Smile DJ's completely butchered our son's wedding ceremony. It couldn't have been worse. A recap: *Matt was supposed to be our DJ and did all of the advanced planning with our son. We knew that Matt had a good reputation, but he didn't show up to our event as agreed upon, and he didn't even have the courtesy to call and let us know. *Instead, he sent a back-up, who claimed to have 20 years of experience, to perform the services. He told us they were short a person and that Matt had to cover another event. He said that Matt may still make it to our event, but we don't believe that was ever the case. *Harry showed up with not enough time to get set up or to be fully prepared for being thrust into an event at the last moment. He did meet with my son for ten minutes to quickly attempt to get up to speed, but he interrupted the pre-wedding photo session. *The ceremony: things went HORRIBLY wrong during the ceremony. Harry started calling out the names of the wedding party as they walked down the aisle. We've never seen that happen in our lifetime of attending weddings. He was so disorganized that he clearly was reading from the reception agenda, and not following the ceremony agenda. Not only that, he called out the wrong names. He also played the wrong music twice, and to make matters even worse, he started playing the exit music while the Pastor was still giving the blessing. It was a complete hatchet job to put it mildly. *As for the reception, he followed the playlist and the sound was very good. However, during his rushed set up, the photo booth, which he failed to anchor properly, blew over in the wind and suffered damage. It was unavailable for part of the reception. Harry spent way too much time working on the photo booth, which distracted him from his emcee duties at the reception. Therefore, the agenda was not followed as outlined. *When we followed up with Matt about our experience, his initial reaction was that we were wrong, and he proceeded to gaslight us. It wasn't until the following day that he realized we were 100% correct because he heard from somebody he claims that he knew that was at the wedding and witnessed it first hand. It was appalling that he basically accused us of lying. There is no way we could ever recommend anyone using Smile DJ's for their event based on our experience. We spent many months and long hours putting this together, and Smile DJ's had a significant negative impact on the proceedings. It was still a special day with many blessings, but we still can't believe how bad they messed up their role in it. We wouldn't even give one start if that was possible. read more

We feel like we won the lottery booking Smile Photo Booth for our wedding!!! Matt was absolutely amazing: he worked with us on our custom template, came out to our Portland venue, set up everything in advance, and stayed the entire evening. He was so communicative and easy to work with. He staffed the photobooth to make sure everything went smoothly which was such a comfort for a Type-A Bride as myself, and he was so professional and enjoyable to be around that I found myself talking to him just to decompress for a moment between all the craziness. So, Matt was a rockstar, but also the photobooth set up was AWESOME, and it was some of the best memories from our special day. The unlimited high quality prints were awesome wedding gifts for our guests and everyone loved it. As an even bigger bonus, we got a thumb drive with everyone's photos from the entire evening for us to enjoy for years to come, so we can live our wedding through our guests' fun memories!! Had them do my 50th birthday party. It was also 10 year anniversary of my cancer diagnosed that I successfully battled. I paid them the night of the event. I was promised a copy of all the photos. This was an incredibly important milestone for me. After 7 months, I STILL DO NOT HAVE a copy of MY PICTURES. This place is a joke. No one has even had the decency to contact me directly. I have been to MANY events that the booth and Eric were at including weddings that hired him. I LOVE, LOVE , LOVE playing in the photo booth! The pictures are very high quality, the framing is totally customizable, and getting the digital version afterward means you get to share it with people! I'm never getting married again, but if i did, i would have the photo booth there! Maybe i'll have an un-wedding just to have an excuse. read more

So we booked this booth about a month and a half ago for my Wedding on August 19, 17. I had tried contacting him multiple times in between this time frame just to check in. I called, emailed, texted. He finally got back to me 3 days before the wedding (I called again not because he was returning my call) and he assured someone would be out here for my wedding day. I had told everyone and it was supposed to be a fun thing at my wedding. 7 pm rolls around.. no photo booth. 745... no photo booth.. we called no answer then I get a text " Sorry my guy was having car problems I'll just give you a refund." Terrible business ethic. I honestly don't even think they were ever coming. Ruined a big part of my wedding! Just warning you don't waste your time with this company they make you think your coming and flake! Zero stars! I'm probably going to have to fight for my money back! read more

