    The Village at Waterman Lake

My parents, unfortunately, were both experiencing health issues when we made the decision to move…read morethem up here from North Carolina to be closer to me. I visited several Independent Living homes and the Village was by far the best. It's set on top of a hill overlooking Waterman lake which is breathtaking from spring through fall. The facility is immaculate and the staff goes out of their way to make sure the residents have the resources they need. One of the first things I noticed when my parents moved in was how friendly and welcoming the other residents are. You can tell people enjoy being there, and my parents did too for their short time there. Their health deteriorated faster than any of us expected and they both needed to be moved quickly into the nursing home. If you meet Moriah, the general manager, (or house mom as my parents called her), she is always dressed to the nines with flawless make-up and four inch heels. When my dad needed to be moved to the nursing home, I noticed she had swapped out her skirt and heels for jeans and sneakers. She and two of the facility nurses pushed my dad down to the nursing home in a rolling recliner to make sure he could be moved comfortably and safely. She did the same for my mom when it was her turn. Moriah set-up the move in days and pushed my mom's wheelchair, this time in her heels, to her new room. If my parents had still been in North Carolina when their health crashed, or in a less accommodating facility, I don't know what I would have done. Every staff member in that place from the top to the bottom did what they needed to do to take care of my parents, and that is an invaluable service when you are dealing with aging loved ones.

Please I beg of you DO NOT send your family to this place. Every single day all day for months I…read morewas there with my father and his care was still so poor. He was so depressed being there that he stopped eating and starved himself to death. He had a stroke and he was almost non verbal but I understood him. so prior to not eating he was in a private room and without telling us or even explaining to my father what was happening they came in, collected his belongings and wheeled him down the hall to a shared room as he's saying "this isn't fair this isn't fair!" (he couldnt get any other words out). He stopped eating that day realizing that all of his rights and dignity were gone. This place left irreversible scars on my family. As he's dying we had to beg for him to get into a hospice room and all they would say was no..with zero reasoning. One day a nurse came in and said in front of my father that we could take him to the hospice room so he could die with dignity and we could mourn our father in peace. We cried we were so happy he finally was going to be able to be in a room that the neighbor didn't have the tv blaring and joyous laughter and conversation while he's literally dying. his roommates family was walking into our side of the room to use the bathroom all day. 5 minutes later administration comes over and says "we can't do that you were misinformed". Again, no explanation and again my father had no rights. This one lady didn't like my mom because she called her out for The poor care he was receiving and she called the shots so she took it out on my family, my father in particular. I walked in on a Wednesday. he was practically fallen out of his chair, I asked for him to be put in bed and that would be the last time his feet touched the ground. Our hospice nurse ordered meds which no nurse at the facility followed up on. We did. He needed comfort meds he was in horrible pain. He FINALY got his first dose and how relieved we were that this beautiful man was finally out of pain...they skipped his next dose "oh I thought he got it"-how dare you. He woke up from sedation in writhing pain. I watched helpless as I never left his side except to sleep. Admin knows exactly who I am and I never left his side. He died in my arms within two days in a room only a curtain away from a stranger with a tv blaring next to us. He deserved so much more. SHAME ON YOU ADMINISTRATORS. You know who my family is and you should be truly ashamed to even be in the business of caregiving because that is not what you do and that is not what you did. I hope you're haunted by the deaths you've so deeply aided in. There is so much more and most of it people wouldn't even believe, but I can't relive all of these events I only hope to help someone else. Spare your loved ones the pain of this. His entire life lead up to that one moment and you didn't even let us have that. You should be so ashamed of yourselves. Kristen HUTTON, the daughter of our beloved father Thomas Hutton

Nice Than Most…read more Sadly, I had to move my mother into this facility. Seeing that she has been in and out of several assisted living facilities in the past year, I have to say this is the nicest of them all. Clean, decent food, bright colors, and modern. They could have a couple more CNA's on per shift but for the most part they do a decent job. It's the best alternative for a bad situation. Thanks

