Sadly was expecting a better experience based on the reviews! If I could give it 2.5 stars I would. Starting off when you walk in, the overall smell of the place is not great. The staff wasn't very friendly. It would be nicer if there was privacy as you put your jumpsuit on, you're not taking your clothes off, you're just putting your jumpsuit on over it, but it was still awkward to do in front of everyone. For the smash room itself, the main downfall was the tools you used to smash the items. It would've been nicer if there was a lightweight bat. There was a crow bar, a random thin pole and a very heavy sledge hammer. The crow bar and pole made it harder to hit the items since the top of it was so small, and the sledge hammer was so heavy we didn't get much use out of it. We did get a basket of dishes that were pretty hard to break so it got frustrating trying to break them . Overall it was an alright experience, but definitely wasn't worth $100.

Receipt of transaction.

Cormorants frequently followed along our kayaks, diving for fish we stir up paddling. Large White Pelicans grouped on the huge sandbar, Ospreys dove from the sky for fish and Egrets, Pipers and more birds were plentiful. We also were shown small crabs climbing the mangroves as we explored the passages of tunnels. We would recommend this excellent guided tour.

Our private SUP tour with Captain Yak exceeded our expectations in every way. Greg, aka Captain…read moreYak, was already at the meetup spot with the paddleboards set up and in the water. I had some prior experience, but my boyfriend did not. Greg quickly gave him a tutorial on getting on the board, paddling, and standing, and within half an hour, my boyfriend was paddling like a pro! We explored the Shell Key Preserve area, benefiting from very little wind, thanks to Greg's advice on the best day to go. Along our journey, we were fortunate enough to see bonnethead sharks (harmless), horseshoe crabs, herons, osprey, and needlefish. We paddled through beautiful mangrove tunnels while learning about the various types of vegetation. A highlight of the trip was stopping at a glorious white sand beach, where we swam for half an hour. The best part was seeing all the cormorants surrounding us during our three-hour adventure! It turns out that cormorants frequently use paddleboards and kayaks to their advantage; the shadow from the SUP scares fish hiding in seagrass beds. Greg was genuine, approachable, incredibly knowledgeable, and informative--paddling with him felt like having a flora and fauna guidebook by our side. He's the kind of guy you'd want to be friends with, regardless of whether you book a tour with him. We felt safe, entertained, and had a brilliant day with him!

It is a 36-mile-long river in the northeastern corner of Manatee County and flows into the Gulf of Mexico at the southern edge of Tampa Bay. Wildlife in the river include manatees and alligators, as well as, various types of fish. Shrimp is, even, harvested from its waters. Around the Manatee River is a birder's paradise with many species of birds can be found. My favorite is the wood stork, which is listed as endangered species. A few of the birds are considered threatened such as the snowy plover, bald eagle, Florida scrub-jay, and peregrine falcon. Other common birds that can be seen around the Manatee River include cattle egret, white ibis, great blue heron, and yellow-crowned night heron. Human development has a great impact on the environment of the Manatee River. Development (slash & burn) had increased greatly in the area surrounding the Manatee River and surrounding area, and not surprisingly, the water quality within the river has decreased. The use of organic pesticides is increasing danger in the ecological communities. The destruction of the forested wetlands and uplands for housing tracts, etc. in the area has caused excess nutrients to build up in local reservoirs. Also, in these reservoirs there have been increased levels of lead, zinc, and copper. Earth Day in Palmetto has included clean-ups of the banks are local wetlands. We need to pledge to stop polluting these essential waterways. They are home to the creatures who call this river home. It is, also, affecting the health of people who get their water from it.
