Our oldest daughter went to Dr Khan & I believe she was one his first patients at the Richmond location. He was very thorough & we were very pleased with the end results. Our youngest daughter went to Dr Khan as well & we were pleased with how her teeth turned out. However, after only two years, her top retainer fell apart. We were NOT told this would, or could, happen. My husband has had his retainers for 24 years, still intact & they are similar to what our daughter has, not metal. So we expected our daughter's to hold up as well. We went into the office to see if we could get a replacement for her top retainer only but they wanted $200. That's $200 for something that falls apart within two years. Yes, I had the option of buying another set of retainers at the end of her treatment, in case she lost her first pair. But I was never told the first set could possibly fall apart. Dr Khan is a great orthodontist who does amazing work. But I believe the cost of the retainers is a rip off. To give him credit, I wasn't able to talk to him today. I was only allowed to talk to the girls up front. Maybe I would have had a different outcome had he known our situation. Overall, our experience was good. The office staff and some of the hygienists were nice. We had our child do treatment there. We did the one follow up appointment after she had her braces removed. We did have some issues but the orthodontist addressed them during the course of treatment. It's hard to compare to other orthodontists in the area since there are so many to choose from. read more

My oldest son has been a patient of Dr. Khan's for the past 3 years. In 2017, due to an abnormal growth rate of my son's mouth/teeth, our pediatric dentist recommended that we start considering orthodontics at an early age of 7. Nervous about starting orthodontic work so young, I consulted a few different orthodontists in the area, and Dr. Khan was the ONLY one that didn't rush me into making a decision to start orthodontic work immediately on my 7 year old. In fact, he suggested that we wait another year and re-evaluate after my son had another year of growth and maturity. I truly appreciated Dr. Khan's honesty with me, and he earned a new patient that day because of it. Fast forward to 2018, and after consulting with Dr. Khan, we decided to begin the process of phase 1 orthodontics. We started with an expander to widen my son's palate and then proceeded to phase 1 braces. One thing that stood out to me during the process was the way Dr. Khan respected my son as the patient. At every visit, he was sure to explain the process to both my son and me, creating a great sense of comfort and trust with my son. We kept the phase 1 braces on for about 6-12 months, and my son has been in a retainer since. He has had very little discomfort and pain from the experience, which is a miracle if you know anything about young children - and I attribute that to the amazing practice that Dr. Khan runs. As a side note, they also offer little incentives for their young patients to keep them motivated which is great (e.g. Khan coins which they collect at every visit and can redeem for toys). Dr. Khan has recommended holding off on phase 2 orthodontics until my son (now 10) has a little more skeletal growth. He is in no rush to get our money, unlike a lot of other practices in the area. He is very knowledgeable about the industry and has built my confidence throughout this entire process. Whenever we have had any issues, whether it be wires coming out during the braces phase or a retainer breaking, Dr. Khan and his staff have handled the issues with the utmost professionalism, promptness, and respect. His staff is also amazing. They are extremely responsive and accommodating. They are prompt in getting us seen, even on their busiest days the wait time is never more than 10-15 minutes. I will continue to recommend Dr. Khan time and time again whenever I see anyone looking for orthodontist recommendations. We feel very blessed to have found such a great orthodontist! read more

I love this Orthodontic office!!! From day one I was impressed with how organized they were, they went over all of the details they were very friendly including Dr. Khan. This wasn't my first rodeo with braces I have previously had braces and Invisalign. I love how everyone has been sooo welcoming and helpful for almost 2 whole years. I didn't get any rolling of the eyes or any attitude. As a high school teacher my schedule could be very hectic but they all ways had an appointment for me and I appreciate it. The days they told me I would be in pain, to be honest it only lasted for a few hours. I never had to deal with the constant breaking of brackets like I did with past Orthodontic practices. I started my orthodontics treatment in Smile Studio. Dr. Khan has professionally evaluated me. I did a couple treatments, less than 6 times. During which, the staff that assigned to help me is a young assistant. I always saw she liked to watch TV while doing my treatment. I'm pretty much sure the TV is meant to keep customers relaxed during the treatment. The assistant was very heavy-handed while dealing with my teeth. One of the teeth became so loose, I ended up visiting my family dentist, and periodontist, to make sure it would not fall off, which cost me another couple hundred bucks. On top of the $3500 charged by Dr Khan's office in less than 10 months. Due to the fear of my teeth becoming the victim of his assistants, I went to visit another Orthodontist, ended up spending another $5000 to complete the treatment. Fortunately, my treatment is smooth. In the new Orthodontist office, there's no TV, the assistant doesn't use extra forces on the teeth. The staff and Dr Kahn are amazing! I brought my youngest daughter in because she had a gap in the front of her teeth. She was very insecure about it and never wanted to smile.
