The thing I liked best was that they had many unusual varieties that aren't found in other donut shops. My favorite are the chocolate filled and strawberry cream filled. The cream cheese filled had a fizzy taste and seemed a little "off." The old man who ran the place had his own recipe and had been cooking donuts since the 60's. I believe his daughter operates it now, and it's known as Poppa J's.

The glaze were the best I'd tasted in a long time. Not doughy or extra sweet. The shop is so cute we especially enjoyed the donut printed tables. The man at the register was so super friendly. I am from the city and to come to this small country town and experience some old fashioned hospitality was refreshing. I definitely recommend this place

This time I got a bag of donut holes and they came with a toy! Love that surprise. My main purchase is always the boudin kolache. I love the boudin they use and the way the dough is wrapped around it. Some places use the same yeast dough for their savory kolaches and I like the way Donuts Coffee and Cream does theirs best. Warning: everything goes fast so I have called in advance and asked them to set aside a kolache for me. There is a small eating area inside so you don't have to order takeout only.

I considered going through the drive through but since I had never been there before I'd have been looking at the menu holding up progress so I just went inside for a look at all what was left in the way of donuts, biscuits, and kolache. for mid morning there was still a good selection in the cases: I was pleased to find an assortment of conventionally frosted and glazed yeasts and cakes plus turnovers, muffins, and donut seeds alongside a selection of kolaches: sausage, boudin, cheesey things... and some breakfasty biscuits too :-) old fashioned, glazed, sausage kolache and a SEC biscuit got me through the day. seems like a lot but that was all of it all the way to Atlanta where I had a more sensible but tedious breakfast the following morning. donuts are light and taste like donuts (not oil, yea!!) the old fashioned is heavy on icing but not ridiculously so. kolache is firm but not stiff and a bit sweet to help savor the meats. not really impressed with the biscuit but I had it cold with a packet of mustard about eight hours after leaving the shop so that's probably more my fault than theirs to be honest ;-) so yeah, if I had a whirl-o-meter Donuts, Coffee & More would be spinning it pretty hard. if you're near here go here but watch out for cross traffic because apparently headlights are optional in the rain.

We planned a Digital Donut Party over Zoom, but I ran into trouble trying to get a delivery to one of my employees in Opelousas, as neither DoorDash nor Uber Eats covered her area . They made the delivery to my employee, and it completely made her day! She said the donuts were super tasty, too! I highly recommend Mikey's Donut King for their exceptional customer service and delicious donuts . Thank you for accommodating us!

That said, I'm sorry, I was hoping I'd love this place as most of the locals do but it's a no for me. I have to say, the moment you walked in, you knew you were in a bonafide bakery: the smell was intoxicating. The ladies were extremely friendly and attentive. The donuts in the casing were absolutely beautiful as were the king cakes and the glazed donuts were really soft and tasty, so that's a plus. However, those stuffed sausage and cheesy things....no,no,no,no,no,no,no (FLAVA-LESS). Ya know, it's really hard not to get good flavor from pork. I mean, it's used as a seasoning in many dishes so, I'm confused. Also, the cheese didn't melt thoroughly as there was a huge chunk of white cheese sticking out on one side and the other side had sausage and egg. Just curious as to why they're on separate sides of the bun and not conjoined in the middle? Asking for a friend lol. I'm only traveling through and 3 stars are generous IMO. I wish you all much success!
