The experience we as a transportation company had working with Smiley Automotive Norwalk was beyond disappointing. I wish we knew who we are dealing with from the first call. The worst experience we've ever had for a long time as a transportation company. We received a call from General Manager, Jim Neuberger requiring a shipping quote for 17 vehicles afterwards referring his contact person Travis Smiley. After providing a quote from our side they agreed on the price and required the next day delivery. We've assigned the driver the same day we received a call from Jim in spite the fact that it takes us 2 days only to assign a driver. The first trailer with 8 vehicles was ready to deliver the next day after the first call, the second one with 9 vehicles were delivered the day after due to some schedule changes. All in all they received all of the 17 vehicles in excellent condition 2 days after the first call. When the driver came for the payment it turned out a contact person Travis Smiley "renegotiated" the initial price of $250 per vehicle to $175 per vehicle with the dispatch lady Val also claiming she used inappropriate language when she spoke to Mr.Smiley. The kindest dispatch (who helped us so much) from ETA Trans Inc., which transported the vehicles, (and did their job very well), claims she NEVER provided such a discount as they are not Broker and not capable to negotiate the price. Moreover, she never used any incorrect or inappropriate word towards Travis Smiley and claims he was the one that said an "F" word to the lady dispatch. The main delay was because there were 17 vehicles including pickup trucks and SUVs, so they had to reload 3 times which took 6 hours to fit the vehicles on the trailer. They moreover didn't let the driver to deliver the fist batch of cars the next day after they booked because of the newspaper they invited to shoot the video of how the driver loads off all the 17 vehicles. So the driver had to stay overnight to wait for the second truck to come, which caused a huge delay for his future deliveries. After all, both Jim Neuberger and Travis Smiley refuse to somehow resolve this issue continuing to hang up our phone calls. They are unprofessional, rude, disrespectful, a terrible company to deal with.
It looks like Jim and Travis are scamming companies behind the owners back. Even though Jim is a GM at this dealership, he is acting like he is in kindergarten and refuses to even talk about the issue transferring phone calls to the reception lady (who is a pleasure to talk with and it looks like she's the only person trying to help us).
We want the delivery to be paid in full as we agreed with Travis Smiley and Jim, we hope that Jim the General Manager will have the guts to pick up the phone because a man should stand by his words. read more
