish their conversations, unpack 2 boxes of whatever, stock the meat, in the cheese cooler and still tell me they'll be right with me? Love the team at the meat counter and Bakery the Bakery was so amazing they made my Daughter's Birthday cake and it was PERFECT. I would recommend them highly. There parking is not well planned out which causes well... I also enjoy the friendly staff. On the negative bad planning on there stocking always large carts in isles. I feel so unsafe in this store. What is the deal with the pharmacy? Sometimes up to 25 people in line, many unmasked or partially masked, line weaving in and out of isles, some sneezing and coughing..in the middle of a pandemic! Mask mandate not enforced what so ever. Put in a request to transfer scripts out of here and they never did. Veggie and bakery section feels chaotic. Deli is understaffed, hot section usually picked over and hot to go chickens the size of game hens. I feel very unsafe here. I've shopped here for 15 years but recently had to move my prescriptions here as my insurance no longer uses my old provider. I know staffing is hard to come by because of Covid, etc. But none of those factors effect attitude and boy what an attitude the cashier had! The pharmacist worked hard to fill my meds and kept me informed all the way. Thank you! But, the girl who answered the phone was argumentative and when I picked up my meds the cashier said I needed a consult. I told her I didn't need one as I have been taking these meds for years. She responded "YOU DON'T HAVE A CHOICE!." How about instead of being rude, say something like, "It's pharmacy policy to have a consult for this reason." or something appropriate. We were influenced to buy a Dayton home recently in near proximity to Smith's. Little did I know then how many prescriptions I'd be taking so the pharmacy especially has been very convenient for me. Moving from an Oregon city where there wasn't a Smith's, I appreciate the store's deli and bakery but would love to see an expanded produce section and additional frozen vegetable offerings. I don't buy much in the interior aisles of the store, being a "rim" shopper. I'm not crazy about a bank being in the store either but with Wells Fargo leaving the area, there are fewer choices. Overall I am happy with the store and pleased that they're accepting VISA payments again too. read more

I'm a customer of Smith for about the past 5 years, have a smiths credit card and savings card. I an also not a California transplant and a senior of this Community that both my wife and I work outside of Dayton Nv. We shop at Smith to help employ the ppl of Dayton, because it is much easier for us to stop elsewhere since we are employed outside of Dayton. I feel that since I shop in Dayton smiths, that it's because of me ppl stay employed. With that said, went to Smiths tonight (6pm pst) and kind of busy, the boy at the front door was more interested in his hair and not the customers is not acceptable to this customer. And please tell me since when you get a job, get paid, are in customer view, does he get to have skinny, chained, ripped paints? Not acceptable and also not "FAIR" to the other employees! The boy bagging (blonde hair) was trying to keep up with all the customers, while MR HAIR was off talking and fixing his locks. I have been an executive in administrative for over 40 years before moving to Dayton, and if it was up to me, I would be writing up his direct manger.
