He has now been waiting approximately seven months for his dentures. During this time, he has repeatedly contacted the office seeking answers and resolution, only to receive delays, conflicting information, and what feels like a constant runaround. He is now being told that yet another appointment needs to be scheduled for September. Seven months without a resolution is unacceptable. What makes this situation even more serious is the effect it has had on his daily life. According to him, he has lost approximately 30 pounds while going without his teeth, and the prolonged situation is affecting his ability to eat properly and his overall well-being. This is no longer simply an inconvenience. It is a matter that deserves immediate attention. Communication with this office has also been extremely frustrating. We have repeatedly encountered situations where staff members appear to have different information regarding his case, making it incredibly difficult to determine what is actually happening or when his dentures will finally be completed. We have maintained receipts, phone numbers, dates, records, and recordings of communications related to this situation. We are asking the practice to review his case immediately, provide a clear explanation for the seven-month delay, and establish a firm and reasonable timeline for completing his dentures. If this matter is not appropriately addressed, we are prepared to pursue the available formal complaint channels, including contacting the appropriate dental regulatory authorities, his insurance provider, and other relevant organizations. We are also prepared to share our documented experience with consumer advocates and media outlets if necessary. This review is not being written lightly. After seven months, patience has been exhausted. A patient should not have to repeatedly chase a healthcare provider for answers while continuing to suffer the consequences of unresolved dental care. Appointments take forever. Your scheduled for 12:00 you come 15 mins early fill out paper work and are successfully checked in at. 12 just to wait 30-45 mins. People have things to do people schedule appointments for a specific time for a reason. There's no reason a tightening for braces should take more then an hour just waiting. And the staff are rude about it like it's your fault you don't want to wait 45 mins to be seen for an appointment that was scheduled for a specific time. read more

Stay away from them. I honestly felt like I was going to die in that chair. They kept giving me more anesthesia until my entire mouth went numb, even my tongue. I kept telling them over and over, "I can't breathe." I couldn't swallow, I couldn't feel my tongue, and I felt like I was choking. Instead of calling an ambulance, they acted like it was nothing. One of them brought me some sugar liquid, another started putting cold water on my forehead and hands, like that was going to save me. I was panicking. My heart was racing, my body felt cold, and I truly thought I was about to pass out or suffocate. The scariest part is that they were more focused on finishing the filling than on the fact that I couldn't breathe. I felt trapped in that chair. Then, after all that, one of them told me I had to leave because they had another customer waiting. That experience traumatized me. I've never felt fear like that in my life. Now I have real phobia from dentists. Just thinking about going to another dental office makes my heart race again. I don't trust them anymore. Horrible practice. Cancels appointments with no notice. Stopped taking our insurance with no notice then sent a bill to the wrong individual with my daughter's personal information on it. That's a HIPPA violation! Then when I attempted to transfer records to a new provider, it was a huge hassle. This is an unfortunate situation since many families need pediatric dentistry in this area but I'd find another option and stay far away from this office. read more

if I could give this place a negative rating I would I have been trying to get my daughter an oral surgery she needs to continue on with her orthodontist care. I had the consultation over 6 months ago and they rescheduled 3 times now it's a special procedure that can only be done on Thursday mornings so the first time they scheduled it after the consultation they claimed they never scheduled it even know I was standing right there at the desk and they went over the discharge instructions 2 days before I never got a call to verify the appointment so I called them and they said they never scheduled it then the 2nd time when I got there they said they over booked and couldn't see us then I called again and asked to speak to a manager and they refused to talk to me and promised me that if I scheduled it again they will see even know I even asked are you sure because it's a special appointment that can only be done on thursdays they said it didn't matter because of all the times it did not work out they said they would do it anyway I was suppose to go tomorrow for her appointment and I got a voicemail saying they can't do it again because it's not a Thursday even know they promised me no matter what I would be seen . I have never seen this kind of care or lack of even know I paid them money out of pocket for a special x ray she needed just to get the procedure done . the fact that the manager refused to talked to me speaks a lot, that they don't care what you think about their practice . good luck to anyone who deals with them . read more

