We had just moved to North Raleigh from Knightdale. I was lazy and did not do a review of the practice. Just assumed N Raleigh was more expensive, so hired them when the cost was 30 percent ($350) higher than my former dentist, Red Flag 1. Red flag 2 was that they red flagged practically my entire mouth in the first visit. I immediately told them to not bother and I was not interested in anything else. Red Flag 3 was they used a lot of technology that makes you feel they are cutting edge. The technology was just for show as the result over the year was bad at best. Red flag 4 was they continued to talk about repairing everything in my mouth at each visit after I told them I was not interested. My former dentist told me everything was fine and the issues had been there for years, but they were not a cause for concern. They don't listen. Red flag 5 was that they have rooms set aside for finance and hard sales. Really? Lastly, and the final straw, Red Flag 6 , the crown fell off fourteen months later and they charged $443 to put it back in. Not only were they $350 more to install the crown than the competition, they had the gal to charge for repairing their own faulty work. I confronted them that my other four crowns had never had any problems in twenty years. The girl at the front desk had the gal to say they were the best and the prices were fixed for all dentists. She was either dumb as a rock or a shifty salesperson. I called her a shift salesperson. I did not want to complement her by calling her dumb as a rock.

Second thing is their treatment plan. I know my teeth are not perfect, but I've been living with them my whole life and know what problems with them are. They created a plan for treatment with an estimate of more than $15,000, they included everything which didn't even bother me, and they didn't even ask me can I afford such money. They didn't ask me to prioritize it, it seemed like they just insisted on what they came up with. This is what's called the opposite to customer oriented business. Sorry, but I do not recommend this dentistry.

To which I responded "I need you not to choke me." And she was not nice, and she actually left during my appointment and someone else came in. Oh and do not schedule an appointment near lunch - as I was also told they had to "find a dentist" for me. I mean then don't schedule your clients for 11 am appointments if everyone goes to lunch at noon. Front desk snapped at me when I asked for my treatment plan too - for services they recommended and that I would pay them to perform (took a week to get it, but I am not going back). Also, the website is glitchy and they send you weird texts about forms and if you are in the parking lot. And I just called to cancel my next cleaning and she literally hung up on me.

I moved to Raleigh and was very impressed with the service at renaissance- I have had a lot of trauma at the dentist and they were very kind to me with my situation. They filled 2 or 3 cavities for me in April of 2023. I recently switched to a new dentist as I have moved again and 2 of the fillings (one that had already been repaired by renaissance once) were broken. I called Renaissance to see if they would fix the broken fillings and they said that since it has been over 2 years they will not go back and fix any of them. and again - I have NEVER had a filling break. I am wondering how many others have had this happen at renaissance. Disappointing to spend 1000s of dollars on dental care and not be able to fix mistakes made on your patient. Will not be going back.

These are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth and hold up much better than bridges/crowns. Dr. Dan is an extremely gifted dentist who's perfected dental implant procedures to the point where there is absolutely NO PAIN WHATSOEVER and so no anxiety. He's also someone who deeply cares about his patients and will take the extra time to answer all your questions and put you COMPLETELY AT EASE. I just completed a third implant recently and the whole process is completely routine for me. If you need any type of major dental work done I strongly recommend you get a consult - they are all so good at what they do. (Special shout out to Gina... take care you will be missed!).
