If you are a scrupulous shopper you can catch some pretty good deals on power tools or other items that are well below the cost of a big box store or even Amazon. Today my need and find was to get some steel wool. Needed to clog some holes on my front porch in hopes of keeping birds away this summer. They had it and it was only $2.50. $3-$4 cheaper than every other brick and mortar store. You will usually have to wait in a line at checkout. But, it moves pretty quick. Most of the items are "off brand" items that they carry. But, the quality of everything I have bought from them is very high. They sell extended warranties with almost everything you buy. And their return policy is solid. Save your paper receipt or they will text/email you a copy as well. Coupons change out almost weekly and there are some good deals. You just have to watch for them. The crud on the walls and elsewhere would indicate that the city health department had better wear gloves when they go in there or possibly to inspect it when I'm through with this review. I'm a middle-aged woman who went to pick up her hubby's (first and last time) desired tool. No help from anyone around, though the cashier directed me to the aisle I needed. With all the different types of tools, I stood there like a newborn wondering which one I needed. Then of ALL things, nature called. It was NOT something I had planned on, but due to all the looking around, it just happened that I had to use (ohmygod) the women's room. Which I'm not keen on using ANY public washroom, but nature isn't fair at times. I found the Women's bathroom and there was an OUT OF ORDER sign on it. Not good...I made sure I had vinyl gloves on and I approached the Men's room. That TOO was out of order. Say, what? I tried both doors, locked. With no sales crew on floor (both were in the stockroom area not doing much of anything), I walked back to the front of the store diagonally from where the public restrooms were and the male cashier told me HE was the manager which I found out from the girl employees that he indeed was NOT the manager. So, Jose LIED to me saying he was the Manager and furthermore instructed me to go to the grocery store that was a considerable distance from the store which I KNEW BEING AN ADULT I WOULD NOT MAKE IT IN TIME. BEING A HIKER AND HAD THERE BEEN NO CAMERAS AND SOME WOODS AVAILABLE TO MY USE, I DEFINITELY WOULD HAVE GONE THAT ROUTE. I can only surmise how filthy either the public Women's or Men's rest rooms were; thankfully, I didn't have to be shocked in addition to the mistreatment I incurrred. Most importantly, he REFUSED in front of customers that I COULD NOT USE THE EMPLOYEES' BATHROOM. AND I TOLD HIM I COULD NOT MAKE IT TO THE grocery store to use their facilities AND WITH THAT I TURNED AROUND AND WENT AND FOUND THE EMPLOYEES' BATHROOM. In this day and age, there is NO excuse to deny a customer of 12 years' the use of a facility that I've never needed to use in the past. If you have low lives that trash your bathroom, then you can do what gas stations do in such areas, you provide a key and monitor who uses the bathroom which keeps these incidents non-existent. YOU DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT DENY A CUSTOMER USE OF A FACILITY IN TIME OF EMERGENCY, BOTTOM LINE. I've contacted Harbor Freight headquarters and gave them this same information along with the key points. 1) Jose is a LIAR. 2) Cheyenne was nice enough to give me the 800# but the cashier's name but not the REAL manager of the store. 3) Can't disclose the bathrooms which I surmise may be cleaner than the crud of dirt in the employees' bathroom--obviously the health department doesn't go in there to inspect if it's their requirement--and if it isn't, it should be. I would say a men's truck stop bathroom was cleaner than the Women's Employee bathroom, but I feel very sorry for the women employees as I'm sure the crud on the walls, the door--even if they aren't the best of domestic cleaners HAS to be better. I'd be depressed if I worked there and had to use the employee bathroom which was devoid of paper towels but luckily had toilet paper.

