They have a variety of books, programming, and areas to relax and find a pocket of space. They also have computers, airy spaces, and clean facilities. The parking is ample. One thing to note is that on the way there, it can be hard to locate because a small road brings you to the library and there's quite a few trees around so it's nestled away from the highway.

They seem to get some adult fiction, biographies, bestsellers, but the selection is not great or consistent. The website is not user friendly (or accurate) at all. If you try to renew a book online, it actually deducts days from your original due date for some peculiar reason. When I called library staff about it, they were mostly unhelpful. The last time I went in to pick up a book, I was ignored by 2 young people just sitting around talking/laughing. I had to walk over to another staff member who was doing other work to get checked out. This used to be a MUCH better run library. Not sure what has happened, but I'll be driving over to the next city for books from now on, even though this library is several blocks away. It's a shame.

And I have lived in 6 states, visited several and been to plenty of libraries all over the place. My mouse for my laptop clicks so I don't want to use it, I'm sticking with the touch pad on my laptop. I am going to do everything in my power not to sneeze, cough or breathe too loud. I'm in libraries and coffee shops quite a lot and have grown accustomed to hearing children's chatter, music or phone conversations. Not here though, it's old school quiet like libraries of yesteryear. There is a large, wonderful area for children but on this side of the library you don't hear them. I love libraries this size. There are chairs, desks, tables, love seats, study rooms, media rooms, meeting rooms and even vending machines for your snack break. The restroom is nice, big and clean. And books, of course, they have a huge selection and if I moved to Collin County, which I probably won't, I would likely frequent this location. The library itself is all self-service based as you checkout your books using your digital library card and pick up the held books at the entrance which is placed based on alphabetical order of the first letter of your last name. Great collection of books for kids and adults. The only thing l wished they had more toys for kids in the play room, I find that some toys are missing some pieces and not well maintained but otherwise a great place to get your kids to spend some time with books.

I was surprised since the library in Houston all close at 6:00PM. Library is a place where we can being indoor with the AC and a restroom to use if need to. There are plenty of parking space here and there are some steps to go up to the main door and there is a ramp near the handicap parking space. My only complain is there is not enough tree planted area here for some shaded parking space. The first floor is the kids section. and downstairs is the adult section, they have stairs and elevators. There are pretty of chairs and table. There is a puzzle table where anyone can work on the puzzle and that was where we spend our time there. The staff here are very friendly by helping me to pronounce the name of the library was named after properly.

I give them back the books I've read so they can be sold to others. I can't afford the prices of new books, so I wait until they are used and buy them.

The Rowlett Library is just that - an inviting place where everyone is welcome and all the staff is over the top nice! My daughter and granddaughter got their first library car le there, and my granddaughter immediately found wonderful books to check out. Its well designed, and I loved the books they had on the top of the displays for the children to see. My granddaughter was so excited when she saw them. The other thing I really like about this Library is... it's very engaged with the community. Over the summer, they had activities every day for the kids. That speaks volumes in my book!

The library has been our go to since we moved to garland in 2021. The entire library system in…read moregarland is amazing and helps me keep my kiddo busy all summer or during school breaks. From baby story times, to toddler activities, and even up to teen board game nights or adult book clubs, there is always something to do. The new library is gorgeous and the staff is so dedicated to helping. Even without an event, we go and read in the book books or play a board game on the bottom floor in the kids section. I am sad the slide didn't work out and wish they would remove it - I think it ended up being too dangerous and the slide is now closed to the public

It always seems loud in here so I wouldn't advise trying to get anything done where you need it to be quiet. I like that they have a drive-up book return too -- very convenient. This library does not participate with the Libby app -- not at the time of this writing -- so if you reserve an ebook, you'll need to download the app they do work with. They FINALLY got more parking added here -- it's been so tough to find parking but there's a long new section of spaces now.
