This is an update to my original review shown below. 6/23/2020Had a little issue at first with an employee one Sunday however I was able to speak to MAX Elimelech believed to be one of the owners and he told me to come back in which I did later on that week. Max apologized for the previous experience I had with another one of his workers and made it right for me. He took his time and patient cut my key and went out in the hot sun for a few minutes few times to program my key to my 2011 Camry. Lastly he give me an unbeatable price I couldn't refused. What a way to do business, they really make it effort to satisfy each customer and in business things sometimes go wrong but they make it there priority to make it right. MAX, thanks again for all your help. I really really appreciate it. On 6/21/2020 I came to this place 5:20 to only find the door locked however online and hours on the door posted said they close at 6pm. I meet another customer in the parking lot waiting in her car and she said hey I called the number and the guy said he's on his way back. I waited for 50mins they guy finally showed up at 6:10. He attend to the lady who he had spoke to on the phone first then he attended to me. First of all the guy seem drunk. He hopped out a gray van with the company name on it and his pants was wet like he pissed himself. He opened the shop. I give him my blank key and my key fob for my 2011 Toyota Camry. He goes behind the counter and then tried to open the fob. He trying to open the fob with a screw driver for 5mins then realize hey I can't get this open. Then he says we can't work with this Amazon fob, ITS CHEAP!!!! I said excuse me, he goes we can't work with this. I said first of all I didn't get this from amazon. He gives me back the fob out of his hand. Then is where i saw that he never even took the screw out the fob in the first place. I then told him, sir you haven't even took the screw out the fob how were you trying to open it. He gives me this weird look. I told him ok, can I have the blank key back. He turnt around went to the table behind him and give me the key back. I'm piss now because my BRAND NEW OEM FOB is all scratch and dented up because this idiot didn't know what he was doing. I came to this place due to there reviews as this is my first time needing a lock smith as I need a second pair of keys for a used car I bought. I will give this place ZEROS STARS if I could. It is good to have at least one extra key to your home, car, or in this case, your motorcycle. After reading forum posts, we went to ACE Hardware as soon at it opened at 7:30 AM. We got excellent customer service in terms of friendliness and speed, but the key was a rough fit. Too much jostling would inevitably cause it to break. The forums strongly recommended going to a locksmith. After seeing how skilled they were at their craft, that was our next shot. Smiley Locksmith had stellar YELP reviews and ratings. Add to that, it was minutes from the job and the home. So at 9 AM, we were there with our Yamaha Virago key in hand. Two gentlemen stood outside who we thought were customers too. Nope! They were the proprietors, and jovial ones at that! We all went inside, and they found the key ASAP. The sounds of the key making were similar to the ones we'd hear at the dental appointment we would have later that day. hahaha!!! Everything was done within minutes. And we do mean minutes! Want a time? Less than five minutes for two keys attached to a key ring!!! Mind you, we called the day before to see if they had the key available. Not all locksmiths carry motorcycle keys. Great service! When I called, I was directed to call one of their locksmiths on the road. He told me the approximate time he'd be available (1-2 hours), and I requested that he text me when 30 minutes away since I had to Uber back to my VW Tiguan that I needed a new programmed key made for. He did that exactly and we met right on time. The entire process only took about 20-25 minutes, and when he was done I was given a great deal on the extra valet key so that I would have a back up since my purse was stolen with my spare that I had before. Extremely friendly staff, very reasonable prices, but more importantly expertise beyond the ordinary. Oh Wow!! These Guys Are amazing!! I purchased a remote key from Amazon that say its the exact fit for my car. I needed a key made for my Kia Sorento, but I knew the dealer would want $300 - $400 to cut one. I found the blank on Amazon for less then $10. After finally getting around to it, I went to Smiley to get the key cut. The cost was extremely reasonable compared to the dealer, $45.00. The guy who took care of me was professional and very knowledgeable. I would HIGHLY recommend this company for any lock issue you may have for your home or auto. Requested a quote for a new 2013 Mini Cooper Key fob, and metal key on a Sunday through Yelp. They responded super fast within minutes a quote of $200 plus $12 sales tax. After the first installation of medeco locks on one of my condos, I decided to give Smiley another chance. Initially, the installation was fine, but after a few months, the second medeco handled lock malfunctioned and created a situation where i was locked Inside the condo. I stopped by the store to have the issue repaired, was told by Max that it would be taken care of quickly and now over 2 weeks later haven't heard from anyone. After spending $500 on both installations and because of their supposed reputation, I expected more from Smiley. Until this issue is resolved, I can not recommend Smiley Locksmith to anyone on Social Media, my colleagues at work or any of my real estate clients that are purchasing homes locally. read more

After some issues and miscommunication, Smiley Locksmith came through in making the keys for my accordion shutters. This was extremely frustrating for me because my fiancé is in the National Guard and was activated since this morning. Thankfully, my fiancé was still in town and able to come home to help with the shutters. Not recommended! I had and still have an exterior impact door that is stuck locked. Smiley's came, opened the door and then with in a week it would not open again. I contacted Smileys who came again during a heavy rain. Since it was an exterior door we agreed they would come back on a better weather day. That was 4 weeks ago and 5 visits to their store with them saying they would return to correct the door, but required an additional $85 service call to which I agreed. They never came back. The only "Smiley" is for them charging my credit card for the initial visit. I only have a locked door and numerous unfulfilled promises to return and correct the problem. read more

I took in a defective car fob. I had a working one with me. When I called, I was told it would be $80 to reprogram or $250 to replace. I showed the defective one to one of the locksmiths. He wanted to replace the battery. I told him I had already done that and couldn't he try reprogramming it. He said no and I would have to pay $250 to replace it. I left as I felt this was excessive. I checked Youtube and followed directions to reprogram the fob. It now works perfectly. Surely the locksmith knew it could probably be reprogrammed. read more
