Located in downtown Deridder, it's in a quaint shopping district all decked out for the holidays. We were warmly greeted when we arrived. Roomy and clean, with lots of spaces to get comfy. All three of us ordered the "Sweet Bourbon Buzz" (vanilla, maple spice, bourbon caramel, and espresso). The lovely barista had them ready in a flash. Oh my goodness, that was a fabulous drink. Just the right temp, and you could taste every flavor in that drink, not overpowering but all complimentary. So delicious. One of my daughters who lives here and comes here frequently, said that is the way so many of their coffees are. I cannot wait to return! (FYI, they also serve ice cream!)

Of course I chose somewhere that I felt was the best Alexandria has to offer in an atmosphere where he could enjoy a beverage and have plenty of space and privacy to relax and unwind (he is the first boyfriend I ever took to meet my parents so the pressure was real!) This shop is located in downtown Alexandria with super quirky decor, lots of seating, and several book and game options to pass the time! I also loved the hidden notes in the bookcase that gave book recommendations. I have tried several of their drinks here throughout the years. Most recently I tried one of their seasonal drinks, the reindeer chow but asked them to hold the chow to make it a cookie butter latte with oat milk (wasn't really in the mood for a chocolatey cereal chow meal in my drink but loved the concept)! I also ordered the avocado toast. The latte was perfectly balanced, yet rich and delicious! It was also served at the perfect drinkable temp. The avocado toast was THICK and the avocado and egg topping seemed fresh. It was very filling and a nice dose of healthy protein after all the holiday indulgence! I will ALWAYS come back to this coffee shop when I'm in town especially since it holds a precious memory for me. Also, Check out the background of this shop on their website, such a beautiful dedication!

We need more family-owned spots like this one! Don't drive by thinking it's just a cute coffee shop -- there's legit good food coming out of that kitchen. Service is drive-thru only, which honestly works perfectly for me. The kimchi cucumbers? Always a hit. Everyone puts their own spin on them, but these taste like the real deal. The rice was perfectly cooked, and the potatoes were amazing (but seriously... why only two tiny pieces?!). The bulgogi was solid -- not the best I've ever had, but it definitely put a smile on my face. Overall, this place is a gem in a town that desperately needs more spots like it.
