Kratz is ok if you are looking for someone to just toss pills at you but he seems very unconcerned about taking initiative as a doctor to help with the many medical issues I have. As far as the staff, I wonder how many people know that when you call you are not even calling the office but an outside call center. You can not reach the actual office. There have been numerous mix ups in my medication and scheduled appointments due to this. I have requested a meeting with the office manager three times and have never heard back. To get a prescription refill they have signs asking you t call in 24 hours ahead of time but they will tell you when you call it could take 48 hours. I have waited over five days waiting for a prescription to be refilled before. They absolutely will not accept walk ins. My son has been sick with a chest thing for over a week and we tried to cal to make an appt. We were put on hold for forty five minutes and just hung up and went there. They would not see him even for a minute. We ended up taking him to the hospital. I have been to many doctors and specialists over the ears due to diabetes, fibromyalgia and an immunity disorder and have never in my life seen an office who is so incompetent in my life. Not on would I not recommend it, I would actually tell people to avoid the place

I recently moved out of the area but I haven't changed PCPs yet so I decided to make the hour drive to the office because I urgently needed to see a doctor before leaving for an international trip. Due to traffic I was running a few minutes late, which I called to inform them. They very rudely said over the phone that they have a 5 minute late policy. I arrived exactly 7 minutes late and the doctor refused to see me (after I begged the office staff to check before turning me away). I informed them I drove from an hour away and there was rush hour traffic, and that I was leaving the country in 3 days. There was not a single other person in the waiting room. I could understand if they were extremely busy, but they were not at all. They were extremely rude, and didn't seem to care about me as a patient whatsoever. I wouldn't return to this office if my life depended on it.

I asked if I could see Dr. Hess and they said to call urgent care so I did. I do not like going to urgent care for one it cost me a $75 copay and the PA does not know me nor my history. I broke down and went because I was so sick. After taking the meds that PA prescribed it did not get any better, in fact, continued to get worse. I called Dr. DIckson's office again asking if they can prescribe me something different without having to come in since I JUST saw a doctor, they said they had the record. They said no I had to come in. So....I call to make an appointment feeling very ill and I am told they have a few openings but cannot book them until the next morning at 8 AM and I should call right at 8 so they don't get booked before I call. I am at work at 8 AM. I explained this to the person on the phone. This is extremely frustrating when I feel this sick and cannot get in to see my doctor. I am not sure what has happened to this office, it used to be a "family" practice now it seems like it's just a business.

In my experience, the professionalism, compassion, and attentiveness expected in a hospital setting were severely lacking. I found Dr. Renee Sandlin to be dismissive and unkind, and it appeared that patients' concerns were not treated with the seriousness and dignity they deserve. It was particularly troubling to witness behavior that came across as mocking or insensitive toward individuals in vulnerable medical situations. Rather than prioritizing patient care, the atmosphere seemed focused on processing patients quickly and generating billing. As a result of this experience, I no longer feel safe or confident seeking medical treatment through WellSpan. I would rather travel to the next town and receive care through UPMC, where I believe my health and well-being would be treated with greater professionalism and respect.
