I am a frequent supporter of the other big pharmacy brand, but swing in Walgreens when the need aligns with convenience, which is normally this location. My latest visit was after a PT appointment in search of some tape and braces for my elbow. I found what I was after tape wise, and while they had a brace, it was a bit pricier than I was willing to spend. The store, interior and exterior, could use some TLC conditionally. Inside was clean, but the parking lot needs some attention. Service is okay. I wouldn't classify it as friendly, but neither rude. Somewhere along the lines of "meh". Overall, this location is a choice out of convenience. When needed, I don't mind swinging by.

Walking through the Assembly Food Hall we cut off some of the uphill climb up John Lewis Way that is bothering Dad's knees. Now walking up John Lewis Way we are passing by the historic Woolworth Theater and what looks like a Theater District. At the crest of the hill, we step inside the only downtown Nashville Walgreens. At least the only one I am familiar with near Broadway. This store is "blah" in comparison to the Walgreens that I am familiar with in major cities such as Las Vegas, Chicago, San Francisco,and Denver. Their Nashville caps are overpriced and fail to strike me. They fail to carry the bullet beer (24 ounce cans) that I want to pick up for the hotel room. However, they have cold beverages and snacks that my Dad and Brother are buying. I am headed to Starbucks for my beverage. Toi, who rings up my Dad and Brother, is a friendly and personable Cashier. When we return to the what looks like a Theater District along John Lewis Way, being empty handed of purchases allows me to photograph the Woolworth Theater." I've been here numerous times and experienced really rude and unprofessional service (e.g. I've personally been and seen others be judged and berated at the photo counter when picking up items "late" i.e. within a week or less of placing the order). Sometimes customer service has been nice or fine, though (e.g. one time the photo department called me when they found my photo order, which I appreciated - since when I went to pick it up the first time, they didn't find it). I return here for the location only, but I wish for a more consistently cordial (if not friendly) and efficient experience.

When I brought up the issue to the Publix pharmacy, they acted like they could not care less and stated that's all they could get. I started calling around- remembering that Riverside pharmacy was over by my parents house, I called them, not holding out much hope. Lo and behold, they had my Adderall and it was by the good manufacturer! I switched all my scripts over to them and have not looked back. I could not be happier. When they were out of my usual dosage last month, they didn't even hesitate to fill it with an equal amount of a different strength. I didn't have to jump through hoops, wait on my overburdened doctor to take weeks to approve, hand over a pound of flesh or my firstborn son- they just took care of it, quickly and with a sense of humor that is missing in so many other pharmacies. I'm serious about the friendly service. I've been going to this drug store once a month for almost two years because I like taking magic pills that keep me from spawning little Valories. After just two months they not only knew me by name, but what prescription I was picking up every time. I never have to tell them. I never call in my prescription. I just walk in and they know. If only every aspect of life could be like this. I am really terrible at small talk. I'm just so bad at it. I never know what to say, I'm kind of shy (I think I just heard everyone that knows me well laugh collectively), I sometimes say awkward things. The employees here love to make conversation and even know about the lives of some of the other patrons. I chalk this up that everyone in this town knows each other and I'm a new comer. I think they've taken pity on me so they don't really try to small talk me anymore, which I appreciate. They greet me pleasantly and I greet them, they get my prescription, we pleasantly say bye. End of perfect transaction. You never really have to wait that long, but just in case you do you can sit and watch the television or look at the many goods in the store. It's like a tiny department store with clothes, purses, cookware, jewelry, etc. Seriously, stop giving money to the chain pharmacies where the pharmacists have superiority complexes and bad attitudes and sadistically make you wait hours to a day for your medication. If you're in Gordonsville or Carthage, this should be your new pharmacy.

The wait at the pharmacy drive-thru was minimal, and the pleasant pharmacy employee walked me through the whole procedure with grace and good humor. Within two hours the results were emailed to me. There was no charge for anything during the process. I'm not sure there has ever been an experience more deserving of a five star review.