Well, read on and let me explain. My daughter and son-in-law were in the market for some railroad ties. They needed 10 to complete a project. I knew that they would have to make a number of trips with their vehicle to transport, so I offered to help with my vehicle, my Subaru Outback vehicle. I know, I know, lol, but let me continue. I asked the son-in-law, uh, how long are these railroad ties? Eight feet, he replied. How long?! 8 feet. Hmmm, do you have a tape measure? Yep, here you go. Well, my Outback measures just shy of six feet. The ties will have to stick out the back. I know, the "ties" as in plural. LoL, oh, it gets better. It seems that the local Home Depot in West Knoxville, was fresh out of railroad ties. But, Oak Ridge was flush with them. We'll just drive out there. So off we went, my daughter and I, in my Outback with an almost 6 foot cargo length, and my son-in-law in his Toyota Sienna van. Oh, did I forget to mention the van? The family van that transports 4 kids as well as the parents? LoL.... but wait, there's more. Oak Ridge isn't as close as I thought. About halfway there I asked my daughter if we had crossed the border into Kentucky! That got a chuckle out of her. Eventually we arrived at our destination, and into the vast warehouse we ventured. After perusing for awhile and not finding what we were looking for, we found a worker and he told us "you'll find the ties wayyy out on the edge of the property ". Why weren't they inside, we thought. We soon found out. Off we trekked to the edge of nowhere. Wayyyy out yonder to the farthest edge of the property. Well beyond where any sensible patron would park, or even think to hike. Binoculars would have helped us find these ties. These eight foot ties. Yes, these eight foot sticky ties. These eight foot, sticky, smelly, railroad ties. Boy did these things stink! No wonder they were stored on the south 40 acres. It didn't help that the days temperature prior to our visit reached triple digits. The stickiness and smell were in full bloom that early evening. So here here we were, thinking that we were going to transport these 8 foot, sticky, smelly railroad ties in our pristinely clean, fresh off the conveyor of Zips carwash vehicles, one of which an essential family vehicle, down the road to West Knoxville. Oh, another small detail that I forgot to add, each one of these suckers weighed 250 pounds! Some detail, huh? SMH...I was completely and absolutely oblivious as what to expect. Ha!!! All I wanted to do was help. LoL. So now what. It turns out that you can rent a flatbed and they'll load it. God only knows how it'll get unloaded! I guess, fortunately for me, my help is needed elsewhere. I'll have to leave this task to the son-in-law and his dad. They're troopers. They'll make it happen. I hope my daughter takes a video. All I wanted to do was help. Instead I learned a lesson, we all learned a lesson.... The ties that bind, are better left behind. There will be an addendum to this story. One that I'm sure Home Depot will be a major contributor to. Until then, they get my 5 stars, if only because they helped make for a fun story. Quick Tip: Lofty goals aren't that easy to reach. Especially when you're dealing with railroad ties. Eight foot, sticky, smelly, heavy, too big for passenger vehicle, railroad ties. I guess we should have been clued in if we had considered that these things have to be strong enough to carry the weight of 400,000 POUND LOCOMOTIVES!!! LOL, LOL!!! Believe me. We're not dumb. Review of Lowe's Home Improvement - Fence Installation Experience…read more DO NOT GO THROUGH LOWE'S READ BELOW Lowe's is trying to unjustifiably take $2660.40 for a "restocking fee" of materials NEVER ORDERED. I contacted Lowe's for a fence estimate. A representative came to my home 6/27/26, took measurements, and quoted $12,636.90. That same day, to solidify his sale, I was pressured into obtaining a Lowe's credit card as a financing option and charged the full amount to the new card on the spot. Lowe's then delayed the installation for over 30 days. During that entire time, no materials were ordered, nothing was delivered, and no installation work was ever performed. I received zero product. When I canceled on 8/6/26, Lowe's refused to refund $2,660.40 as they claim it is a "restocking fee" for materials they never ordered and I have proof via text message confirmation that no materials were ordered as of 8/6/26. I have already paid $127 toward the credit card balance for a fence I never received and was billed a second time with interest, totaling a minimum payment of approximately $475, still having no product/privacy fence, no service provided, and no installation of the fence. This has caused a significant time and financial impact on me, including multiple days of missed work trying to resolve a straightforward situation where no goods or services were provided. Now I am being required to go to small claims court to get the rest of my money back, adding to that missed work. I am seeking a full refund of the purchase price, $12,636.90, return of the $127 already paid, cancellation of the restocking fee, and compensation for the lost wages caused by Lowe's refusing to simply reverse the charge. Extremely disgusted with the experience with Lowe's Home Improvement as well as the sales process at my home. They should be fined for defrauding a customer, deceptive practices including the complete lack of follow-through along with the repulsive greed and unjustified fees associated with Lowe's cancellation/refund policies.

It's called customer service which is sometimes hard to find at a lot of places. The multiple times I've shopped at this location I've never had any trouble finding someone to answer questions about a product for help finding a product. The store is clean and in the shopping center that has ample parking. I purchase an item here and needed to exchange it for one that worked and there were no issues with completing this task. This is wine of the better HF I've been to.
