Our family favorite is the Ploughman's Lunch: rosemary ham, mango chutney, pickled red onion, cheddar, and lemony arugula on a Portuguese roll. It's the perfect balance of savory, tangy, and fresh. Our second go-to is the Pig and Fig, which is just as delicious. They also have gluten free bread available. In addition to the sandwiches, their cozy shop sells cheeses (if you love blue cheese you have got to try Rogue River!!), charcuterie, natural wines, craft beer, and carefully curated accompaniments like jams and chutneys. After waiting a long while for the person in front of me to sample cheeses, discuss cheese, etc. I thought it was finally my turn. While waiting I had picked up some canned seafood. However, instead of helping me, the person behind the counter then moved to a different register and announced that people would need to take numbers (though I had seen no signage indicating that I should have done so). Two people who had not been waiting (but were standing closer to the numbers) then went ahead and took numbers before me. Luckily, one of them took pity on me and said that I should go first since I had been waiting. The man behind the counter then insisted that we switch numbers. By this point I was so frustrated and had been waiting so long that I just purchased the canned seafood in my hands and left without buying any cheese.
