After having some issues with a different local oral surgeon in an attempt to get my wisdom tooth removed, he took one look at it and said "oh I can do that".......FOR 90% LESS THAN THE OTHER DOCTOR HAD QUOTED ME. There seems to be another Prairie Lakes elsewhere or a couple disgruntled patients didn't like hearing the truth. No one really wants to go to the dentist. I don't care how wonderful this dentist and his staff are (..and they ARE!) It stinks to have to pay for our poor dental hygiene choices (you know you put off a visit) or bad genes. Let's get me scheduled for a cleaning, and then we'll reschedule the procedure no problem." Then, he told me he needs to charge me for the visit when literally all he did was tell me I needed a cleaning. I politely raised the question to the staff as I was checking out. "I'm confused. Is it your policy to charge people when you did no procedure and did no cleaning? I was in the chair for approximately one minute." They explained that it was their policy. I paid the bill and left. A few days later I receive a letter from him in the mail. He asked me not to come back and he called me a liar. I was flabbergasted. I didn't agree with his practice of charging a fee for no work being done, but I was never rude to him or his staff. I will not be going back. You won't have to ask me twice. However, after the final implants were installed in the spring of 2025, things went downhill fast. Whenever we'd have a question or concern and would reach out, it would be like pulling teeth (no pun intended) to get a reply back. Fast forward to today. My wife heard a pop while eating yesterday and the bridge became loose. We go to have it checked out. They said one of her screws broke and tried their best to work on it. The dentist who worked on her couldn't do much to fix it, because he's new to implants and wanted Dr Stratman to take a look at it first. And we find out he's semi retired, be still comes in from time to time. So the receptionist reaches out to Dr Stratman to see her the next time he's there and he said he doesn't want to see her. And the other dentist doesn't feel comfortable to do it. So they refer us to a different place, but we don't know if any kind of warranty or follow up applies to that place. They pretty much left us to the wolves after we paid $30,000 for these implants. But it seems like since they have their money, they don't care at all. My wife is afraid to eat while there's a screw missing. They filled the holes with a temporary foam, but that seems pointless since they just abandoned us. So beware coming there. They'll take your money and will do the initial work. But if you had any follow up, you're S.O.L.
