I used Smiley Pets for my dog walking for a year while living in the West Village. I work in the office 5 days a week and so having a reliable care provider for my dog is essential. My dog experienced multiple different walkers with no problem throughout the time of service, but the last walker we had did not get along well with my dog. My dog has never had any issues with other walkers or people in general, so the fact that my dog showed aggression to the last walker made me think something bad happened. When the issue came to light Smiley Pets decided to cancel service on me without warning leaving me scrambling to find another care provider. Very poor experience at the end. read more

Choosing a dog walker in Manhattan is a stressful process for me as I want someone that is timely, consistent, and professional, but also a fun and pleasant experience for the dog and has the skill set to know dogs. Smiley Pets owner Georgia and her staff (my walker is Angie) fit the description on all fronts for me. And they prove to be a good value for the cost. I have a Boston Terrier who's very easygoing and doesn't need much exercise, and is trained to go potty in an instant so doesn't need much time. The mid day dog walk is a break in her day for socialization purposes and go potty, and Smiley Pets services and time slots worked great for us (they have a menu of walk options on their website). I needed someone who could understand dogs' signals - I don't want someone who forces the dog to be outside in spite of the dogs mood, weather, or other factors, but I do need the dog to be on a set schedule. I asked Georgia if I could meet her in person first and understand her company philosophy. She was fully open to it, and when I saw how easily my dog warmed up to her at the first visit and after she answered all my questions (it was a full on grilling) it was an easy choice. We've walked for close to a year but as I'm moving out of the area we have said farewell! If you want someone who is super casual, has flexible times that can change the day of, will have flexible hours so will take your dog for 15 min as scheduled or two hours because she feels like it, this is not your place. If you want someone that is consistent, professional, timely, responsive, relatively no nonsense but obviously understand and care about dogs and their owners, I highly recommend you contact Georgia/Smiley Pets! read more

I tried for four days to find a dog walker that was willing to walk our four month old Frenchie on a Sunday evening and all I got was a bunch of unanswered calls and companies that had per week minimum. Smiley Pets was the last call I made, and I called Sunday morning at 10:30am. Georgia answered the phone and explained a little about how her company operated and her fees. She was more than willing to take our little girl on a walk that evening. Later that day she showed up exactly at the time she said she would, took our puppy on a nice walk, sent me a text message with pictures from the walk, and feed her dinner. We left Georgia a little extra money because of the huge favor that she did us and she didn't keep it. She left us change! Highly professional, great communication, reasonable prices. Smiley Pets has done an absolutely outstanding job in every aspect of the business. They do a wonderful job with customer service, communicating with me and Jaxy (my little pup) is noticably happier since beginning his walks with Jesse. It is such a relief to have a dog walker that I can really trust and rely on to go above and beyond my expectations. I have lived in the city with my pup for a little over 3 years and prior to meeting Jesse & Georgia from Smiley Pets my experience with Dog Walkers in NYC had been absolutely terrible. But I was pleasantly surprised when I decided to give Smiley Pets a try. Every time Jax is walked, Jesse (my walker) leaves an entry in his dog log (which they actually provided) about his walk and they even track his walk with a pedometer(which they also provided!) so I never have to worry about it being cut short! I am so happy to have found Smiley Pets and Jesse in particular. I have seen such a change in Jax's demeanor! He is a happier dog! He hides under the bed less and doesn't have tons of excess of energy at bed time. I would reccommend Smiley Pets to my family, my friends and honestly anyone who has a dog! Let me start by stating I am not a big fan of writing reviews, but after a two week test we were sold! We have tried a couple different dog walkers, and found that Smiley Pets is where it is at! We have a large Akita, that needs someone who can handle a large breed dog, and we found that person! Additionally we travel and tend to work long hours, Smiley Dog always answers our calls and saves Dexter from having an accident, because you can only hold it for so long. The rates are very competitive and well worth every penny! I have and will continue to recommend Smiley Pets and suggest you do the same. read more

Georgia and her team at Smiley Pets are top notch! She treats my fur baby as though he was her own. I used her services for 1.5yrs 5 days/week and also boarding and was never disappointed with the quality of service and 100% trusted her & team with my baby. Her team is highly professional and excellent at following directions (wipe paws, amount of treats, walking routes, etc.). Also, my doormen commented numerous times how wonderful Georgia and team are with handling my baby and that they are very punctual and follow allotted walk time precisely. They truly care for the pups and were sincerely concerned and regularly checked-in with me when we had a little health scare with my baby. Sad to leave Smiley Pets by moving to the West Coast. A friend of mine recommended Smiley Pets and I gave them a call. Georgia has been absolutely great to work with, and answers emails as fast as I send them! My dog walker Argelia is absolutely amazing and dog sat for my puppy when I had to travel on a business trip. I moved to NY just over a year ago and researched dog walkers/boarders online before my move. I immediately liked the sound of Smiley pets after reviewing the website. I was going to be living in temp housing upon arrival in NY and needed someone to look after my dog during this time. I called Smiley pets and arranged for my dog to stay with Georgia. I was incredibly nervous to leave her with somebody I didn't know but Georgia was amazing. Upon arrival to NY I handed over my dog (whilst crying) to Georgia who did her best to reassure me that she would be fine. During the week she was there I got a load of photos and updates that put my mind at ease. From then on Georgia became my dog's walker and my dog is obsessed with her! A neighbor recommended Smiley Pets and we could not have found a better walker! Georgia and her walkers (our regular walker is Argelia) are fantastic! They really love and care about our dog and take excellent care of her. They leave detailed notes every day after her walk and include a pedometer to show how many steps they walked each day.
