Worst experience with so-called medical "professionals" I ever had in my entire life. I came in for care with after waiting months to have my emergency surgery. Does anyone know what a medical emergency is/ Anyway,in intense pain i went to front desk barely able to stand. I began to fill out the paperwork and i hadnt even finished before the ghetto Allentown attitude came out of the staff. They seemed to be annoyed I would even have the audacity to seek medical treatment even though i was referred there by a dentist. The attitude and rudeness and hostility towards a patient in an extremely vulnerable state -- that is intense debilitating pain -- was astounding and next the nurse was giving me attitude for not knowing exactly what procedure i was having done as if i have the paperwork or a degree in dentistry which i do not. The nurse set me in the X ray and vanished. Never even gave complete instructions and was mad i couldnt be still while in intense nerve pain shooting through my jaw and skull. The machince hit me at spun around bc i had no idea where she went or that she was beginning the X ray. After I realized the nurse or whatever her position is did not seem to be interested in my well-being i requested a different nurse. They all seemed so offended that I did not have my wits about from the pain and was not sufficiently polite for their liking when I first entered and they seemed to have a personal vendetta against me bc i was not sufficiently polite enough while in a medical emergency. More surprising than the general staff's rudeness was that after being denied my request to speak to someone regarding this unprofessional and uncharitable care that most have come to expect from medical professionals, even the doctor seemed more interested in lecturing me in politeness and blaming me for the rudeness of the staff. He started bickering and arguing me over it! I couldnt believe it. he said something like'not in my house!" Talk about an ego trip. I just wanted the procedure to take the pain away. But at SmileKrafters they say the patient comes first but apparently that is not the case. the doctor then said they dont take my insurance and i would have to go under general anasthesia to which i replied honestly which is my right as a patient that i honestly dont feel entirely comfortable with that seeing how i had been treated so poorly so far. this seemed to offend him as well. That sees to be all they want to do at the office. Dentistry may happen at the office but i guess only if you are extremely polite and never have pain that keeps you from being bubbly and amicable. brought me to the front desk where instead of telling me to go home or leave, the front desk people decided to loudly gossip and lie about me from a few feet away. i asked what am supposed to do and they just kept repeating that i was rude. Absolutely shocked but not also not surprised bc they seem to have crazy egos and they know there is little accountability. They will continue to treat patients as peasants beneath them Iam sure of it. Avoid this place (if you can). They didnt even ask me to leave as i waited at the front desk for directions. they staff started scolding me and told me they would call the police if i didnt leave when i was literally listening to the doctor when he said go to the front desk. God forbid they do any sort of dentistry at the dental office. Dealing with this place is like pulling teeth, something they refuse to do to anyone they deem "rude". read more

This place use to be legit they make you wait so long. My appointment was at 1pm and I didn't see the dentist until about three. Smile krafters use to have it together so much of a young crowd work there and really dont speak English fluently alot of playing and joking around. People were just coming in and going ahead of me. This is the worst dentist i have ever been to it should be shut down. SmileKrafters was never like this. Maybe its good for the kids because they have another side to the place. But for the adults forget about it. I should have listened to my daughter in shouldn't have went there. The billing office and insurance person have no clue of what they're doing. They will charge you upfront despite your insurance coverage. It took them three months to finally file the claim to the insurance under my persistent phone calls over these months. They will double charge your insurance companies if you have more than one insurances. Even if there is an overpayment on your account, they still refuse to refund your initial payment. They are not professional and not efficient; don't know their job at all. The office itself is crowded and chaotic. Long wait time and constant rescheduling. Do not recommend. read more