I waited for an hour and 40 minutes with 3 kids in an over crowded waiting room. Ended up walking out. Absolutely ridiculous! This is the 2nd time and there won't be a 3rd! To add to it, the parking is ridiculous as well. The spaces are super close apart, and you can barely get in and out of your car and if you can't find parking inside the tight , small, parking lot, you have to find it on the streets nearby. read more

It's been 10 weeks since I started the process to get new dentures. The office staff are very professional. The dentist a young woman is the absolute worst I have ever met. First they lost my dentures, oh then they found them you made an appointment to go in and they did not fit they hurt I was biting my cheek and tongue on the left side. But she the dentist didn't want to hear it I had to adjust to them there is no adjusting to something that has more teeth on the left hand side than the right they don't meet I had such an overbite I don't even believe they were for me. This is not my first pair of dentures so now how they fit. But this dentist I wish I even knew her name not even sympathetic that they didn't fit empathetic I'm sorry ma'am we will get them taken care of no it was my fault they didn't fit and I was supposed to wear them as is. They are unbelievable! They are dicking me around and i called to have bad tooth pulled so saw dentist n he was leaving on vacation so made me wait a whole month and 15 days n still not pulled! I been in alot of pain too! But what pissed me off was i scheduled to then get all my teeth pulled since i had to wait may as well just do it all at once, which then i didn't hear anything about the approval from my insurance company so i called they said to call dentist n have them call insurance company to get it approved for today ! Well this was a week ago i called dentist and spoke to the person in charge that day she said everything was approved and ready for today ! Well, yesterday they apparently called left message on my phone voice mail but i couldn't understand the girl she spoke way to fast and not at all clear, then this morning before my appointment this afternoon i got another call by them and girl left message where couldn't hear what she was saying but i caught smiles for keep so figured id better call cuz am supposed to have all my teeth pulled at noon today ! I called first call i was put on hold and eventually hung up on n i called back and this time i was told they canceled my appointment at noon and apparently they gave the 130 one they scheduled for me to some one else n mine is at 230 to see the oral surgon which means my teeth aren't getting pulled today and they lied a week ago to me when i called to ask if it was all really n then i was told they have to pull my bad tooth first which is bullshit they all can be done at once ! Im so mad ive been waiting for this day for almost two damn months n everything at home was in order to have me get it done only to find out a few hours before my appointment its not happening! My son's braces have broken four times now. The first orthodontist said that they use a cheap wire and that they get more returns than any office in the area. The second orthodontist tried to convince us that it is normal for braces to break every month and that they break less the more they put it on. Problem with this is I know many people that have had braces and this is never happened before. every time they fix the wire my son's in pain again. Transferred from Dr Mcguires office. Never had any issues. Wait time was always minimal. Very few people in the waiting room. Always given preventative care and preventative consultations. Now, all of a sudden at this new practice, " wow your children all have beautiful teeth everything is perfect" Next day half my childs tooth falls out while she's eating lunch at school. THE VERY NEXT DAY. This actually happened twice after seeing the dentist. My other child's teeth are as yellow as corn due to not brushing consistently but every time we go in, "beautiful teeth nothing wrong". When I asked how are they beautiful with that color, I was told "that's normal, everyone's teeth are that color". I have two insurances but I get a bill for $400 dollars and see charges for tobacco consultations for my children. That never happened. The bill has so many extra charges never discussed with me. Today was my first time taking my daughter ( at the Tilghman st office in Allentown ) I was waiting for an hour. Sitting right in front of the front desk lady, whom I just told when I got there that I finished filling out the new patient paperwork . I finally get up and tell her my daughter's apt was at 10 it's 10:47 . She looks confused , and tells me I never checked in . When I told her(45 mins prior) I finished the paperwork already . I went to the Allentown office where my daughter had her consultation and we scheduled her appointment for today. We have waited since September (that's when the appointment has been scheduled from) | have been on the phone every two weeks questioning what it will cost me so I had enough money the day of the procedure, and told them the impacted teeth have to go through my medical first and then dental. (That was a headache with this office) I continued and kept her appointment since my kids again use the Bartonsville office and never once an issue. I was told before the new year that the oral surgeon left due to his personal health issues and there was a new doctor. I questioned if my daughter would need a new consultation since it's a new doctor to make sure we did everything we had appointment. They insured me since already had her consultation, She was fine and good to go. I said ARE YOU SURE?!?! They ensured me. So regarding