I've now had multiple negative experiences with Newburgh Dental Group and it's becoming a pattern…read more On more than one occasion a family member of mine was turned away for being just 3 to 5 minutes late. Each time the response was "let me see if the doctor will still see you," which clearly shows there is no consistency or real consideration for patients' time. What's frustrating is the double standard. Patients are expected to be perfectly on time, yet there seems to be no accountability when the office runs behind or inconveniences others. Life happens, whether it is traffic, work, or unexpected delays, and most professional offices understand that within reason. It is disappointing because this reflects a lack of respect for patients, not just a strict policy. Based on our experiences it is not surprising to see other negative reviews mentioning similar issues. I hope management takes a step back and reevaluates how they treat their patients, because good healthcare is not just about the clinical work, it is also about how people are treated.

Unlike most people I haven't had any issues or complaints yet and I have been coming to them for a year, I even got my family to come to them as I was so pleased with my first visit. Although, for my last visit they were running late and I had to wait for over 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, but they apologized about the lateness. Their offices are on the small side but modern. Everyone I have been in contact with was nice, friendly and welcoming from the front desk to the hygienist to the check out lady although this last one seems a little cranky.

The office clerk could just not get my insurance info straight and kept telling me to call the insurance myself because they were denying services that should have been covered. I ended up calling insurance myself and getting a discrepancy between what the office was telling me and what the insurance was telling me, which was that services were being submitted with the wrong code. I asked her to resubmit which she said she did but never returned my calls. As luck would have it, I ended up with a toothache last week. When I went in, that person no longer worked there, big surprise, and my claim was still outstanding so I had a balance. I asked them to resubmit to insurance. with the correct codes. Instead of realizing that there was a misunderstanding, of which I was at no fault, I was talked down to and cut short during my attempt to understand what was being denied and why. I was told that I would get a statement in the mail and when I have it in front of me, I can read it myself. How crazy is that? To add insult to injury, as Dr. Petrosino was examining me, I'm in pain and she is not sympathetic or compassionate at all and was actually sarcastic and snide with me as she tried to figure out which tooth was hurting. Needless to say, her people skills can use a refresher course and someone needs to start properly coding insurance in that office. Ridiculous. I actually wanted to like this doctor and didn't want to change dentists so I was looking for reasons to stay and saying, the next time I go or call, it will be better, but to be honest, each time I called, the interaction was worse than the last. If you're considering her, save yourself a headache and go somewhere else.

I had to stop smiling, or be very careful about how big a smile I could have. Not being able to smile fully was a problem because I am in sales, and creating good relationships with my clients is vital for business. A smile is my way to connect with people, and holding back my smile didn't feel right. Since I had my implant, I am amazed at how great it looks! Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you Dr. Petrosino!

This is our family dentist. It's a large office with several dentists, dental hygienists and other…read moredental professionals. So as you can imagine you will find all your dental needs at this office. We find that the doctors at this office do a really good job with cavities, teeth cleaning, etc. I've had another barbaric dentist from another town over leave me with a bad bite from a terrible cavity fill and this office was able to help me with correcting that. My family gets regular dental check-ups here and cleanings. The office is very large, clean, neat and even has it's own finance department to help you understand the costs that you will incur which I really like this way nothing is a surprise. They give you the option to decide if you can afford the services and/or arrange some kind of payment option. The only thing I don't like about the office is that the doctor's are always trying to up sell another service or recommending something that may not be of urgency. If they could they would probably keep us visiting them on a regular basis. Otherwise we really like this dental office and the doctors. A++

Recently moved to the area and got a coupon for a "comprehensive exam, Cleaning and X - Rays (as…read moreneeded)" for $75. When I called to schedule an appointment, I mentioned I didn't need the x-rays assuming that it wouldn't matter anyway ("as needed"). Was told that the coupon would not be honored and I would have to pay $95 for the cleaning. Oh. Okay...I schedule the appointment anyway. A day goes by. I think about it. Why would I have to pay more for doing less? I called back and explained that I didn't need the x-rays and that it didn't make sense to charge me more for doing less than what is listed on the coupon. The receptionist Lauretta insisted I would need to do the x-rays as part of the comprehensive exam. I explained again- no cavities ever, no need for X-rays. Don't want the radiation. She wouldn't budge- no x-rays no coupon...so I cancelled my appointment. Was genuinely surprised that they wouldn't want a new customer simply because I didn't want more radiation blasted at me unnecessarily. No cavities, no pain, no need. Disappointing interaction and if they're that sketchy about honoring the coupon, I wouldn't want to deal with them anyway. Go figure.