Strike 1: Original appointment proponed till yesterday. Strike 2: Asked for information at front Desk and then gave me redundant and unnecessary paperwork to fill out. 8 pages Strike 3: I was 10-15 minutes early and you keep me waiting 30 additional minutes in WR Strike 4: I was led to a room and told I needed X rays. I was just in 2 months ago and had full X rays. You make me fill out a ton of paper work but don't even look at you own notes and dates. I'm guessing that is about billing. Strike 5: I told the young lady about the x rays and was left to wait in the chair for an additional 20 minutes. Strike 6: The TV was on with Music that was not to my taste with no control over volume or choice. Completely nerve racking and unrelaxing especially when left to wait with not information. Strike 7: I over heard a conversation with a supervisor and some workers about going over a ten hour overtime limit, we are not make our numbers and have to tighten the belt, and crap about teambuilding. I saw 4 people at the desk, about 6 people in surgical garb walking around. and I'm waiting an hour for care. Infuriating and seems to me a complete failure of the model. Strike 8: Your hygienist informs me that she is the only one on today. Another complete breakdown of organization. Strike 9: The hygienist proceeds to recline me back so far that my back starts reeling in pain. (I had a severe back injury less than 2 years ago). When I protest the hygienist tells me, (I paraphrase). "She is not going to hurt her back cleaning my teeth." Then I said well I guess you not going to clean my teeth today and I got myself out of the Iron Maiden chair she has me in and walked out of the office. Smile Crafters. You did nothing to craft my Smile. You made me feel like medical waste not a patient under you care or a customer. I have opened a complaint with United Health Care and I demanded that they not pay you for your abuse. My 30 yr old daughter needed extensive oral surgery and a full set of dentures to follow. It span a period of 5 months to complete her care. We needed to be patient and had 1.5 hr drive to the office. Everyone from the front desk to the providers made us feel welcome and had much empathy for my daughter and myself as they could see the strain on me. Special mention would be Dr. Alberto in Oral Surg and Claudina at desk supervision. Also Dr. Eli who created her dentures. These 3 along with the assistants who greet you and bring you to the rooms could not have been nicer and more professional. They always put us at ease and took an interest in our dental journey. read more

This is one of the worse dentist offices i have ever seen. The dentist burned the inside of my daughters mouth during a procedure and tore the right side of her mouth. We arrived at our appointment on time, and sat in the lobby for over an hour. As soon as this service is completed we will be having our services completed elsewhere. Even though I had made an appointment a week in advance, a day before my scheduled appointment, I received a phone call stating that my appointment had been moved back by 2 hours. When I finally went for a consultation for an extraction, the waiting room was so packed, I was lucky to find a place to sit. I spent around 45 min. in the waiting room before I was finally taken for x rays. Then I was left to wait for a dentist in the exam room for over 1 1/2 hours! I finally had to get the attention of someone walking down the hall to ask if I had been forgotten. I was told the dentist would be right with me. I spent a total of 3 hours there. Very unprofessional. The day of the extraction, I discovered that there was no place to put my coat and purse, yet they have signs everywhere stating personal belongings are not allowed to be brought in the room where the extraction takes place and they are not responsible for stolen items! Just before the dentist proceeded with the extraction, i was told that my insurance didn't cover a bone graft (I had told them ahead of time I did not want this) and my insurance also didn't cover anesthesia. I asked the cost of the anesthesia and was shocked to be informed it would be around $250! When I told them i couldn't afford that, I'm a senior on a fixed income, the dentist quoted a reduced (yet still expensive) fee and left for a few minutes. One of the assistants told me they would take cash now. When I informed them I didn't' carry that kind of cash with me, they said they would accept plastic. I told them I wasn't prepared to pay and they said they'd bill me. While the extraction wasn't as painful as expected, the dentist didn't even bother to speak to me upon leaving. I was presented with instructions and 4 prescriptions. I didn't fill one prescription as I felt it was not necessary. Finally the dentist that performed the extraction was not the same dentist that did the consultation. There's no way i'll ever retutn here again for any dental work. read more

If I could give them a negative 10 ... The front office staff was rude at both consultation and day of procedure. I arrived to have a back tooth extracted. Was called in and hooked up to monitors sitting in that dental chair for and hour and 38 mins before the procedure finally got started. I informed 2 staff I already have TMJ so surgeon needs to be careful how wide my mouth is opened or it will drop and lock. Woke up and felt weird but was still groggy. A few hours later called and told them my jaw was locked off to the side and couldn't close my mouth and they rudely replied dr has already left so you'll have to wait until Monday. Excruciating pain and swelling and could not wait 4 days to be looked at. Went to ER and had CT scan which showed my jaw was dislocated. After a shot of toradol for pain and 2 shots if Valium to relax the muscles, the ER dr put my jaw back in place and now I have to see a specialist. How can an oral surgeon not notice he dislocated your jaw and just move on to the next patient. HORRIBLE!!!! read more

