Muffler Doctor & Auto Clinic in Cottage Grove was great. Needed muffler repair on one of our cars…read more Didn't want to spend much as this car bluebook value is really low (although any good running car is invaluable these days) Was pleasantly surprised by Muffler Doctor. I called, and they suggested I really had to come in, which makes sense. They gave me options/pricing, and really tried to keep the price low. The dealership quoted me $4,000 (to be clear, dealer did say 'shop around') to repair whole system. I drove out of Muffler Doctor with a repaired, safe, car for just under $200.

Today I brought my Subaru in for brake pads and rotators... I thought easy fix. Well I was informed I needs calipers too. $900+ visit... after speaking with Tim, I remembered I had an extended warranty. After all was said and done, the Subaru dealership has to replace everything due to a manufacture issue. Tim was helpful through the whole process, and charged me NOTHING. When I asked if I could at least pay something for the diagnostics, he stated "oh no, I mean I would hope someone would do this for me in your situation." You do not find that kind of customer service anywhere now days. Most shops are all for themselves and how they can make money. It's great to know there are still good businesses and business people out there. Even the advisor at Subaru mentioned the guys at Muffler Doctor are good people. So if you're looking for a great place to bring your car... this is the place!

We learned a lesson this year. A few years ago we finally decided to buy a snowblower. Well as a…read moreresult of some light snowfall winters the past few years and some great neighbors that have sometimes cleared our snowy driveway while we were away or at work, we have only used our snowblower a couple of times. As we were preparing for this season our snowblower wouldn't start. With the referral from a local hardware shop, we found a great gentleman to fix our snowblower. He recommended that we use non oxygenated gas for our snowblower and lawnmower. The non oxygenated gas will last longer and not breakdown as quickly as regular gas. So we headed over to Duffy's which is just a few minutes from our house. They were actually closed however you can pay at the pump which is what we usually do. I noticed that not only do they have non oxygenated gas, but also racing fuel, do car repairs and have a ladies day. Yes a ladies day on Tuesdays. We are fans of the local places and family owned places and Duffy's is that type of place. Since this is our only visit so far, couldn't quite give them 5 stars. We'll be back again and hopefully check them out for some repairs, but hopefully not too soon with the car repairs.

I would not recommend this place. I went there for the time on Monday to do a oil change and they…read moredidn't even do it correctly. They forgot to put the tower back in before putting the new oil filter and it completely crushed the new filter that they put in. What a waste of money and a big waste of time trying to figure out what was causing my check engine light to turn on all because a job wasn't done properly.

I went to get it serviced for an oil change on Sunday, March 8th between 11-11:30am. The tech came…read moreto me saying they couldn't do it because my coolant hose broke and sprayed them. They claim its corrosion but I couldn't accept that it happened on its own. If a hose or something was bumped, it would have caused it due to the pressure. It would not happen on its own. I didn't have any prior issues before bringing the car into the shop for an oil change, full synthetic which service was never completed. I didn't understand what was happening so I said I needed to call my husband to be there. They were trying to push me out of there saying I'm impeding in their business. You broke it, I can't figure out how to get home or get my car fixed? They showed me the video and you can clearly see the techs arm against my engine line and immediately moved his arm when it broke. They claim it happens to any vehicle on its own. I don't believe that to be true. We had to get it towed and brought to the shop and they investigated further on the damages. The valvoline manager called with a customer care rep on the line saying they'll pay half of the damages saying it's not fully their fault and he claimed it was the age of the car and corrosion, and said it was probably leaking before and I told him he has no evidence to be making that claim that my car was "probably leaking" or have damage prior to coming in. It happened at the shop so the shop is liable to the damage. It didn't come in there like that. It happened at the shop so the shop is liable to the damage. It didn't come in there like that. I would like a FULL reimbursement of the damages. The next day (3/10) my husband spoke with the manager Corey again. After my husband told him to pay the bill, the manager told him to send the invoice over to him. It was sent but he told the shop they are only paying half and didn't want to talk to my husband anymore to resolve the issue. My husband didn't tell him only half, but to cover it. At this point, being a loyal customer means nothing if a company does not hold 100% accountability to damages. We have a claim with Valvoline and make sure they further investigate the incident.