the cost of everything I stopped bothering them and figured whatever it's going to cost I'll figure it out since I got nowhere. Yesterday at 5:02pm l received a message "Good evening this is Angela calling from Smiles for keeps trying to talk with a parent of Bryannah and she had an oral surgery appointment on 1/28 we need a consultation for oral surgery and to get her insurance, you can please give us a call back 484-214-7700 to assure you received a message message as well as rescheduled thank you and have a great day." I immediately called back for it to go to voicemail and no one there to help me with my issue of them canceling my daughters surgery appointment for today the night before and after office hours to talk to someone. Like whaaaat!!!!! I don't know how that's ok under any situation, but especially when this has been scheduled since September and all of this was asked from me. I have spoken to a few different girls at the office one was Cheyenne. Again, they have told me numerous times we were good with the appointment and a new consultation wasn't needed. so wondering what changed from me calling with them from September to the night before my daughters appointment and after hours. It's almost like they purposely waited until the office would be closed to leave this message so then once I called they wouldn't be there to listen to me complain or care to help solve the problem. Please stay away from this place....they have lost my paper work ....lost my referrals.....almost every single appointment I waste $50 to get there just to find out that they keep booking me on days the doctors are not even in the office and will not compensate the clients who aren't so privileged to travel back and forth because they can't get it right.....they added an extra 6 months in just mistakes and made me wait 2 months in between because they couldn't find any of my stuff...my last appointment was July 24th where they messed up again and scheduled me for the very next day even tho I asked them 3 times on the phone before I got there if they were absolutely sure that I was good to come in on a Thursday when apparently they only have doctors in on fridays.... To come in on the 25th and realize that they put me in the room were some lady was supposed to be sedated and all my stuff was with someone else so we all had to wait until they got there shit show together in order to be taken care of properly..... They will not take any accountability...the supervisor never shows face to resolve the problem cause she always in her office to busy eating to do her job. I asked for her at 9am another time at 11am another time at 2pm and another time almost at closing never once did she take accountability or fix anything......and the receptionist will change the information while they are blaming you for their fuck ups so they can cover their own asses ..... One thing they didn't mess. up was charging me for the procedure to the point where if I try to go somewhere else it will be almost another year before I see any kind of results if they don't make me pay out of pocket because this is a procedure that the insurance only covers once! And with the way they have messed up every single appointment I have a feeling I'm going to walk out of there to slice my wrist cause if they think I'm going to live the rest of my life looking like this after they promised I wouldn't have to they got something else coming to them ... I hate to even give this "Dr" one star. He is the lowest of lows. He'll tell you so much is wrong with yours to rack up the bill. When in reality your child is fine. My son had a spacer placed in his mouth in 2021. In summer of 2022 it fell out by him eating a sandwich. We took him to the dentist Eugene McGuire and he looked us in the face and said "why is this even in his mouth?" So he never needed!!! THEN in November of 2023 we go for our usual 6 months checkup and he says "where is his spacer? He needs it in" so right away he gets the employees to schedule us to put my son to sleep again. I said absolutely no. I felt like something was off. So I got a second opinion. And turns out he never needed this spacer. So my son went through unnecessary medical procedures. Stay away... was referred by my dentist after a check up to get my daughters cavity filled. They verified insurance we proceed to wait 3 weeks for the initial visit, then after our visit a treatment plan was made and I get a call only a few days before she was scheduled to get her fillings (all the while she was complaining of pain) they called and said sorry we don't take your insurance and you have to pay out of pocket. Excessive wait, bullying practices, and an overall horrible experience. We transferred from McGuire's office and had one visit at the new Allentown location and will never be returning. The wait was over an hour. None of our insurance or personal information transferred from one office or another. Our kids went from zero issues with their teeth to requiring 3 crowns and 1 filling with sedation. Interesting that with the new corporate structure that our children require two procedures that have limited coverage options through insurance. I'm sure there's a convenient payment plan ready and waiting for us. And most egregiously, our children were separated from me for over 15 minutes a piece to get X-rays. I was not allowed to leave the waiting room to accompany them and my youngest is 5. When I asked where my youngest son was, they literally had to search the office to find him because nobody knew where he could be. Apparently the state of the art X-ray was malfunctioning and that's why