This office has been a nightmare. I cracked a crown and went in for a consult. The dentist was very late and dismissive. I tried to book my follow up to actually fix the crown and they said they would call me the next day after getting a preauth from insurance. That was in March. I have been calling weekly, and now daily to get this fixed. Every day they say the office manager isn't in but she will call me as soon as she gets in. The answering service doesn't really know what's going on and it's almost impossible to get put through to the office. I've found another dentist and I would suggest anyone looking do the same. read more

I had oral surgery and the nurse was on top of it the day before. She gave me a call, she was very sweet filled me in with whatever I needed to know. Also answered all my questions and put me at ease. Morning of appointment went smoothly. Now home recovering with all my scripts filled. I went here on Monday to get all four wisdom teeth extracted because it was the closest place that take my insurance and not only did they give me three anxiety attacks before I even went under, but I was sitting in the waiting room for over an hour, watching people drink and eat food, which should not even be allowed since half of people who are there are required to fast. Then after my surgery, they woke me up and before I was even able to feel my feet, they pushed me out of the door and IN A WHEELCHAIR BECAUSE THEY DIDNT WANNA WAIT FOR ME TO FULLY WAKE UP! when I asked them if they had ice, they said no we don't carry that. All they did was give me my scripts and pushed us out the door. So I was screaming and crying in pain for two hours until I could get pain meds in my system. They gave me NO AFTER CARE PAPER OR DIRECTIONS ON WHAT TO DO OR EXPECT! All they said is that I don't have to come back for a postop appointment. WHICH MAKES NO SENSE! Thank God my grandmother used to be a dentist before she retired because I did not know what to do. I had to ask her what to do so I didn't get dry socket. This place is horrible. The one Spanish lady at the front desk is so disrespectful getting smart with people for no reason and they're openly disrespectful to the patients. Pretty much just rushed through my surgery. They also let half naked 12-year-olds run in and out of the office with a group of friends with no parents. They made my boyfriend sit and wait for me and surgery for about three hours and he couldn't even leave to go to the bathroom. I'm currently day three postop and I still can't open my mouth to even brush my teeth I was going to go back to get my braces but I will go somewhere else. I don't care how far it is. I had a an appointment at 4:30 for both of my children. Called over 3 times over 15 minutes to say I was running late. Got off work early. It was raining all day and horrible traffic everywhere. I called back two days in a row to be told by someone who doesn't work in the office ( outsource calls) that they ll leave a email to the "office coordinator " because she is the only one who schedules . Worst experience ever! I have been going to this office for several years and had always felt their scheduling was difficult, but I had not had any issue with their service until now. For several months, I had been scheduled to have 2 teeth extracted and have a bridge put in. I was extremely anxious about this procedure and just wanted it to be over. In preparations of the recovery time that would be needed, I scheduled several days off work and cleared my calendar. On the day of my procedure, I was given 5 shots of novocain to numb my mouth in preparation of the extraction. It was only then that it was discovered that apparently someone forgot to get pre-approval from my insurance company for the procedure. I was advised that they could not continue with the procedure and I would have to come back in a few weeks. Angry as hell and not wanting to come back and endure the excruciatingly painful shots again, I felt that the office should continue with the procedure and they should take the risk of getting denied by my insurance. After all, this was their mistake. They told me there was nothing that they could or would do. They would not take the financial risk without having authorization from the insurance. Even through the office manager knew of this mistake and how angry I was, she chose to leave the office rather than deal with this mistake. When we got to the lobby, the elevator was broken and I had to walk him down three flights of stairs. I had to have most of my teeth surgically removed at once, so that I could eventually get some dentures instead. The procedure went okay, all things considered. But the aftercare was horrible! When we went to get my post-op prescriptions filled, the pharmacist refused to give me the prescribed pain medication. He said that the prescription was not written on the required "tamper proof" paper, so by law he could not dispense me my medication. He attempted to call the Smile Krafters office, but no one would answer the phone. So I had to go home without any pain meds. I had over 20 teeth pulled, and no pain meds!! I can't even begin to describe how much pain I was in. I made AT LEAST 15 phone calls to the office phone number I was given when my surgery was performed, but all I got was voicemail. The day after my surgery, I finally got on Google, and found an alternate phone number to call, and explained my situation, this person assured me I would be contacted that same day. But I wasn't... I called this phone number again the following morning, literally sobbing with the pain, & this person actually did what they said they would, and contacted the location that performed my surgery, and