The bottom line of this review is that we were entirely disappointed with the DJ services provided and would strongly discourage anyone from engaging this company for an event. Our wedding was on July 13th, 2019. We booked both the DJ and photobooth services. The photobooth was great, no complaints there. The DJ however, was a complete catastrophe. We had originally spoke with Matt and booked his services in mid March. In that conversation Matt specifically mentioned that he will be the one working our event (this is important for later). Fast forward to the Wednesday before the wedding (July 10th, 2019). We had about an hour conversation, again with Matt, about all the details for the wedding. Just to highlight a few important points: - We made a detailed outline of the ceremony with highlighted spots where the DJ would need to play something and what they should play. We had also sent recordings of each of these pieces. - Our first dance was to an original composition mixed with another song. Originally, we thought Matt would simply fade between the two, but on the call it became apparent that we should provide a copy of the song with the transition built in (which we promised to do and did). - We requested 3 non typical songs: a german song, where we specifically mentioned the name of the song and the artist, and two traditional jewish songs where we sent YouTube links to Matt. Matt said he has many sources and will find versions of all of these. - The ceremony was planned for 4pm and Matt, on his own, asked if showing up at 1pm would be ok. So what happens on the day of the wedding: - Around 1:45pm I call Matt to ask what's going on. His response is "Yup, I'm just running a little late, should be there in a bit" (Please notice the emphasis on the first person pronoun) - Around 2pm Jay shows up. Who is Jay you ask? Good question! Apparently Jay is "a friend of Matt's" (Jay's words exactly). Matt has other events and will be stopping by later (by the way, Matt never came to our event). - Jay didn't have any of the detailed instructions we sent Matt. Instead he had some disorganized notes that we had to carefully look through and correct. This means that as guests were already starting to arrive, we had to spend about a half our repeating what was discussed with Matt just 3 days earlier! - For our first dance song, Jay had the wrong song cued up. Luckily we caught this in the preparations before hand. On top of that, Jay used this recording for his sound check, although the song was supposed to be a surprise. One would expect a bit more sense from a wedding DJ. Given that though, we knew the song worked just fine on the system, yet when it actually came time for the first dance, it took Jay 3 tries to get the song playing at a volume that anybody could actually hear! - Remember those "sources" Matt talked about? The German song we requested was by the wrong artist! The two traditional jewish songs...Jay simply played the YouTube links we sent. - We had sent an additional list of songs we wished to be included by the DJ. While this list with audio files actually was on Jay's computer, he had no idea about it and we had to look through the computer with him and point it out. - We spent a fair deal of time discussing what/when the DJ should announce certain things. However, the way Jay set up the speakers, you couldn't hear anything unless you were on the dance floor...so his announcements were useless and it was left up to us. - There was about a 30 minute pause in the dancing program for dessert. During this time we had to twice tell Jay not to play our special requests during the break when nobody was around to hear them. One would think this is common sense. We don't want to be too hard on Jay, he was thrown into a shitty situation by his apparent friend. Matt's handling of this was however 100% unprofessional, disrespectful, and disingenuous. Our warning is: don't book these guys, you have no idea what you're going to get! read more

Smile Photo Booth was a great addition to our Block 15 Thursday's this summer at the ballpark. Our fans loved being able to dress up in the wacky outfits provided by Smile Photo Booth and enjoyed taking pictures with their friends and family. The Corvallis Knights will definitely invite Smile Photo Booth back next summer to Goss Stadium. We recommend Smile Photo Booth to all of our fans. It would be great to have Smile Photo Booth at events, weddings, parties, you name it! It is a lot of fun! Eric was very professional and fun to work with.
