Sara has healing hands!…read more I decided to treat myself to a massage after my school year ended and it was just what I needed. I booked a 90 minute relaxation massage and it was definitely very relaxing. If you need an amazing massage, this is your place!

Each of the massage therapists is certified to perform safe prenatal massages. They have an easy online booking system (which I appreciated). I showed up and everyone was masked (March 2022) which I was thankful for, being pregnant. They offered me a glass of water while I completed the waivers and were very friendly! (I was the first appointment of the day.) I went into the room and the therapist thoroughly explained how the whole massage would go and made sure she knew exactly what I wanted her to focus on. The table was extremely comfortable for a pregnant person :) special pillow/mat with holes to accommodate your growing body and the ability to lay on my stomach (which I've missed!) and there was no pressure anywhere on my body. Just laying on the table was worth the whole massage! Lol halfway through I rolled over and she replaced the belly mat with a large wedge, so I didn't have to lay flat. The only thing I'd suggest would be having white noise or meditation music and or candles/aroma therapy. It was very quiet, but that would've put it over the top with comfort. Seriously an amazing way to start my day and I can't wait to go back!

I debated following him…read morebecause he was amazing, but instead I decided just to look for someone else here in Indy. I came across Anthony over social media. He's located in the Stutz Building downtown, so it's close to where I live. He also had a weekend appointment available for a 60-minute massage, so I decided to give him a try based on the other reviews online. I arrived about 10 minutes prior to my appointment, which was recommended in my pre-appointment email. Anthony was downstairs in the lobby waiting on me to guide me back to his studio, which was relaxing and calming the second I walked in the door. After a quick consultation about what I wanted him to focus on and what I wanted him to avoid, he stepped out of the room and I was under the heated table in seconds. I like a little more pressure everywhere except the back of my neck, and he adjusted his pressure exactly how I wanted it. I had several knots on my shoulders and he worked them out in a way that didn't make the rest of my body tense up. I only booked a 60 minute appointment because that's what he had available, but it went by way too fast. Next time I'll book a 90 minute and will probably continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

We were prompted greeted by Tina and shown around the spa and to our lockers. In the ladies locker room area, there are showers, a sauna, and a steam room. We got there early so we could enjoy the pool and other amenities. Unfortunately, when we arrived there were hotel guests in the pool, including children. That's not all that conducive to relaxing unfortunately so we didn't get in the water at all. Tina also helped us order a lovely lunch from Capitol Grill and took overall very good care of us while we relaxed and waited for our spa appointments. The services: Both of us had nice services but honestly both felt we had had better for various reasons. My esthetician was good and did a very nice job but I had added on a leg scrub. The leg scrub was great but it came At the sacrifice of the hand and wrist massage you might typically get. My friend's service was good but was slow to start and the provider had some clumsiness issues and dropped items on the floor creating loud noises. The only thing that was really "bad" was the temperature of the atrium area/pool and hot tub area. It was HOT in there. It was so warm in there that we just couldn't force ourselves in the hot tub or the sauna/steam room. Tips: 1. there is street parking, which is free on Sundays 2. When you walk in, go closer to the check in desk to the second set of elevators and the spa is on the 6th floor 3. There is cold water and some cold towels in the Gym on the same floor.

They also vary in timing, you can pay for 90 mins and some therapists will get done in 80, others 85, but never the full reserved time in my experience. Im not very outspoken so it sucks when you're paying $120 (not including the tip....) and leaving the place not completely happy/feeling relaxed. There are other spots in town that offer more consistent services (and for much more reasonable prices compared to here). One pro is that this establishment is more professional seeming (announce they're washing hands before/after, give you water and go over some at home exercises to do in between sessions), so not all terrible, just not worth it (imo) for the price. I've tried 4 different therapists here (in my 5 years living in Bloomington) and Tanya G seems to be their best (I never tried Amber but heard good things abut her). Lastly, this one is probably a minor "complaint" and totally not related to the therapists but in one of my last times I was there, as I was waiting to check out/pay, I overheard the front desk receptionist tell the lady in front of me "people typically tip 20%, thats what is usually acceptable" after the lady had said "ooh and tip too" and it made me feel inclined to tip over $20 on a not so great service to begin with (I used to tip $10 there). I don't love this recent culture of pressurizing customers to tip (especially when you're charging premium prices).