explained my situation. They finally called me back much later in the day, & they finally called in my prescription for the pain medication I was supposed to receive 48 hours prior. I received no apologies. In fact, the person I spoke to didn't even seen the least bit concerned about my situation, or the fact that I'd been in complete agonizing pain for 2 entire days without any sort of pain relief. What kind of business performs major oral surgery, then refuses to return 15 phone calls from a patient in distress?? It's completely unacceptable, irresponsible, and UNETHICAL!! I don't know how this company stays in business with the way they totally disregard their responsibilities to their patients. I wouldn't recommend Smile Krafters to anyone. Do not put your health & well being in their hands, because they simply do not care what happens to you afterwards... I will NOT be going back there to get my dentures, I have found another place to go to, one that actually cares about my health and well being, and treats me like a human being. read more

Took a friend here for multiple tooth extractions - he left bleeding profusely and in extreme pain AFTER he waited over 1.5 hours just to get called back for his procedure. One (1) desk person for the constant stream of people coming in + not enough seats for people is just ridiculous. The desk AND tech people are rude and vocal about being annoyed about their jobs, the patients, and the drivers - who are REQUIRED to stay, and that's when they are around! This 3rd floor business looks 'nice' but the building itself needs work as neither of the elevators we're working when we arrived, and FYI, the only operational bathrooms are on the first floor. To top off this experience, there is still a broken piece of tooth in his mangled mouth! Cannot call and talk to anyone as they never answer the phone! Hello! Just want to share some info with everyone about this business as a former employee who only dealt with their very shady behavior for a month before realizing I wanted no parts! I'm so glad I left sooner than later and didn't get too invested! And here's why!.... When I got hired the general manager who hired me never supplied me with an employee handbook! About two weeks after getting hired and still NO handbook, I proceeded to ask her for one at which point she claimed she didn't have any time to get it to me. (Mind you, it is something you only have to print out and hand to me). I asked a few times more to NO avail. The day I decided to quit, I asked one last time and she got rude with me and said "what do you need to see? Why do you need it so bad? Well, I'm super busy so it won't be today because I don't have time" .... so weird!!! Now it hits me that she is hiding something and clearly doesn't want me to have it for a particular reason. Upon getting hired at any major company, their legal team should always have an employee handbook put together to be given to any new hires by management. So this was a major red flag! In addition to this, the final straw behind me walking out and quitting was when the GM said to me that I could only take a few minutes on my break and needed to come right back. In other words, I couldn't take my entitled 30 min lunch break. We were short staffed that day but I am still entitled to my break and if you knew the work load expected to be done by the end of the day you would understand why it is so necessary to have this break. This job gave me horrible anxiety daily. It would come home with me too! I would Go to bed, mind racing, anxiety ridden, and wake up with the same thing. It was just terrible! I have a 2 year old little boy who didn't get as much of my time when we were at home in the evening time due to me being so overwhelmed. I would sit next to him as he played completely paralyzed with anxiety because of the conditions at this office, not knowing what to expect the following day, was she going to reprimand me for not getting the emails done that day?, is someone else going to call off leaving me to do the job of 4 people at this point?... I could go on.. the GM gave us instructions to NEVER give out any of our names to any patients If they asked for it. Why? That is so shady! We were to tell them that we cannot give them our name! That meant when we called to make confirmations, or when answering the phone. We had to greet the patients in a very generalized way, never stating our name, just the company name?! People would ask for the managers name on a regular basis because we always had irate patients looking to speak to a "higher up". It was incredibly awkward saying "sorry sir I'm not at liberty to give you that information". Your name?!? I can't have your name?!?! At most businesses the employees wear a name badge! was this not odd?!? Another important thing I would like to mention is the way she treated her staff. She called certain employees "incompetent" several times in front of me and others if someone did not live up to her expectations, was moving too slow getting stuff done, or did not do their job properly. Incompetent? Keep that to yourself! As general manager you never say stuff like this! Where is your professionalism?? She would regularly talk horrible about so many employees to other employees and pit people against each other. Forget about being a team! Everyone hated each other, she made huge competition Between the different departments, created a ton of animosity between all of us, making it an incredibly toxic work environment. I say all of this to say please don't ever apply or accept a position at this place! It is not in your best interest. The current staff is constantly going to interviews with other companies and trying to get out of there. The most unorganized place ever! have been promised a call back for YEARS. am due a refund that was never used and was told if insurance paid for service it would i would get refund. insurance agreed to pay and did pay however procedure was never done so they have both my deposit and insurance. front desk at times have been rude, i have never been with them, and unhelpful. always told manager will call me but never a call. what is wrong with your office???? read more