they were taking so long, but nobody thought to let me know where in the building they took the kids or why the process was taking so long. I was referred here by my regular pediatric dentist because my 6-year old needed some extensive work done and could not tolerate regular dentistry- she needed sedation. The first thing that the hygienist said to me was "So...why exactly are you here?" Ummm because I was referred for a consult and I have an appointment? That set a bad tone for the whole visit. Dr. Eugene Maguire then proceeded to throw my regular dentist (who referred us to him!!) under the bus for even suggesting that she could have tolerated regular dentistry or even oral sedation with how "anxious" she was. Turns out she just really got a bad vibe too! He went off on several tangents about insurance companies and told us we needed general anesthesia despite me telling him my medical wouldn't cover it. He kept trying to scare the crap out of me with how "severe" her situation was but then couldn't get her scheduled for over two months out. I ended up taking my daughter to a pediatric dentist I know in Philly who completed ALL of her dental work (3 crowns, a molar extraction and 2 fillings) in one orally sedated visit and despite such a lengthy and difficult visit she left with a smile on her face totally willing to go back. I never once received a bill or phone call regarding billing from this office since my appointment in September and I just received a FINAL COLLECTION notice for $64. They claim that over 6 different bills were sent out, a warning letter, etc. not ONCE did I receive one. And now my credit will take a hit because of their complete and utter ineptitude! We had our FIRST appointment here last week. Two of our three children had appointments. Upon seeing all three children in the waiting room the Hygienist said to my wife "You don't have someone to watch them?" Once they went in we were told that our 6 year old had 6 cavities. The Hygienist scolded my wife for giving her "sugary drinks". My wife told her that she has Apple Juice for breakfast, water for snacks and milk for lunch and dinner. She proceeded to scold my wife at least 4 more times through the visit about sugary drinks. She also said to stay away from sugary cereal, my wife told her she only eats Cheerios. As if this wasn't enough as it was for the visit, the last thing she said to my wife was "Next time you come in, you need a babysitter for the other kids". This woman was EXTREMELY rude the whole time. Upon talking about this with friends, we found out similar experiences across the board. One friend was called to confirm her appointment in two days, she had literally just lost her father to cancer. She said she may have to cancel because of her father's death, the woman on the phone said "Well you have to let us know right away because other people want that appointment time", she said "Did you hear what I just said? I just lost my father, I need to figure it out", the woman replied "YES, I heard what you said BUT other people want that appointment time". Another friend told us that her experience was very similar to ours and others she have heard from all say that EVERY SINGLE TIME they visit, they are told their kids have cavities. It really seems like an excuse to make money for procedures. In their policy, it says that your first time offense of missing an appointment is automatic forfeiture of all services and you must find another dentist. Who the hell are these people? All of their actions and literature point to a value of service/revenue over their clientele. As a followup, we went back to our original dentist who is "out of network", paying more just for a second opinion and we were told that those "6" cavities are actually "2" and under less harsh circumstances....plus the helpers in the office went out of their way to play with the other two kids for no reason at all. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. This is the FIRST Google Review I have ever filled out because my anger over this HORRIBLE dentist drove me that crazy. I can't recommend enough to NOT go to this establishment and I HIGHLY recommend to the McGuire father and son dentists to fire that wretched woman as fast as possible. read more

Experience shines through at this office. My children are always able to get in and out as scheduled and their smiles are beautiful in huge part thanks to Dr. McGuire and his son. I found Dr. McGuire's office when my regular pediatric dentist moved. Him and the staff are extremely kind. They are always prepared and sensitive to all children's anxiety. There are clear Covid prevention measures set-up. My kids leave happy every time and it's not for a lack work needed. Whether you need a check-up and cleaning or more such as dental surgery I highly recommend him. I had to add to my review after reading the other two. OMG Common sense has gone out the window, maybe they haven't been to a dentist. It is common practice for dentist and doctors alike to have a cancelation policy in place. It's also common for any doctor to verify the reason for your visit. All "good" dentist in my opinion educate you. It is a fact that the diet described has a high sugar content that would contribute to causing decay. As a preventive measure a dentist and or hygienist should and would discuss eating habits and brushing habits (that's their job). That's why the smaller they are the more it falls on mom & dad. If those things are your problems good luck finding a dentist you "like". I've never had a problem with billing personally and have used his services for years. read more