    Comfort Keepers Home Care

Comfort Keepers Home Care Lincoln, RI Office…read more I cannot begin to express how profoundly grateful we are for the exceptional care Comfort Keepers has provided for my Dad. When he came to live with me in April 2025, he arrived under hospice services for his Alzheimer's diagnosis. We prepared ourselves for decline--but instead, because of the extraordinary care, compassion, and consistency of Comfort Keepers, my Dad has thrived in ways none of us could have imagined. He is happier, more engaged, and enjoying a quality of life we feared he had lost forever. In fact, he is being discharged from hospice this Friday because he no longer meets criteria. This outcome is nothing short of remarkable, and I credit it directly to the dedication and specialized support he receives every single day from Comfort Keepers. Before working with his current CNA, Bo, my Dad was cared for by Max, who provided outstanding support and helped him transition safely and comfortably into our home. That strong foundation made all the difference. When Bo joined us, the care continued seamlessly--and then elevated even further. Bo goes above and beyond in everything he does. He treats my Dad with unwavering dignity, patience, humor, and genuine respect. His presence has transformed our home, giving my Dad structure, joy, routine, and meaningful connection. We feel blessed to have him. Our gratitude extends just as deeply to Vanitie and Kathy, whose communication, guidance, and coordination ensure that nothing ever falls through the cracks. Their level of professionalism combined with their heartfelt compassion is something truly rare. Comfort Keepers' specially trained caregivers engage my Dad in intellectual, physical, and emotional activities that beautifully complement his medical care. These interactions have enriched his days, strengthened his spirit, and given our family hope during a time we thought would be defined by loss. The impact on our entire family has been immeasurable. Comfort Keepers has not only cared for my Dad--they have given him life, comfort, joy, and dignity. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone at Comfort Keepers. We are forever grateful.

The manager, Holly, came to my mom's house with a good pitch. She is a warm and affable…read moresalesperson. She fit my mom with a decent match. The company nickels and dimes you, so my mom's bill was never 90$. It had to do with calling in 5 minutes early or leaving 5 minutes late (15 minutes charge). I guess what bothered me was when my mom died and I cancelled the service, the aforementioned manager , Holly was all business with zero sympathy, even fake sympathy. I had met her and knew she could be charming so the newly brusque attitude was hurtful. I am past their rude behavior but Holly's lack of compassion is not forgotten. That is a personal aside. My mother did not have many memory issues and complained about the extra charges. If your loved one has some memory issues or just doesn't pay attention they will take advantage.

Horrible experience where we were misled, entered into a "VIP Buyer agreement" that was ANYTHING but "VIP", worked with a lender who was recommended and kind but also pushy, we informed everyone from the start we had some taxes to file for my husband's business, and were informed only after we were under contract that we did not meet eligibility requirements to qualify for the RI first time down payment assistance loan in time for our closing due to our IRS payment plan timeline! (FYI- their preferred lender might not explain to you until its TOO LATE that you need 3mos of IRS payments to qualify for this down payment assistance!) Received a verbal extension from seller to extend closing for a week, which we took and decided to eat it on our down payment assistance loan just to get into this property. Turns out no one kept up communication from the seller, who flew in for closing, and they never actually signed the extension. We signed a termination to protect our deposit at 9:30am on a Thursday. Asked for and received NO updates until a text message at nearly THREE AM the following Sunday informing us that the seller had indeed backed out, and signed their own termination of contract?! On the same Thursday we signed ours, at 3:30 PM?! And they had had "no updates" for us for DAYS?! Selling AND buying agents are colleagues at this same agency, yet communication was abhorrent. Complete lack of understanding the urgency of such matters. Thank god we got our deposit and our "VIP" buyer payment for a total of 4k back- that was the ONLY positive to come out of this experience. Never again!!