I would not recomend going here, ever. It is clear that the departments dont communicate with eachother, in fact I had to physically give them eachothers phone numbers because they were not aware they could even call one another! It tool 6 months for my insurance to communicate effectively with smile krafters, and with no help from the dental office. After 9 months I was finally given an appointment for a cosultation in which my up coming procedure was not even discussed. The oral surgeon kept talking about a procdure that I would have to get a year from now. I was not prepared for my responsibilities for the day of. They made me sign paperwork saying I recieved instructions before they would even let me into my appointment but I never recieved those instructions. Apparently those instructions would have informed me as to what to do and not do the day of oral surgery. Then the day of I was treated hostily, refused service, refused communication with my oral surgeon to discuss options, and generally treated like I had done something horribly wrong. Their unproffesional handling of the situation and how condescending towards me the nurses were being was the problem, not my reaction to their treatment of me. On the day of my procedure, I let them know that I had choked on some water while brushing my teeth and i had accidentally swallowed a tiny amount. I was physically blocked from speaking with the oral surgeon, was ganged up on by 3 nurses and told to leave. I was not offered to reschedule, I was not allowed to discuss options with the oral surgeon during my scheduled appointment time, and I was told to never return. I did tell the nurse that her treatment of me, after 9 months of having an infection that could spread to my brain being denied treatment, was bullshit. I called later and left a message with a manager to discuss what had happened. She called back to inform me that i was wrong for swearing... Avoid this practice at ALL costs!!!! The only good thing I could say is that they fit you in quickly. But at the expense of everyone else! I need two extractions and have extreme anxiety of the dentist, which is why I was referred to a surgeon. I called on Friday, and my appointment was made for Monday. I sat there in a packed room for over an hour. I was called back, and they took x-rays. Then they walked me around the entire building and said "Oh, sorry there's actually not any rooms available, you'll need to go back to the waiting room". When I eventually was called back, I sat in the room for over 30 minutes waiting to see the DR. There was a glove on the floor by the door, bloody gauze left in the trash can, and the entire arm of the dental seat was broken off. When the doctor finally came in, he was the only person in the entire practice to have courtesy. Although he stated he was "overbooked" and was extremely quick with me. Never even looked in my mouth, and I'm not sure he even really looked at my chart. I was given an appointment for surgery the next day and was never given any pre op instructions (e.g. not to eat the night before, don't take medications the morning of, make sure you have a driver). I arrived the next morning 15 minutes early to my appointment time, like requested. After sitting there for over an hour past my appointment time (keep in mind you can't eat or drink after midnight), I began to hear other people stating their surgery was scheduled for the exact same time as mine. There was a sign on the wall stating they only had one surgeon. I asked the front desk if they really only had one surgeon and scheduled multiple people for the same time. They were extremely rude and admitted that it was true. We found out that four other patients were scheduled for 11:00 am with the same surgeon. Their response was they would be in different rooms. So, one surgeon is going to run back and forth between five rooms and hope something doesn't go seriously wrong with one of the patients? I also heard them tell multiple patients that waited long, that they needed to leave and reschedule their appointment, because they don't accept their insurance on Tuesdays. Why were they scheduled on Tuesdays in the first place then?? During my time in the waiting room, they sent out patients that were still loopy, drooling all over themselves, with blood on their face, crying in pain, and made them stand at the front desk. How embarrassing is that for the patient and makes the other patients waiting feel even more nervous. Needless to say, I cancelled my appointment and left with fear for my safety! This practice is rude, unprofessional, dirty, unsafe, extremely impersonal, and apparently tries to commit insurance fraud. They waste your time and gas, and have you miss work for no reason!
