That being said, Dr Zargari and his staff really get it. From the moment I walked in, they were professional, compassionate and engaged in making sure my visit was as pleasant as possible. They have made a conscious choice to no over book, which means you don't sit in the waiting room with your anxiety getting the best of you. Their treatment rooms all have large windows with pleasant views of a tropical courtyard. I waited much too long to catch up on my dental work, and they never lectured, or made me feel bad about neglecting my dental health. As other reviewers have mentioned, the dentist recommended a "deep cleaning" that is not covered by my insurance. When I explained that I only wanted the regular, insurance-covered cleaning, the dentist would not allow it to be performed. I was told that "10 out of 10 dentists" would prescribe a deep cleaning for me, even though my periodontal readings were similar to what they've been for years. Dentist I've had in Seattle, Chicago, and other cities have never recommended this to me. I've always had the standard cleaning with no issue. They also had no hygienist available, so I would have needed to schedule a second visit for a cleaning (if I agreed to do the deep cleaning). Overall, I left without being able to receive the routine cleaning that my insurance covers. I will be seeking care elsewhere.

I have never written a review this negative before--it takes a lot to get me this frustrated--but the treatment and billing here forced me to speak out. Years ago, I actually worked on the design of a computerized billing system for Delta Dental services, so I am highly familiar with dental insurance fee coding. After this visit, I thoroughly researched local standard charges. I know for a fact that the $700 total fee I was hit with was completely inappropriate. Specifically, I was charged a bit less than $300 consultation fee that makes absolutely no sense because no separate consultation ever took place. There was no evaluative discussion; the actual dental work was started immediately. Charging a steep consultation fee alongside immediate treatment is a blatant, improper overcharge. We do not have dental insurance. As retirees living on a fixed income (outside of my husband's part-time job), a $700 inflation of a bill deeply impacts us. The rest of the charge, a bit less than $400, for the actual work, was ridiculously high, but apparently standard. To make matters worse, Dr. Martinez's bedside manner was completely nonexistent, making the entire appointment highly uncomfortable. Between the complete lack of care and the deceptive billing, I cannot recommend this practice. I will definitely let my regular dentist know about this experience so they might hesitate sending patients here. The other reviews are glowing, so I am in the minority. Maybe many have dental insurance so the ite is not as painful. I cannot imagine how those with a lower income can afford this type of dental care without insurance.
